Non-invasive Transcutaneous pCO2 Gas Monitoring System for Arterial Blood Gas Analysis

  • Monitoring the carbon dioxide concentration in arterial blood is vital for the evaluation and prevention of pulmonary disease. Yet, domestic pure arterial blood carbon dioxide sensor technologies are not being developed, instead all sensors are imported. In this paper, we develop a real time monitoring system for arterial blood partial pressure of carbon dioxide($pCO_2$) gas from the wrist by using a carbon micro-heater. The micro-heater was fabricated with a thickness of 0.3 ${\mu}m$ in order to collect the carbon dioxide under the skin. The micro-heater has been designed to perform temperature compensation in order to prevent damage to the skin. Two clinical trials of the system were undertaken. As a result, we demonstrated that a portable, transcutaneous carbon dioxide analysis($TcpCO_2$) device produced domestically is possible. In addition, this system reduced the analysis time significantly. Carbon films could reduce the unit price of these sensors by replacing the gold film used in foreign models. Also, we developed a real time monitoring system which can be used with optical biosensors for medical diagnostics as well as gas sensors for environmental monitoring.

적외선 표적 모델링을 위한 3차원 복합 열해석 기법 연구 (Three-Dimensional Conjugate Heat Transfer Analysis for Infrared Target Modeling)

  • 적외선 표적의 정밀한 모델링을 위해서는 정확한 표면온도 계산이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 전도, 대류, 복사를 고려한 복합 열해석 모듈을 소프트웨어로 구현하고, 이를 통하여 표적 재질 및 자세, 환경 요건에 따른 표적의 표면온도 해석을 수행 하였다. 구현된 결과는 상용 소프트웨어인 OKTAL-SE 와의 비교를 통하여 결과의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 그 결과 자체 검증이 완료된 상용 소프트웨어인 OKTAL-SE 와 약 1% 이내의 오차를 보였다. 계산된 온도 결과를 바탕으로 적외선 표적 모델링을 수행하였으며 OKTAL-SE와의 연동을 통해 적외선 신호 해석을 수행하였다.

Robust Relative Localization Using a Novel Modified Rounding Estimation Technique

  • Accurate relative location estimation is a key requirement in indoor localization systems based on wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, although these systems have applied not only various optimization algorithms but also fusion with sensors to achieve high accuracy in position determination, they are difficult to provide accurate relative azimuth and locations to users because of cumulative errors in inertial sensors with time and the influence of external magnetic fields. This paper based on ultra-wideband positioning system, which is relatively suitable for indoor localization compared to other wireless communications, presents an indoor localization system for estimating relative azimuth and location of location-unaware nodes, referred to as target nodes without applying any algorithms with complex variable and constraints to achieve high accuracy. In the proposed method, the target nodes comprising three mobile nodes estimate the relative distance and azimuth from two reference nodes that can be installed by users. In addition, in the process of estimating the relative localization information acquired from the reference nodes, positioning errors are minimized through a novel modified rounding estimation technique in which Kalman filter is applied without any time consumption algorithms. Experimental results show the feasibility and validity of the proposed system.

  • 유비쿼터스 농업 환경을 성공적으로 구축하기 위해서는 센서노드 H/W, 센서노드 미들웨이 플랫폼, 라우팅 프로토콜, 농업환경 응용 서비스 등 농업에 최적화된 핵심 기술 개발이 필요하다. 전통산업인 농업 분야에 u-IT 기술을 적용함으로써 융복합기술이 노동집약적인 농업의 부가가치와 생산성을 높일 수 있는 원천기술로 자리 잡고 있다. 하지만 이러한 기술을 이용한 원예 산업 영역확장 및 시설원예에 대한 인프라 개선이 시급하다. 본 논문에서는 정밀한 식물 생장환경관리를 위해서 재배온실에 환경요인 모니터링 센서 및 생체 정보 센서들을 이용하여 생장환경 관리 시스템을 제안했다.

센서 합성을 이용한 자율이동로봇의 주행 알고리즘 설계 (Design of Navigation Algorithm for Mobile Robot using Sensor fusion)

  • This paper presents the new obstacle avoidance method that is composed of vision and sonar sensors, also a navigation algorithm is proposed. Sonar sensors provide poor information because the angular resolution of each sonar sensor is not exact. So they are not suitable to detect relative direction of obstacles. In addition, it is not easy to detect the obstacle by vision sensors because of an image disturbance. In This paper, the new obstacle direction measurement method that is composed of sonar sensors for exact distance information and vision sensors for abundance information. The modified splitting/merging algorithm is proposed, and it is robuster for an image disturbance than the edge detecting algorithm, and it is efficient for grouping of the obstacle. In order to verify our proposed algorithm, we compare the proposed algorithm with the edge detecting algorithm via experiments. The direction of obstacle and the relative distance are used for the inputs of the fuzzy controller. We design the angular velocity controllers for obstacle avoidance and for navigation to center in corridor, respectively. In order to verify stability and effectiveness of our proposed method, it is apply to a vision and sonar based mobile robot navigation system.

6자유도 호버링 AUV의 설계 및 제어 (Design and Control of 6 D.O.F(Degrees of Freedom) Hovering AUV)

  • In this paper, a study of a new hovering six dof underwater robot with redundant horizontal thrusters, titled HAUV (hovering AUV), is presented. The results of study on the structure design, deployment of thrusters, and development of the developed control system of the AUV was presented. For the HAUV structure, a structure design and an analysis of the thrusting system was performed. For navigation, a sensor fusion board which can proceed various sensor signals to identify correct positions and speeds was developed and a total control system including EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) was designed. Rolling, pitching and depth control tests of the HAUV have been performed, and relatively small angle error and depth tracking error results were shown.

  • 수중의 작업 목적에 따라 ROV와 AUV의 두 가지 용도로 사용할 수 있는 새로운 구조의 변신 6자유도 수중로봇의 설계연구를 하였다. CROV의 ROV모드와 AUV모드에 대한 각각의 구조 설계연구를 수행하였으며 각각의 모드에 대한 제어시스템을 설계하고 AUV의 경우에는 추력에 따른 항해속도에 대한 해석을 수행하였다. ROV나 AUV의 정확한 위치 및 속도를 추정할 수 있도록 다양한 센서신호를 퓨전하여 처리하는 센서퓨전보드를 제작하고 확장 칼만필터를 포함하는 전체 제어시스템을 설계하고 제작하였다.

MEMS 기반의 차량용 휨형 유속센서의 제작 및 특성 연구 (Study on the Fabrication and Evaluation of the MEMS Based Curved Beam Air Flowmeter for the Vehicle Applications)

  • This paper presents the fabrication and evaluation of the novel drag force type air flowmeter using MEMS technologies for the vehicle applications. To obtain the air drag force, the flowmeter utilized the curved beam structure, which was realized by the difference of residual stress between the silicon oxide layer and the silicon nitride layer. The paddle structure was applied for the maximum air drag force, and the dual-beam was adapted to prevent distortion. The basic experiments were performed in the wind tunnel, and the stable outputs were obtained. The device was applied to the internal combustion engine, and the results were compared with the HI-DS output where the convection thermal flowmeter was used as the reference sensor. The results indicated that the comparable resolutions and response times were obtained under the various engine speeds.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 센서를 사용하는 센서 융합 환경에서 지형 정보의 사용이 다중 지상 표적 추적 성능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 조사하였다. 지형 정보의 사용을 연계시와 표적의 발생을 제한하는 두 가지 경우에 대해 적용하였다. 전자의 경우는 거의 영향이 없었으나 후자의 경우는 오궤적의 수가 줄어드는 긍정적인 결과를 가져왔다. 결론적으로 지형 정보의 사용은 부가적인 센서의 운영으로 간주할 수 있기 때문에 좀 더 조심스러운 지형 정보의 사용이 요구된다.

표적탐지성능을 이용한 다중상태 소나의 효과도 분석 (The Effectiveness Analysis of Multistatic Sonar Network Via Detection Peformance)

  • This paper is to analyze the effectiveness of multistatic sonar network based on detection performance. The multistatic sonar network is a distributed detection system that places a source and multi-receivers apart. So it needs a detection technique that relates to decision rule and optimization of sonar system to improve the detection performance. For this we propose a data fusion procedure using Bayesian decision and optimal sensor arrangement by optimizing a bistatic sonar. Also, to analyze the detection performance effectively, we propose the environmental model that simulates a propagation loss and target strength suitable for multistatic sonar networks in real surroundings. The effectiveness analysis on the multistatic sonar network confirms itself as a promising tool for effective allocation of detection resources in multistatic sonar system.
