  • This is a single-group pre-post study conducted to determine the effect of a calligraphy program on nursing students' career decision-making self-efficacy and self- leadership. The data collected from 231 second-year nursing students were analyzed using SPSS WIN 25.0 to determine descriptive statistics, paired t-test to analyze the effect of calligraphy, and Pearson correlation coefficient to determine the relationship between career decision self-efficacy and self-leadership. After the program, both career decision self-efficacy (t=7.23, p<.001) and self-leadership (t=6.81, p<.001) improved. The analysis of career decision self-efficacy and self-leadership after the program showed a strong correlation (r=.849, p<.001). The results of this study are significant in that they validate the effectiveness of a calligraphy program in promoting self-leadership and career decision-making self-efficacy among nursing students who do not have clear career goals. Students' overall satisfaction with the calligraphy program was 4/5 points, and they most highly evaluated the smooth interaction between fellow students through the program. At a time when the importance of cultural arts education is gradually increasing in social and educational fields around the world, calligraphy has the advantage of laying the foundation for the promotion of basic arts for the revitalization of cultural arts, so educational support is needed not only in terms of improving the quality of life and pursuing self-actualization of individuals with emotional expression and creative problem-solving skills, but also at the social level.

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of self-monitoring on spontaneously initiating speech behavior of the hearing-impaired preschoolers. Three hearing-impaired preschoolers were selected from a special school for the deaf. They showed some vocalizations and words under intensive instruction settings, but never spontaneously spoke as a means of communication. Multiple probe design was applied in this study. During the self-monitoring intervention, each child was trained to assess whether his own initiating speech behavior was occurred or not, and then record his own behavior's occurrence on the self-recording sheets and self-graphing sheets. The vibration of handphone was used as a tactile cue for self-monitoring. The results of the present study were as follows: (1) self-monitoring significantly increased the percentage of occurrence of spontaneously initiating speech behaviors. (2) Increased level of spontaneously initiating speech behavior were generalized into another natural instruction (cognitive) settings. (3) Increased level of spontaneously initiating speech behavior were maintained after four weeks from the termination of the intervention.

Self-differentiation scale was consisted of such factors as emotional reactivity, I-position, emotional cut-off and fusion with others. The results of this research were as follows: First, there was significant difference in the level of total self-differentiation between husbands and wives. Second, there was significant difference in the levels of marital conflict and of marital satisfaction to levels of self differentiation. Third, self differentiation in both husbands and wives had an direct effect on marital satisfaction and stability through marital conflict. Fourth, marital conflict in both husbands and wives had a direct effect on marital satisfaction.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of burn out, emotional labor and self-efficacy in nurses, and to identify predictors of burnout. Method: The participants were 268 nurses working in C university hospital in G city. Data were collected from May 1 to May 31, 2010, and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: The mean score per item for burnout was 3.13, the mean emotional labor score was 3.15, and the mean of self-efficacy score was 3.42. Burnout showed negative correlation with self-efficacy (r=-.339, p=.000), and showed positive correlation with emotional labor (r=.511, p=.000). Variables that predicted burnout were emotional labor, self-efficacy, gender, number of assigned patient per duty (37.8%). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate a need to develop programs for nurses to increase self-efficacy and to control the emotion, and the need for further studies to examine causal relationship among burn out, emotional labor and self-efficacy.

All the SPPC factors for Korean children was significantly lower than those for American children. The SPPC fators for American children didn't show any significant differences by grades. But for Korean children seventh graders showed significantly lower SPPC than fifth graders. 2. The most significant factor to predict the golbal self-worth was physical appearance for boys and girls. Self perception for physical appearance is more influential factor than scholastic competence to form the positive self-perception for both boys and girls. 3. The daily hassels for Korean children were significantly higher than those for American childredn. Also daily hassels for seventh graders were significantly higher than those for fifth graders. 4. Daily hassels global self worth correlated negatively. When the level of stress was increased, the global self-worth was decreased.

Where the motivations for participating cyber education may vary, the final destination of education may be the same-improving the level of self achievement by study. As the researchers believe that the paramount success factor of cyber education would be self-directedness, we probed the factors to build UP self-directedness. Researchers developed the level of self-directedness as object-orientation, action-orientation, and learning orientation. Those composite orientations were compared with learning achievement. The study showed the significant relationship between some factors of self-directedness and educational performance.

  • The coronavirus pandemic has brought about dramatic changes in education, evidenced most clearly by the increase in e-learning. Thus, to identify how learners' attitudes toward e-learning are affected by diverse factors, this study examined the effects of perceived system quality and usefulness, the self-management of learning, and self-efficacy. A total of 236 college students participated in the survey. Multiple regression analysis was performed to test the study's proposed hypotheses. The study findings suggested that learners' attitudes toward e-learning are positively influenced by perceived e-learning usefulness, self-management of learning, and self-efficacy. However, the perceived system quality had no influence and no statistical significance.
