  • In order to analyze the degree of self-learning development ability after the clinical training curriculum, the results of 121 questionnaires were analyzed for 3rd and 4th grade students in radiology in the metropolitan area. The overall average of self-learning ability according to gender was $3.07{\pm}0.85$, which was statistically significant according to gender. However, the results according to educational system showed that the overall average was $3.07{\pm}0.85$, which was higher than the average level of self-learning development ability. There was no statistically significant difference according to educational system. The results of the self-learning development ability according to the motivation for selecting the department showed that the students who have chosen their department due to their higher employment rate after graduation had high self-development ability level($3.58{\pm}0.85$) but the students who entered the school due to self-aptitude had relatively lower self-development ability level ($2.30{\pm}0.40$). The overall average of self-learning ability according to direction of career path was $3.08{\pm}0.76$, which was over-average of self-learning development ability. Thus, there was statistically significant difference according to career path. It is necessary to improve the self-learning ability in clinical practice. In addition, the lack of statistical significance suggests problems and diversity.

In study 1, the scale comprised of 15 items was developed to measure the meaningfulness of volunteer activities. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the data obtained from 428 undergraduates (193 males and 235 females). A confirmatory factor analysis was then conducted on the data obtained from 280 undergraduates (124 males and 156 females). In study 2, the impacts of volunteer activities on 947 undergraduates (461 males and 486 females) were analyzed in terms of self-development and sociability-development. Self-development consisted of self-evaluation, self-esteem, and quality of life. Sociability-development consisted of pother-acceptances, sense of community, and democratic citizenship. The results showed that not more volunteer activities itself but more meaningfulness of those activities had stronger relations with self-development and sociability-development. • Purpose: In this study, an attempt was made to identify the extent of dental technicians' perception of professionalism and examine to what extent the perception of professionalism impacts self-development and professionalism improvement activities. Methods: An online survey was conducted for 391 dental technicians for 20 days (i.e., from October 20 to November 10, 2020). Pearson's correlation analysis was performed to examine the correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable, and multiple regression analysis was performed to analyze the degree of influence of independent variables on self-development and professionalism improvement activities. Results: As a result of examining the impact of dental technicians' perception of professionalism on self-development and professionalism improvement activities, it was revealed that all four subareas of the perception of professionalism, i.e., professional qualification, professional autonomy, social perception, and the sense of calling, were positively impacted. Conclusion: (1) It is necessary to compare and analyze the differences in the perception of professionalism among various dental technologist groups, prepare programs to improve them, and endeavor to ensure the growth of organizational operating system. (2) Self-development and professionalism improvement activities need to be supported so that dental technologists can immerse themselves in their duties with affections for the organization and contemplate and provide educational programs to workers.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the development of a teaching and learning curriculum contributing to the development of self-identity, one of the most important developmental tasks during adolescence, and its effectiveness. This research analyzed the contents concerning self-identity and its subordinate concepts in 12 different technology and home economics textbooks for 7th graders. Based on the analysis, a teaching and learning curriculum contributing to the development of adolescents’' self-identity was developed and applied to classes through discretional creative activities. The effectiveness of the curriculum was analyzed by conducting a survey on the students before and after its application. Assessments were also conducted on the lessons applied. As a result, the lessons designed to help the development of self-identity increased the scores of self-identity, as well as all subordinate concepts, including subjectivity, self-acceptance, future planning, intimacy, stability and uniqueness. An ANCOVA analysis was conducted in order to determine whether the enhanced results of the survey after the classes were due to the application of the curriculum. It was found that the classes proved helpful to the students as the application of the curriculum remained effective even after the other influencing factors affecting selfidentity were controlled.

The 14.22 points, 17.36 points were increased in self-efficacy(t=-12.41, p=.00), and career development readiness(t=-13.85, p=.00) than before. It showed the program was effective. Three variables showed correlation with one another. We suggested this structured career preparation program would be applied and extended more in career development for the college students. And the follow-up studies about self esteem and relating factors will be needed.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify intrapsychic processes of self socialization in sex role development during late childhood and adolescence. For this purpose I investigated the sex-role stereotypes, sex-role ideology, sex-role identity, and self-esteem of 6th, 8th, and 10th graders and examined the causal relationships among these sex-role variables. Data were gathered through questionnaires administered twice with an interval of three months. The methods of analysis were one-way ANOVA, $x^2$, and multiple regression. The results showed, (1) Adolescents' sex-role stereotypes had significant relationships with sex typing. Subjects with low scores on sex-role stereotypes were more likely to show opposite sex typing. (2) Sex-role ideologies had significant relationships with sex typing. As Subjects agreed more with egalitarianism, they were more likely to exhibit opposite sex typing. (3) Adolescents' sex typing had significant relationships with their self-esteem. The androgynous group exhibited the highest scores on self-esteem. (4) Path analysis from the multiple regression analysis indicated different processes between sexes in sex-role development. In the boys' sex-role development, it was found that only masculinity contributed to self -esteem. Girls' masculinity also contributed most to self -esteem, but other sex -role variables such as femininity and sex-role stereotypes made some contributions to girls' self-esteem.

  • The purpose of our study is to explore dynamic mechanisms within families and self-authored decisions among Korean female college students. In particular, we investigated how parent-child interactions influence the development of self-authorship and self-authored decisions within Korean culture through interviews with 14 female college students. Results showed unique cultural influences on how female college students interacted with parents and interpreted and reflected parents' opinions in their self-authored decisions. These results suggest further research on gender differences and complex family influences on self-authored decisions within cultural contexts.

  • This study was conducted to compare the self-leadership strategies and self-efficacy among the four types of career development in the Korean engineering college students. When the two variables including career decision level and career preparation behavior were considered, four different types of career development were obtained: immature, behavioral, pseudo, and ideal type. The results showed that the ideal type obtained the significantly higher scores on the self-leadership and self-efficacy scales than the other three types. The results of stepwise analysis suggested that each subtype had unique characteristics in relation to self-leadership strategies. Therefore, it would be useful to provide the engineering students with the specialized self-leadership training program based on the types of career development.
