Alveolar fricative sounds /s/ and /s'/ are learned last for normal children in the speech development process for Koreans. These are especially difficult to articulate for hearing-impaired children often causing articulation errors. The acoustic phonetic evaluation uses testing tools to provide indirect and object information. These objective resources can be compared with standardized resources on speech when interpreting the results of a test. However, most previous studies in Korea did not consider acoustic studies that used the spectrum moment values of hearing-impaired children. Therefore, this study was conducted to compare the characteristics of hearing-impaired children's pronunciation of fricative sounds using spectrum moment values. For this purpose, the study selected a total of 10 hearing-impaired children (5 boys and 5 girls) currently in 3rd or 5th grade and attending one of the elementary schools in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do. For the selection process, their age, type of hearing aid, implantation of hearing aid (CI) before two years of age, hearing capacity (dB) before and after wearing the hearing aid, duration of speech rehabilitation, and time of learning alveolar fricative sounds were all considered. Also, 10 normal children (5 boys and 5 girls) were selected among 3rd or 5th grade students attending one of the elementary schools in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do. The subjects were asked to read the carrier sentence, "I say _______," including a list of 12 meaningless syllables composed of CV and VCV syllables, including alveolar fricative sounds /s/ and /s'/ and vowels /a/, /i/, and /u/. The recorded resources were processed through the Time-frequency Analysis Software Program to measure M1 (mean), M2 (variance), M3 (skewness), and M4 (kurtosis) of the fricative noise. No significant differences were found when comparing spectrum threshold values in the acoustic phonetic characteristics of hearing-impaired children and normal children in alveolar fricative sound pronunciation according to vowels /a/, /i/, and /u/, alveolar fricative sounds /s/ and /s'/, and syllable structure (CV, VCV) other than, for M3 in the comparison of groups according to disability. In the comparison of syllable structures, there were statistically significant differences in M1, M2, M3, and M4 with clinical significance. However, there was no significant difference in results when comparing the alveolar fricative sounds according to the vowels.
This study was to analyze verbal interactions between teachers and students after observations on teachers' questioning and feedback, students' response types and frequency analysis at middle-school class of average and gifted students. As for the verbal interaction between teachers and students of science class of general students, it was dominant for teachers to utilize questions for summarizing or guiding for textbook contents as they are. They were focused on immediate feedback in a restatement form. The students used simple responses like yes/no in general. The most high frequency of verbal interaction models expressed were in the order of cognitive-memory thinking question-short answer-immediate feedback. On the other hand, teachers of gifted students' science class threw divergent and evaluative thinking questions of open question, such as 'what's the reason?' or 'why is it?' Immediate feedback in explanatory form was mainly provided as well. The level of feedback delay was higher than general class and that of immediate feedback was lower than general class. The students preferred short words or a not-complicated sentence when they replied and their participation was more attentive and positive. Hence, The high frequency of verbal interaction models expressed were in order of cognitive-memory thinking questions-elaborative short answer-delayed feedback.

This study is a methodological research study that tests the validity and reliability of the NCRC (Nurse Clinical Reasoning Competence scale), an instrument developed by Liou and his colleagues as the basic data for enhancing the clinical reasoning competence of nurses, by translating it into Korean and checking the similarity of the sentence structure and meaning (between the two versions?). This study verified its validity and reliability by examining 166 nurses working in four tertiary hospitals located in Seoul and Busan. An analysis of the content validity by experts showed that all of the items have a content validity higher than CVI 0.8. From the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the instrument includes a total of 15 items consisting of one factor. In addition, the correlation with the Korean version of the Nurse Clinical Reasoning Competence scale is confirmed to test the concurrent validity, by using a measurement tool of nurses' critical thinking dispositions and clinical decision-making abilities (correlation coefficient =.55-.64(p<.001) and Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.93$). Thus, the Korean version of the NCRC may be a useful instrument for evaluating the clinical reasoning competence of Korean nurses and providing the basic data for assessing their clinical reasoning competence and developing their promotion strategies.

As the use of the Internet has recently increased, the demand for opinion information posted on the Internet has grown. However, such resources only exist on the website. People who want to search for information on the Internet find it inconvenient to visit each website. This paper focuses on the opinion information extraction and analysis system through Web mining that is based on statistics collected from Web contents. That is, users' opinion information which is scattered across several websites can be automatically analyzed and extracted. The system provides the opinion information search service that enables users to search for real-time positive and negative opinions and check their statistics. Also, users can do real-time search and monitoring about other opinion information by putting keywords in the system. Proposed technologies proved to have outstanding capabilities in comparison to existing ones through tests. The capabilities to extract positive and negative opinion information were assessed. Specifically, test movie review sentence testing data was tested and its results were analyzed.

In the political field of news articles, there are polarized and biased characteristics such as conservative and liberal, which is called political bias. We constructed keyword-based dataset to classify bias of news articles. Most embedding researches represent a sentence with sequence of morphemes. In our work, we expect that the number of unknown tokens will be reduced if the sentences are constituted by subwords that are segmented by the language model. We propose a document embedding model with subword tokenization and apply this model to SVM and feedforward neural network structure to classify the political bias. As a result of comparing the performance of the document embedding model with morphological analysis, the document embedding model with subwords showed the highest accuracy at 78.22%. It was confirmed that the number of unknown tokens was reduced by subword tokenization. Using the best performance embedding model in our bias classification task, we extract the keywords based on politicians. The bias of keywords was verified by the average similarity with the vector of politicians from each political tendency.
With development of big data analysis technology, many studies to find social issues using texts mining techniques have been conducted. In order to derive social issues, previous studies performed in a way that collects a large amount of text data from news or SNS, and then analyzes issues based on text mining techniques such as topic modeling and terms network analysis. Social issues are the results of various social phenomena and factors. However, since previous studies focused on deriving social issues that are results of various causes, there are limitations to revealing the cause of the issues. In order to effectively respond to social issues, it is necessary not only to derive social issues, but also to be able to identify the causes of social issues. In this study, in order to overcome these limitations, we proposed a method of deriving the factors that cause social issues from texts related to social issues based on the theory of part of Korean linguistics. To do this, we collected news data related to social issues for three years from 2017 to 2019 and proposed a methodology to find causes based causal sentences based on text mining techniques.
In this study, we examined the interactive aspects between pitch reduction phenomena considered a universal language phenomenon and native language interference in the production of L2 intonation performed by Chinese learners of Korean. To investigate their interaction, we conducted an acoustic analysis using acoustic measures such as pitch span, pitch level, pitch dynamic quotient, skewness, and kurtosis. In addition, the correlation between text comprehension and pitch was examined. The analyzed material consisted of four Korean discourses containing five and seven sentences of varying difficulty. Seven Korean native speakers and thirty Chinese learners who differed in their Korean proficiency participated in the production test. The results, for differences by language, showed that Chinese had a more expanded pitch span, and a higher pitch level than Korean. The analysis between groups showed that at the beginner and intermediate levels, pitch reduction was prominent, i.e., their Korean was characterized by a compressed pitch span, low pitch level, and less sentence internal pitch variation. Contrariwise, the pitch use of advanced speakers was most similar to Korean native speakers. There was no significant correlation between text difficulty and pitch use. Through this study, we observed that pitch reduction was more pronounced than native language interference in the phonetic layer.
This study examined characteristics and judges' judgments regarding sexual violence cases against individuals with intellectual disabilities by analyzing total 716 cases of court decision. Of 716 cases, 6.0% sentenced not guilty, 53.5% imprisonment, 36.7% suspended sentence. More than half of the victims had experienced sexual assault more than one time with the tendency of repeating being higher when the accused were relatives or acquaintances to the victims. In half of the total cases, the victims were not able to specify the time of incidents. Only in 20% of the cases, there was actual compulsion but in the remaining cases, there was no clear coercion used during the crimes. There are three issues regarding court's decision of sexual assault case against individuals with intellectually disabilities; (1) credibility of victims' statement, (2) inability of resist during the crimes, and (3) whether the accused were aware of the victims's disabilities. In the judgment of credibility of statement, consistency of statement was the criterion that was used most frequently, being followed by specificity of statement, motivation for false accusation, cognitive capacity of victim, and reports of statement validity analysis in the order. The most frequently used criterion of inability to resist was the victim's statement and attitude, followed by the statement and attitude of the accused, the victim's knowledge and understanding of sexuality in the order. Regarding to the awareness of disabilities on the part of the accused, the statement and attitude of the accused was most frequently used, the victims' communicative abilities, duration of relationship, and daily life competence in the order. There were no differences in the rulings and issues according to levels of disabilities and gender. When victims were under 13 credibility of statement became more argues but the awareness of disabilities less frequently than the cases of victims who were 13 or older.
The study attempts to consider L/G(Letter of Guarantee) in a different angle, which is internationally used as a way of commercial customs and practices in a case when the consignee wants to receive the goods without the original Bill of Lading, Thus, this study focuses more on verifying the usage of L/G in Mixed Payment System and the range of guarantee responsibility by an issuing bank through case analysis. This case uses a mixed payment method of L/C(Letter of Credit) and T/T(Telegraphic Transfer) in the transaction of goods. The issuing bank of L/C issues L/G with the amount of L/C which is the same as the amount as C/I(Commercial Invoice). However the carrier deliver all goods laden under both L/C and T/T payment with the production of L/G. In this case, because the buyer is unable to pay, the seller makes a claim for damages to the carrier that the carrier delivers the goods to the buyer against L/G. Finally, the judge gives a decision that the issuing bank of L/G should pay the whole amount of the goods. In this case, the main issue of the dispute is the range of guarantee responsibility by the issuing bank of L/G. As a result of the case analysis, the study suggests two counter strategies for smooth utilization in international trade environment. First, in the case of mixed payment system, a seller should issue a commercial invoice separately based on the amount of each settlement plan in order to clarify the liability of guarantee. Second, banks should establish a new form for L/G including a sentence for verifying liabilities of the bank's side in the current form of L/G.
This research aimed to examine the public's perception of the "rate of sentence reduction for reasons of mental and physical weakness" and investigate if it aligns with the actual practice. Various sources, such as the Supreme Court's Courtnet search system, the number of mental evaluation requests, and the number of articles and comments related to "mental weakness" on Naver News were utilized for the analysis. The findings indicate that the public has a negative opinion on reducing sentences due to mental and physical weakness, and they are dissatisfied with the vagueness of the standards. However, this study also confirms that the court strictly applies the reduction of responsibility for individuals with mental disabilities specified in Article 10 of the Criminal Act based on the analysis of actual judgments and the number of requests for psychiatric evaluation. In other words, even though the recognition of perpetrators' mental disorders is declining, the public does not seem to recognize this trend. This creates a negative impact on the public's trust in state institutions. Therefore, law enforcement agencies, such as the police and prosecutors, need to enforce the law according to clear standards to gain public trust. The judiciary also needs to make a firm decision on commuting sentences for mentally and physically infirm individuals and inform the public of the outcomes of its application.
