Temporomandibular disorders (TMD), involving the masticator system of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and masticator muscle, can be characterized with the cardinal signs and symptoms of jaw pain, noises and limitation of mandibular range of motion. However, TMD requires differential diagnosis due to its heterogeneous characteristics with various causes despite the similar clinical profiles. Oral cancer involving TMJ and the masticator system, although infrequent, can be one of these causes and should be considered one of the most life-threatening disease mimicking TMDs. This report introduces a case of masticator space tumor originally diagnosed as TMD in a 73-year-old Korean female with previous history of brain tumor. The clinical signs and symptoms closely mimic that of TMD which may have disrupted differential diagnosis. We discuss here key points for suspecting TMDs of secondary origin, namely, that of cancer and the implications it has on dental clinicians.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors related to osteoporosis prevalence in postmenopausal women. Methods: This study was a secondary analysis research using data from the Eighth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VIII-1), 2019, which were downloaded from the KNHANES website. The subjects of this study were 1,791 postmenopausal women who participated in the KNHANES VIII-1, 2019. Data analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program and complex sample design analysis was performed considering factors such as weight, cluster, and strata. Results: Osteoporosis prevalence of in postmenopausal women was 17.5%. Factors related to osteoporosis prevalence were age (65~74 years old, ≥75 years old), house income (low), household type (one-person household), postmenopausal period (10~19 years), drinking (non-drinking). Conclusion: Interventions for osteoporosis prevention and management in postmenopausal women need to focus on women less than 10 years after menopause and one-person household women. Furthermore, it is necessary to expand bone density testing for the early detection of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
Adhesive bonding is currently widely used in many industrial fields, particularly in the aeronautics sector. Despite its advantages over mechanical joints such as riveting and welding, adhesive bonding is mostly used for secondary structures due to its low peel strength; especially if it is simultaneously exposed to temperature and humidity; and often presence of bonding defects. In fact, during joint preparation, several types of defects can be introduced into the adhesive layer such as air bubbles, cavities, or cracks, which induce stress concentrations potentially leading to premature failure. Indeed, the presence of defects in the adhesive joint has a significant effect on adhesive stresses, which emphasizes the need for a good surface treatment. The research in this field is aimed at minimizing the stresses in the adhesive joint at its free edges by geometric modifications of the ovelapping part and/or by changing the nature of the substrates. In this study, the finite element method is used to describe the mechanical behavior of bonded joints. Thus, a three-dimensional model is made to analyze the effect of defects in the adhesive joint at areas of high stress concentrations. The analysis consists of estimating the different stresses in an adhesive joint between two 2024-T3 aluminum plates. Two types of single lap joints(SLJ) were analyzed: a standard SLJ and another modified by removing 0.2 mm of material from the thickness of one plate along the overlap length, taking into account several factors such as the applied load, shape, size and position of the defect. The obtained results clearly show that the presence of a bonding defect significantly affects stresses in the adhesive joint, which become important if the joint is subjected to a higher applied load. On the other hand, the geometric modification made to the plate considerably reduces the various stresses in the adhesive joint even in the presence of a bonding defect.

In this paper, we investigate the tradeoff between security and reliability for a multi-hop protocol in cluster-based underlay cognitive radio networks. In the proposed protocol, a secondary source communicates with a secondary destination via the multi-hop relay method in the presence of a secondary eavesdropper. To enhance system performance under the joint impact of interference constraint required by multiple primary users and hardware impairments, the best relay node is selected at each hop to relay the source data to the destination. Moreover, the destination is equipped with multiple antennas and employs a selection combining (SC) technique to combine the received data. We derive closed-form expressions of the intercept probability (IP) for the eavesdropping links and the outage probability (OP) for the data links over a Rayleigh fading channel. Finally, the correction of our derivations is verified by Monte-Carlo simulations.
In this study, we analyzed fiber laser welding for the pure copper thin plates in a series of secondary lithium-ion batteries; and performed the experiment for the purpose of the preceding study to replace bolt joints method the with the laser welding method. We have changed the peak power of the laser from 5 to 6kW, the pulse duration by 4, 6, 8, and 10ms, the frequency by 10, 12, 16, and 25Hz, and the focal position by -3, 0, and +3. As a result, when the focal position is at +3, the peak power is 5kW, and the pulse duration and the Frequency are 4ms and 25Hz, respectively, we obtain 2.1 and 2.5 times better tensional strengths, respectively, than the highest values of tensional strengths obtained with the focal positions at 0 and -3.

Cognitive radio (CR) is regarded as an effective approach to avoid the inefficient use of spectrum. However, CRNs have more special security problems compared with the traditional wireless communication systems due to its open and dynamic characteristics. Primary user emulation attack (PUEA) is a common method which can hinder secondary users (SUs) from accessing the spectrum by transmitting signals who has the similar characteristics of the primary users' (PUs) signals, and then the SUs' quality of service (QoS) cannot be guaranteed. To handle this issue, we first design a multiple-phase energy detection scheme based on the cooperation of multiple SUs to detect the PUEA more precisely. Second, a joint SUs scheduling and power allocation scheme is proposed to maximize the weighted effective capacity of multiple SUs with a constraint of the average interference to the PU. The simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the effective capacity of the secondary users compared with the traditional overlay scheme which cannot be aware of the existence of PUEA. Also the good delay QoS guarantee for the secondary users is provided.
This paper considers a cooperative orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA)-based cognitive radio network where the primary system leases some of its subchannels to the secondary system for a fraction of time in exchange for the secondary users (SUs) assisting the transmission of primary users (PUs) as relays. Our aim is to determine the cooperation strategies among the primary and secondary systems so as to maximize the sum-rate of SUs while maintaining quality-of-service (QoS) requirements of PUs. We formulate a joint optimization problem of PU transmission mode selection, SU (or relay) selection, subcarrier assignment, power control, and time allocation. By applying dual method, this mixed integer programming problem is decomposed into parallel per-subcarrier subproblems, with each determining the cooperation strategy between one PU and one SU. We show that, on each leased subcarrier, the optimal strategy is to let a SU exclusively act as a relay or transmit for itself. This result is fundamentally different from the conventional spectrum leasing in single-channel systems where a SU must transmit a fraction of time for itself if it helps the PU's transmission. We then propose a subgradient-based algorithm to find the asymptotically optimal solution to the primal problem in polynomial time. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can significantly enhance the network performance.

This paper introduces a full duplex single secondary user multiple-input multiple-output (FD-SSU-MIMO) cognitive radio network, where secondary user (SU) opportunistically accesses the authorized spectrum unoccupied by primary user (PU) and transmits data based on FD-MIMO mode. Then we study the network achievable average sum-rate maximization problem under sum transmit power budget constraint at SU communication nodes. In order to solve the trade-off problem between SU's sensing time and data transmission time based on opportunistic spectrum access (OSA) and the power allocation problem based on FD-MIMO transmit mode, we propose a simple trisection algorithm to obtain the optimal sensing time and apply an alternating optimization (AO) algorithm to tackle the FD-MIMO based network achievable sum-rate maximization problem. Simulation results show that our proposed sensing time optimization and AO-based optimal power allocation strategies obtain a higher achievable average sum-rate than sequential convex approximations for matrix-variable programming (SCAMP)-based power allocation for the FD transmission mode, as well as equal power allocation for the half duplex (HD) transmission mode.
In this paper, we investigate a dynamic spectrum sharing problem for the centralized uplink cognitive radio networks using orthogonal frequency division multiple access. We formulate a large-scale joint rate and power allocation as an optimization problem under quality of service constraint for secondary users and interference constraint for primary users. We also suggest admission control to nd a feasible solution to the optimization problem. To implement the resource allocation on a large-scale, we introduce a notion of using the conservative factors $\alpha$ and $\beta$ depending on the outage and violation probabilities. Since estimating instantaneous channel gains is costly and requires high complexity, the proposed algorithm pursues a practical and implementation-friendly resource allocation. Simulation results demonstrate that the large-scale joint rate and power allocation incurs a slight loss in system throughput over the instantaneous one, but it achieves lower complexity with less sensitivity to variations in shadowing statistics.
It is increasing construction of long span railway bridge with concrete track system for speed up of railway and efficient maintenance of track. As the sleeper of the concrete track system layed on a bridge is fixed on deck of the bridge, the displacement of the sleeper and deck is same. Therefore, the spacing between two sleeper installed at the end of the adjacent deck near the expansion joint of bridge becomes vary according to the longitudinal expansion of a deck by temperature change. By the way, if the spacing of sleepers become increase excessively, it causes large bending stress of in a rail, and it can leads failure or reduction of fatigue life of the rail. Further more, the excessive displacement of the rail may induce decrease ride comfort as well as corrugation of rail surface. Therefore, it is required to determine the allowable maximum sleeper spacing to prevent such problems. For the purpose, investigation on the influence factor on sleeper spacing for straight track was carried out. Variation of bending moment in a rail, wheel force, and the ratio of primary and secondary deflection of the rail according to sleeper spacing was investigated, and, as a result, the maximum allowable sleeper spacing at the bridge expansion joint was suggested.
