  • The purpose of this study is to construct factors of AI education utilization competency. AI education utilization competency is used as basic data for education to enhance the AI education competency of pre-service early childhood teachers. To this end, 7 studies related to competency factors and models were selected by searching for previous studies. Seven preceding studies were analyzed. As a result, 18 competency factors were extracted, including understanding of artificial intelligence. The extracted competency elements were divided into six areas, which are divided into understanding subject knowledge through coding, class preparation, class management, class result feedback, class guidance, and self-development. And 15 factors were constructed. The draft formed through coding was improved through review by three early childhood education experts. Factors improved through expert review were structured by classifying them into knowledge, skills, and attitudes to organize the curriculum. The validity of the structured competency factor was verified through expert Delphi. As a result of the Delphi verification, all factors were converged in the first survey. Through this, 6 competency areas, 11 competency factors, and 19 competency factors were composed of knowledge, 10 skills, and 5 attitudes. The implication is that the competency factors presented as a result of this study can be used as basic data for organizing a curriculum to improve the ability of pre-service early childhood teachers to use artificial intelligence education.

  • Purpose: The study aimed to examine the effects of disaster nursing simulation training on attitudes toward disaster management, disaster preparedness, learning self-efficacy and nursing practice satisfaction in nursing college students. Methods: The study is based on a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 95 nursing students were recruited from a nursing college. Disaster nursing simulation training for fire and earthquake situations were provided for 8 hours in one day. Results: There were significant differences in nursing students' attitudes toward disaster management (t=2.20, p=.030), disaster preparedness (t=7.88, p<.001), learning self-efficacy (t=3.69, p<.001), and nursing practice satisfaction (t=5.28, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on our findings, it is necessary to implement disaster nursing simulation training to improve disaster nursing competency of college students.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine relationships among information resources use, critical thinking, and nursing information literacy competency, and then to identify predictors of nursing information literacy competency in nursing students. The self-reported questionnaires were administered to 118 senior nursing students in two universities, J city. As results of multiple regression analysis, the factors affecting nursing information literacy competency in nursing students were critical thinking (${\beta}=.54$, p<.001) and electronic information resources use (${\beta}=.27$, p<.001), explained 44% of the total variance (F=44.96, p<.001). Based on our results, a educational program for strengthening critical thinking disposition and use of electronic information resources is needed to be developed to improve nursing information literacy competency of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and develop competency based career development system for mid size IT company employees to support HRD(Human Resource Development) & HRM (Human Resource Menagement). Although many researches have been done in terms of employees career and competency development in corporate environment, there are not many cases to analyze mid size companies because small companies have limited number of employees and budget to develop career development system. This study analyzed 55 subjects to analyze their current competency level and job description in two mid size IT companies to design and develop competency based career development system. Three career paths such as R&D, management, and marketing, were common in IT companies and each suitable career development plan was recommended. The results of this study are able to provide self diagnostic competency based career development system for mid size company employees to improve their job performance and administration efficiency as a consequence.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relations among appropriateness of work, competency on student suicide and attitude toward suicide in health teachers. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional descriptive one. The subjects were 193 health teachers. Self-administered questionnaires were used to measure the variables of this study. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression with SAS 9.3 software were used for the data analysis. Results: The attitude score toward suicide ranged from 1.47 to -1.03. The average score of appropriateness of work and competency related to student suicide were 2.34 and 2.81 respectively. Associated factors with competency related to student suicide among health teacher were appropriateness of work related to student suicide, two items of attitude toward suicide(suicide is an acceptable means to end an incurable illness and people who commit suicide are usually mentally ill), education level, education experience on suicide prevention and management, and the adjusted $R^2$ of the regression model was 34.3%. Conclusion: Health teachers were not tolerable to student suicide. However, they evaluated themselves as low in the appropriateness and competency to the work on student suicide, especially in screening and counselling of high risk groups. The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to develop education programs about counseling and intervention on student suicide for health teachers.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between nursing competency and emotional intelligence and nurse role transition of nursing students. Study participants were 134 nursing students of university in Chungnam province. Data were collected with the use of self-administered questionnaires from November 1 to December 10, 2018. Collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 20.0 program. Nurse role transition of nursing students showed positive correlation with nursing competency(r=.79, p<.001) and emotional intelligence(r=.59, p<.001). Factors influencing nurse role transition of nursing students were nursing competency(${\beta}=.66$, p<001) and emotional intelligence(${\beta}=.22$, p=.001), which accounted 67.8%. These results indicate that various educational programs to increase nursing competency and emotional intelligence of nursing students are needed to increase nurse role transition. Studies on the effectiveness of provided programs are also needed to provide more effective programs.

Self-directed learning abilities, approaches to learning and learning flow of the participants were examined with self-report structured questionnaires. Data were collected between September 2 and December 16, 2014, and were analyzed using chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test and ANCOVA with SPSS/PC version 21.0. Results: After the intervention the experimental group showed significant increases in self-directed learning abilities, deep approaches to learning and learning flow compared to the control group. However, no significant difference was found between groups for surface approaches to learning. Conclusion: Learning activities using the learning portfolios could be effective in cultivating the learning competency for growth of knowledge, technology and professionalism by increasing personal concentration and organization ability of the nursing students so that they can react to the rapidly changing environment.

  • This study was conducted to identify and analyze the educational needs for key vocational competency in nursing students. The participants were 411 nurse students at five universities and the survey was conducted from June 1 to June 31, 2016. The data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 23.0 using descriptive statistics, a paired T-test, Borich's Needs Analysis, as well as the Locus for Focus Model. Based on the results, the subjects recognized the present level of 'professional ethics,' 'self development' and 'interpersonal skills' to be high and those of 'communication skills' and 'skills for understanding groups' to be low. 'Professional ethics,' 'self development,' 'problem solving skills' and 'communication skills' were the most important sub-elements of vocational competency. A significant difference in recognition levels between present and importance ere found in all components of vocational competency. The four priorities were analyzed based on Borich's needs value. In accordance with the Locus for Focus model, 'communication skills,' 'problem solving,' 'resource management skills' and 'self development' were identified as the highest priority sub-factors of vocational competency to nursing students. Based on the result of this study, it is expected to be used as the basic data to develop the nursing student's vocational curriculum and program.
