Ceramic foams prepared from silica -clay were coated with TiO$_2$ and V$_2$O$_{5}$ catalysts for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH$_3$. The effects of V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading, reaction temperature, space velocity, and oxygen content on NOx reduction with NH$_3$ were mainly investigated. Also, the NOx reduction characteristics of V$_2$O$_{5}$ and V$_2$O$_{5}$ -TiO$_2$ filters were compared when sulfur dioxide exists. From the results, the optimal NOx reduction with the maximum reduction efficiency of 91 % could be performed under the condition with V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading 6.0 wt. %, reaction temperature 35$0^{\circ}C$, space velocity 6,000h$^{-1}$ , and oxygen content 5%. And, the V$_2$O$_{5}$ -TiO$_2$ filters have shown higher NOx reduction efficiency and acid resistance against sulfur dioxide than the V$_2$O$_{5}$ filters.
The catalytic activity of ZSM-5 catalyst for the disproportionation of toluene is dependent on the type of cation exchanged, the degree of ion-exchange and the reaction temperature. The activity increases in the order of alkaline-, alkali earth-, hydrogen, and rare-earth-exchanged ZSM-5 and decreases with increasing degree of cation exchange. Among the ion-exchanged ZSM-5 catalyst, only Cs-ZSM-5 shows predominant selectivity for p-xylene. The selectivity increases with increasing degree of $Cs^+$-exchange and decreasing reaction temperature. This phenomenon is interpreted in terms of shape selectivity arising from the partial blocking of channel intersections by large cesium ions.
Ti-containing zeolite was synthesised and used in the epoxidation of di-cyclopentadiene (DCPD). Among various Ti-zeolite catalysts, Y contained Ti-zeolite showed the highest yield in the epoxidation of DCPD. The study was also investigated in terms of the Ti content in the catalysts, $H_2O_2$/substrate ratio, reaction temperature and applied time. The reaction conditions significantly influenced on both the catalytic activity and selectivity. In addition, Ti structure in the zeolite was analyzed using IR and UV-vis spectroscopy.

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) reaction of promoter catalysts was investigated in this study. A pure anatase type of TiO$_2$ was used as support. Activation measurement of prepared catalysts was practiced on a fixed reactor packing by the glass bead after filling up catalysts in 1/4 inch stainless tube. The reaction temperature was measured by K-type thermocouple and catalyst was heated by electric furnace. The standard compositions of the simulated flue gas mixture in this study were as follows: NO 1,780ppm, NH$_3$1,780ppm, $O_2$1% and $N_2$ as balance gas. In this study, gas analyzer was used to measure the outgassing gas. Catalyst bed was handled for 1hr at 45$0^{\circ}C$, and the reactivity of the various catalyst was determined in a wide temperature range. Conversion of NH$_3$/NO ratio and of $O_2$ concentration was practiced at 1,1.5 and 2, respectively. The respective space velocity were as follows . 10,000, 15,000 and 17,000 hr-1. It was found that the maximum conversion temperature range was in a 5$0^{\circ}C$. It was also found toi be very sensitive at space velocity, $O_2$ concentration, and NH$_3$/NO ratio. We also noticed that the maximum conversion temperature of (W, Mo, Sn) -V$_2$O$_{5}$/TiO$_2$ catalysts was broad. Specially WO$_3$-V$_2$O$_{5}$TiO$_2$2 catalyst appeared nearly 100% conversion at not only above 30$0^{\circ}C$ ut also below 25$0^{\circ}C$. At over 30$0^{\circ}C$, NH$_3$ oxidation decreased with decrease of surface excess oxygen. In addition, WO$_3$-V$_2$O$_{5}$TiO$_2$ catalyst did not appear to affect space velocity, $O_2$ concentration, and NH$_3$/NO ratio.ratio.
In this paper the selective reduction catalyst (SCR) for controlling the NOx at high temperature range was studied. XRD and FT-IR BET analysis was also performed to determine the structural properties and adsorption/desorption characteristics of the catalyst. In the case of anatase $TiO_2$ support, a negligible NOx conversion was observed, but the $W/TiO_2$ catalyst made using W as a active metal showed an excellent ability to remove NOx. In particular, the $W/TiO_2$ exhibited a rapid increase in the catalytic activity due to the presence of W for the NOx conversion compared to that of using the pure $TiO_2$ at a high temperature range over $400^{\circ}C$. In addition, the phenomenon of reduced reaction activity due to the heat shock for a long time was found to be suppressed.

The efficiency of a heterogeneous ruthenium zirconia catalyst ($Ru(OH)_x/ZrO_2$) was demonstrated to the selective oxidative transformation of alkenes or alkynes. The scissions of C-C double bonds to aldehydes and triple bonds to diketones or carboxylic acids were carried out with (diacetoxyiodo)benzene as an oxidant under dichloromethane (5 mL)/water (0.5 mL) solvent system at $30^{\circ}C$ for wide range of substrates. The $Ru(OH)_x/ZrO_2$composite showed higher catalytic activity and selectivity than other ruthenium-based homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysts for the scission reaction. The catalyst exhibited a high mechanical stability, and no leaching of the metal was observed during the reaction. These features ensured the reusability of the catalyst for several times for the oxidative cleavage of unsaturated hydrocarbons.

In this study, an experiment and a reaction characteristic study were conducted to enhance the reaction activity of V2O5/WO3/TiO2 at 300 ℃ or less by adding selenium to the support, in a selective catalytic reduction method using ammonia as a reducing agent to remove nitrogen oxides. Se-TiO2 and TiO2 were synthesized using the sol-gel method, and used as a support when preparing V2O5/WO3/TiO2 and V2O5/WO3/Se-TiO2 catalysts. The reaction activity of our catalyst was compared with that of a commercial catalyst. The denitration efficiency of the catalyst using TiO2 prepared by the sol-gel method was lower than that of the catalyst prepared using commercial TiO2, but was improved by the addition of selenium. Thus, the effect of selenium addition on the catalyst structure was analyzed using BET, XRD, Raman, H2-TPR, and FT-IR measurements and the effect of the increase in specific surface area by selenium addition and the formation of monomer and complex vanadium species on reaction characteristics were confirmed.

Low-temperature conversion of nitrogen oxides using plasma-assisted hydrocarbon selective catalytic reduction of (HC-SCR) was investigated. Plasma was created in the catalyst-packed bed so that it could directly interact with the catalyst. The effect of the reaction temperature, the shape of catalyst, the concentration of n-heptane as a reducing agent, the oxygen content, the water vapor content and the energy density on $NO_x$ removal was examined. $NO_x$ conversion efficiencies achieved with the plasma-catalytic hybrid process at a temperature of $250^{\circ}C$ and an specific energy input (SIE) of $42J\;L^{-1}$ were 83% and 69% for one-dimensional Ag catalyst ($Ag\;(nanowire)/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$) and spherical Ag catalyst ($Ag\;(sphere)/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$), respectively, whereas that obtained with the catalyst-alone was considerably lower (about 30%) even with $Ag\;(nanowire)/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ under the same condition. The enhanced catalytic activity towards $NO_x$ conversion in the presence of plasma can be explained by the formation of more reactive $NO_2$ species and partially oxidized hydrocarbon intermediates from the oxidation of NO and n-heptane under plasma discharge. Increasing the SIE tended to improve $NO_x$ conversion efficiency, and so did the increase in the n-heptane concentration; however, a further increase in the n-heptane concentration beyond $C_1/NO_x$ ratio of 5 did not improve the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency any more. The increase in the humidity affected negatively the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency, resulting in lowering the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency at the higher water vapor content, because water molecules competed with $NO_x$ species for the same active site. The $NO_x$ conversion efficiency increased with increasing the oxygen content from 3 to 15%, in particular at low SIE values, because the formation of $NO_2$ and partially oxidized hydrocarbon intermediates was facilitated.
SCR has been popularly approved as one of the most effective means for NOx emission control in heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles currently. However, high urea dosing would lead to ammonia slip. And $NH_3$ sensor for vehicle emission applications has not been popularly used in real applications. This paper presents experimental studies on the diesel engine urea-SCR system by using a double NOx sensor system that is arranged in the downstream of the SCR catalyst based on ammonia cross-sensitivity. It was shown that the NOx conversion efficiency rised as $NH_3/NOx$ increases and the ammonia slip started from the $NH_3/NOx$ equal to 1.4. The increase of temperature caused high improvement of the SCR reaction rate while the space velocity had no obvious change. The ammonia slip was in advance as catalyst temperature or space velocity increase and the ammonia storage reduced as catalyst temperature or space velocity increase. The NOx real-time conversion efficiency rised as the ammonia accumulative storage increase and reached the maximum value gradually.

Porous dendrite structure AuCu alloy was formed using a hydrogen bubble template (HBT) technique by electroplating to improve the catalytic performance of gold, known as an excellent oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalyst in alkaline medium. The rich Au surface was maximized by selectively electrochemical etching Cu on the AuCu dendrite surface well formed in a leaf shape. The catalytic activity is mainly due to the synergistic effect of Au and Cu existing on the surface and inside of the particle. Au helps desorption of OH- and Cu contributes to the activation of O2 molecule. Therefore, the porous AuCu dendrite alloy catalyst showed markedly improved catalytic activity compared to the monometallic system. The porous structure AuCu formed by the hydrogen bubble template was able to control the size of the pores according to the formation time and applied current. In addition, the Au-rich surface area increased by selectively removing Cu through electrochemical etching was measured using an electrochemical calculation method (ECSA). The results of this study suggest that the alloying of porous AuCu dendrites and selective Cu dissolution treatment induces an internal alloying effect and a large specific surface area to improve catalyst performance.
