  • This paper presents a new speed sensorless control method of a permanent magnet synchronous motor based on instantaneous reactive power. The proposed algorithm is constructed by instantaneous reactive power in a synchronously rotating reference frame and is not affected by mechanical motor parameters, because mechanical equation is not used. The effectiveness of the proposed system is confirmed by the experimental results.

  • A sensorless control scheme for the switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive at speed control is presented in this paper. In this paper proposes a very simple method to estimate the rotor position of a switched reluctance motor. By on-line estimating the self-inductance of the motor, the rotor position of the SR motor is obtained, and a closed-loop drive system can be achieved. Proposed methods can easy implement to application with sensorless SR motor drive system. SR motor simulation executed with self inductance estimation and result represented.

  • This paper describes a new method for indirect sensing of the rotor position in switched reluctance motors using fuzzy logic algorithm. Through a novel fuzzy algorithm, the complete SRM magnetizing characterization is first constructed, and then used to estimate the rotor position. And also, the optimized phase is selected by phase selector. To demonstrate the promise of this approach, the proposed rotor position estimation algorithm is simulated for variable speed range.

  • This paper proposes a design of optimal PI(D) controller for brushless DC (BLDC) motor speed control by the particle swarm optimization (PSO), one of the powerful metaheuristic optimization search techniques. The proposed control system is implemented on the TMS320F28335 DSP board interfacing to MATLAB/SIMULINK. With Back EMF detection, the proposed system is considered as a class of sensorless control. This scheme leads to the speed adjustment of the BLDC motor by PWM. In this work, the BLDC motor of 100 watt is conducted to investigate the control performance. As results, it was found that the speed response of BLDC motor can be regulated at the operating speed of 800 and 1200 rpm in both no load and full load conditions. Very satisfactory responses of the BLDC system can be successfully achieved by the proposed control structure and PSO-based design approach.

  • This paper investigates a speed sensorless control of induction motor. The control strategy is based on MRAS(Model Reference Adaptive System) using load-torque observer as a reference model for flux estimation. The speed response of conventional MRAS controller characteristics is affected by variations of load torque disturbance. In the proposed system, the speed control characteristics using a load-torque observer control isn't affected by a load torque disturbance. Control algorithm that propose whole system through MATLAB SIMULINK because do modelling simulation result are presented to prove the effectiveness of the adaptive sliding mode controller for the drive variable load of induction motor. Therefore we hope to be extended in industrial application.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless V/f control method of the interior mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor without damper winding. Arithmetic computation is simpler than vector control. And the lower cost price, dynamics and stability is guaranteed. When the loss of synchronization occurs with the load disturbances, the stability loop with a reduced order observer is applied quickly and accurately to improve the speed error.

  • This paper presents a new velocity estimation strategy for a non-salient permanent magnet synchronous motor drive without high frequency signal injection or special PWM pattern. This approach is based on the d-axis current regulator output voltage of the drive system, which contains the rotor position error information. The rotor velocity can be estimated through a rotor position tracking PI controller that controls the position error at zero. For zero and low speed operation, the PI gain of the rotor position tracking controller has a variable structure according to the estimated rotor velocity. Then, at zero speed, the rotor position and velocity have sluggish dynamics because the varying gains are very low in this region. In order to boost the bandwidth of the PI controller during zero speed, the loop recovery technique is applied to the control system. The PI tuning formulas are also derived by analyzing this control system by frequency domain specifications such as phase margin and bandwidth assignment.

  • A control technique which utilizes the stator flux components as control variables has been applied to a speed sensorless induction motor drive. The scheme may be regarded as a development of a DTC scheme, aimed achieve constant switching frequency operation. At each sampling period the required voltage vector is calculated on the basis of the error between the reference and the estimated stator flux vector. The problems related to the VSI dead time and the stator flux estimation at low speed have been analyzed, and an efficient solution has been proposed.

  • In this paper describes a design of Adaptive high gain observer. The gain of the observer is properly set up using the fuzzy control and adaptive high gain observer that have a superior transient characteristic and is easy to implement compared the existing method is designed. In order to verify the performance of the Adaptive high gain observer which is proposed in this paper, it is compared estimate performance of High-gain Observer and Adaptive High Gain Observer with the computer simulation. Effectiveness of the proposed high gain observer is proved from the simulation to compare the case with a speed sensor to the case with Adaptive high gain observer in the speed control of DC servo motor.

  • This paper presents a detailed study of the reduced-model extended Kalman filter(EKF) for estimating the rotor speed of an induction motor drive. The general structure of the Kalman filter is reviewed and the various system vectors and matrices are defined. By including the rotor speed as a state variable, the EKF equations are established from a discrete two axis model of the three-phase induction motor, using the software MATLAB/Simulink, simulation of the EKF speed estimation algorithm is carried out for an induction motor drive with indirect vector control.
