일부 치과기공사의 임파워먼트와 자기효능감 이직의도와의 관계연구 (A Study on the relationship of Empowerment, Self-efficacy and Turnover intention of dental technician)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of empowerment, self-efficacy and turnover intention of dental technicians. The subjects of this study were selected by haphazard sampling and the size was 142 of the dental technician. The results were analyzed with spss/pc+ and the conclusion is as follows ; 1. The mean of dental technicians empowerment was 3.24, Self-efficacy was 3.51, and their turnover intention was 2.72. 2. In characteristics of subjects, turnover experience and position are significantly different in empowerment. 3. In characteristics of subjects, a working experience, income, position, marriage and turnover experience are significantly different in self-efficacy. 4. In characteristics of subjects, a position and a working experience are significantly different in turnover intention. 5. Empowerment showed a positive correlation with self-efficacy and a negative correlation with turnover intention. The above results is different from other empowerment studys which empowerment is related with self-efficacy and turnover intention. The study on empowerment is important in the aspect of stratege for increasement of work performance.

  • Purpose : This study was intended to investigate the structural relationship among empowerment, self-efficacy, job motivation, autonomy, critical thinking, job-satisfaction, burnout, and self-achievement. In addition, we tested the moderating effect of the career period on the influence of empowerment. Methodology : The structural equation model was used to test the causal relationship between factors, and t-test, ANOVA, descriptive statistics are applied to analyze the research data. Findings : The result of this study shows that the structural model that is the empowerment encourages the self-efficacy, job motivation, autonomy, and critical thinking, also these factors affect the self-achievement through both the job-satisfaction and burnout is acceptable according to the goodness of fitness indices. In addition, we show that the career period moderates the influence of empowerment on the self-efficacy, job-motivation, and autonomy, but not critical thinking. Usually, the shorter the career period is the higher the influence of empowerment is. This moderating effect means that to give proper empowerment to lower position nurses encourage them, and prevent from burnout. Therefore, they feel job-satisfaction and finally self-achievement. Practical Implications : The empowerment helps the nurse to activate self-efficacy, job motivation, autonomy, critical thinking. Hence, these factors decrease burn-out but increase job satisfaction. Finally a sense of self-perfection increase.

사회적 지지와 자아존중감이 간호사의 임파워먼트에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Social Support and Self-esteem on Nurses' Empowerment)

  • Purpose: This study was done to measure the level of social support, self-esteem, and empowerment and to identify any effect of social support and self-esteem on the empowerment of nurses. Methods: The study design was a descriptive survey using questionnaires which were given to 381 nurses in C province. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regressions. Results: The mean score for nurses' empowerment was $2.83{\pm}0.66$. Seven individual characteristics, social support(family, meaningful persons, supervisors, and co-workers) and self-esteem accounted for 23.3% of the variance in nurses' empowerment. Prediction elements influencing empowerment of nurses were salary per month, self-esteem, and social support(supervisors). Conclusion: The results indicate that it is necessary to increase nurses' empowerment. Social support by supervisors and self-esteem were confirmed as important factors to increase nurses' empowerment. In addition, raising the monthly average income would increase empowerment of nurses.

  • The purposes of this study were to develop the empowerment education program, to describe the experiences of diabetes patient's empowerment process and to develop a theoretical model of the diabetes patient's empowerment process. Method 1. : The development of the empowerment program for the diabetes patients: The strategies of the empowerment education program were enhancement of problem - solving, decision making, self-efficacy, self-control. participation and mutual support. Method 2. : According to the grounded theory methodology of Strauss and Corbin, the qualitative data was collected with in depth interviews and participants observations until its saturation when the 25 consented subjects were participating and interacting with the other subjects in the empowerment education program. Results: With the analysis of the data, 29 categories were generated. The core category generated, which was a central phenomenon of the empowerment process, was named powerlessness. The intervening conditions facilitating or impeding the empowerment process were discovered as supportive systems through the participation of group meeting, problem solving dialogue, and the knowledge deficit of self-care. The action/interaction strategies were developed as the paricipating, dialoguing, questioning, supporting system, self-controlling, self efficacy, enhancing self-esteem. stress relaxing and instillation of hope.

간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 셀프리더십, 임파워먼트와의 관계 (Relationships of Nursing Professionalism, Self-Leadership and Empowerment of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between nursing professionalism, self-leadership, and empowerment in nursing students. Methods. The participants were 226 nursing students. Data collected from November to December 2015 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients. Results. The mean scores for nursing professionalism ($3.03{\pm}0.41$), self-leadership($3.04{\pm}0.35$), and empowerment($3.13{\pm}0.46$) were above average. nursing professionalism was significantly different according to health concern motivating for nursing. self leadership was significantly different according to grade, religion. empowerment was significantly different according to grade, health concern motivating for nursing. Significant correlations were found between nursing professionalism and self-leadership, nursing professionalism and Empowerment. Conclusions. The results indicate that there is a need to improve nursing professionlism, self leadership, and Empowerment. The above mentioned results should be reflected in the development of effective teaching methods for nursing education program.

재가노인의 일상생활기능, 자아존중감과 임파워먼트간의 관계 (Correlational study of IADL, Self-Esteem, Empowerment of Elderly People Living at Home)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was investigate the relationship between IADL, self-esteem and empowerment of elderly home residents. Method: The data were collected from Aug. 1 st to September 30, 2004. The participants were 274 elderly people who lived at home. Data were collected using structured questionnaire and analysed using the SPSS program. Result: Mean scores for IADL, self-esteem and empowerment were 3.74, 3.22, 3.36 respectively. IADL and self-esteem showed a significantly positive correlation to empowerment. Conclusion: This results indicate that the elderly people need more self-esteem and empowerment. Therefor it is important to develop effective strategies to enhance empowerment in elderly people.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research was to develop and evaluate the effects of an empowerment program. Method: We developed an 8-week empowerment program to decrease cancer symptoms and increase self-efficacy, self-esteem, and empowerment. This program includes aspects concerning self-knowledge and management, self-help groups, self-advocacy, resource network, and laughter therapy. We evaluated the effects of this program on 32 home-based cancer patients (one group pretest-posttest design). The data collection was performed from August 22, 2011 to October 13, 2011. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Result: There were significant differences in self-esteem derived from the empowerment program. However, there were no significant differences in cancer symptoms, self-efficacy, and empowerment after the program. Conclusion: More research, using a control group pretest-posttest design that considers an appropriate intervention duration, is needed to more accurately examine the effects of the program. We expect this intervention to improve the empowerment of home-based cancer patients.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of empowerment education program on self-efficacy, self-care agency, self-care activities and physiologic parameters among hemodialysis patients. Method: Nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. There were 36 subjects in the experimental group and 35 subjects in the control group. The empowerment education program was administered for 4 weeks (1 time per week). Data were collected pre-treatment and post treatment. The $X^2$-test or Fisher's exact test, ANCOVA, t-test and paired t-test were performed to determine the group differences, using SPSS 14.0 version. Results: Self-efficacy, self-care agency, self-care activities and weight variation significantly improved after the empowerment education program in hemodialysis patients. Conclusion: The empowerment education program for hemodialysis patients was effective to improve the degree of self-efficacy, self-care activities and self-care agency and to decrease interdialytic weight variation.

응급구조사의 전문직 자아개념이 임파워먼트와 소진에 미치는 영향 (The influence of professional self-concept on empowerment and burnout of paramedics)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the degree of paramedics' professional self-concept, empowerment, and burnout and to verify the effects of empowerment and burnout on their professional self-concept. Method: The study subjects were 116 in-hospital paramedics who completed a structured questionnaire. Data were collected between June 18 and 25, 2013. Results: The results were as follows. First, the paramedics' mean score for professional self-concept was 2.93 (range: 1-4), and the mean scores for empowerment and burnout were 2.87 (range: 1-4) and 2.48 (range: 1-5). Second, in terms of the general characteristics of the paramedics, professional self-concept showed significant differences based on sex, religion, work experience, and medical institution classification. Third, professional self-concept had a positive correlation with empowerment, and professional self-concept and empowerment had negative correlations with burnout. Fourth, the main variables affecting paramedics' professional self-concept were gender and total years of work experience. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop program to reduce paramedics' burnout and qualitatively improve paramedic services.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of empowerment, self-efficacy, and turnover intention of dental hygienists. Date were obtained from 213 dental hygienists who were working at dental clinics, hospitals located in Seoul Kyung-ki. The results were analyzed with spsswin 9.0 and the conclusion is as follows; 1. The level of dental hygienists empowerment was 3.07, self-efficacy was 3.67, and their turnover intention was 2.98. 2. According to the working place and position, there were significant differences in empowerment(p<0.05). 3. According to the experienced-years, position, marriage and turnover experience there were significant differences in self-efficacy(p<0.05). 4. According to the position and marriage, there were significant differences in turnover intention(p<0.05). 5. Empowerment showed significant a positive correlation with self-efficacy and significant a negative correlation with turnover intention. 6. Turnover intention, information structure and opportunity structure accounted significantly for the empowerment structure and self-efficacy. 7. Self-efficacy and GE structure accounted significantly for the turnover intention.
