베트남지역에서의 연약지반 개량 설계.시공 사례 (A Case Study on Soft Soil Treatment Design and Construction in Vietnam)

  • GS E&C was awarded the contract for the construction of Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway Package EX-7 from Station Km 72+000 to Station Km 81+300 in December 2008. This project is the $7^{th}$ contract package of the 105.5 km long expressway near Hai Phong city, which includes a FCM-styled bridge along with high embankments over soft ground. For these high embankments, there is a need to treat the soft soil for improving the overall stability during construction and for reducing the post-construction settlement of the expressway. The Designer of this project had adopted four (4) different types of ground improvement techniques to treat the soft ground, including the prefabricated vertical drains (PVD), sand drains (SD), pack drains (PD, or sometimes called packed sand drains), and sand compaction piles (SCP). The main focus of soft soil treatment should be paid attention to the residual settlement after construction. In current design, however, it appeared that the secondary compression (or creep) of the improved soil layer and the consolidation settlement of the lower untreated compressible soil layer have been neglected in the estimation of the post-construction settlement. These uncalculated residual settlements may not only unsatisfy the design criteria but also raise serious problems during service period of this expressway. In this paper, the subsoil condition and current design were reviewed focusing on the employed soft soil treatment method and expected residual settlement.

박스형 보강효과를 고려한 개선된 PSC Beam교의 구조 안전성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Structural Safety Evaluation of Improved PSC Beam Bridges Considering To-Box Reinforcement Effect)

  • 노후화된 PSC Beam 교량은 개선된 보강방안이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 성능저하가 발생된 노후 PSC Beam 교량을 대상으로 PSC Beam 교량의 보강형을 폐단면 박스형태로 변환하여 이차합성 구조화함으로써, PSC Beam 교량의 강성을 안정적으로 증가시킬 수 있는 박스형 보강방안을 제안하였다. 제안된 보강방안과 기존의 외부프리스트레스 도입공법을 결합하여 보강할 경우, 보강효과를 정량적으로 규명하기 위해 시공단계해석에 따른 시간 의존적 정밀해석을 수행하였다. 성능개선을 위해 제안된 박스형 보강방안 적용 시 보강방법에 따라 전단면 및 휨 보강과 같은 다양한 형태의 보강방안을 제시한 후, 각각의 보강방안에 대해 이차합성 효과에 따른 상향캠버 및 부재응력 특성을 평가하였다. 또한 내하력 평가를 수행하여 내하율을 검토함으로서, 개선된 PSC Beam 교량의 구조 안전성을 정량적으로 평가하였다.

화학약액에 의한 표층혼합공법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Surface Mixing Method by Chemical Stabilizer)

  • 본 연구는 석회계 및 물유리계 약액을 사용하여 대상토의 토성변화에 따른 혼합고결토의 차수효과 및 전단강도증대 등 약액혼합핵과에 대해 구명한 것으로, 경제적이고 합리적인 공법을 개발발전시키는 데 주목적을 두었다. 주요 연구내용은 다음과 같다. (1) 사용된 화학약액으로는 가고계 및 물유리계 그리고 2차첨가재를 사용하여 혼합고결토에 대한 제보험을 하고, (2) 화학약액의 종류 및 혼합기에 따른 혼합고결토의 공학적 특성을 비교.검토하였으며, (3) 혼합고결토의 강도증대, 차빙효과, 익밀특성 등 공학적 특성에 의한 개양동과를 구명하였다.

  • 최근 10여년간 터널 막장면에서 연속적인 지지가 가능해진 연약 점토지반에서의 실드터널 시공법이 개발되었다. 이러한 실드공법은 굴착시 융기단계가 조절될 수 있으므로 테일보이드 내부로 토사의 이동을 감소시키는데 많은 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 밀폐형 실드의 일종인 슬러리 실드와 토압식 실드의 계측치를 이용하여 실드터널 해석을 위해 개발된 2차원 탄소성 프로그램 EPSHILD에 적용시켜 검증하였다. 보다 정확한 해석수행을 위해 시공단계에 상응하는 굴착단계를 결정하였고 융기하중과 하중분담률을 고려하였다. 본 연구는 실드 시공과정에서 발생하는 즉시침하에 근거를 둔 것이며 장기침하에 대해서는 고려하지 않았다.

하악골 정중부에서 채취한 피질해면골블록을 이용한 구내 골결손부의 재건: 증례보고 (RECONSTRUCTION OF INTRAORAL JAW DEFECTS WITH CORTICOCANCELLOUS BLOCK OF MANDIBULAR SYMPHYSIS)

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the availability of mandibular symphysis corticocancellous block grafts in patients treated for reconstruction of intraoral jaw defects. Materials & Methods: 8 patients with mandibular and maxillary bony defects were treated with corticocancellous block of symphysis. The types of defects included 4 pathologic jaw defects and 4 vertical and/or horizontal alveolar deficiencies. The age ranged from 13 to 45 years. Additional treatments such as plate fixation, alloplastic bony substitutes, and/or barrier membrane application were perfomred. They were evaluated for complications and healing of defects. Follow-up period ranged from 6 to 15 months. Results: 2 patients experienced complications such as wound dehiscence and mild resorption of exposed bone. None of the patients needed secondary operation. Paresthesia of lip, chin, and teeth were recovered completely by 6 months postoperatively. Reconstructed wound showed favorable healing and bony consolidation. Conclusion: Corticocancellous block of mandibular symphysis can be used for the reconstruction of a variety of intraoral local jaw defects selectively. Advantages were easy fixation of graft, possibility of restoration of original alveolar contour, and decreased donor site morbidity.

경부고속철도 콘크리트궤도 토공 및 원지반 침하 (I) (Settlement of Embankment and Foundation for Concrete Track of Gyungbu High Speed Railroad)

  • An application of concrete track is being actively processed for the construction of Korean railroad. The concrete track has an advantage to decrease the maintenance ire, but is very difficult system to maintain after earthwork settlement occurred. Therefore, the management and control of embankment and foundation settlement is very important for the successful concrete track construction. We expect that the main part of the settlement of the concrete track is the one of embankment and foundation supporting it. Settlements vulnerable to the concrete track among the causes of lots of settlements are primary consolidation and secondary compression settlement of foundation, creep settlement of embankment, settlement caused by train load, and unequal settlement resulting from the difference of embankment material and construction process. This paper investigated the settlement causes to make badly effects on the concrete track and also evaluated the settlement with field tests and numerical analysis.

농어촌지역개발의 종합적 접근을 위한 정책 과제 (Policy Issues for Integrated Approach to Rural Regional Development)

  • The objectives of the study are to identify the issues and problems encountered in Korea's current integrated rural regional development(IRRD) program and to suggest policy remedies to cope with them. Secondary data and materials ate mainly used for the study. Since the mid-1980s, rural settlement planning has been carried out in the Republic of Korea, In the planning process,'scale of economy'perspectives and settlement policy have been emphasized for increasing the efficiency of investment. During the 1990s, rural settlement and major village development projects have been implemented under the rural structure transformation programs. Agricultural structure adjustment projects for land consolidation and sizable farming have been separated from the rural settlement and mojor village development projects. Based on the evaluative analysis for the rural structure transformation policy and program, some problematic issues were raised as follows: (a) lack of integrative control function in the program'(b) weak linkage between living environment improvement and agricultural development projects: and (c) lack of comprehensive village development planning and implementation system. The policy issues to solve the problems were suggested as follows: (a) adoption of bottom-up approach in new IRRD planning and project system : (b) projection of comprehensive development planning and project at the village level; and (c) introduction of new regional agriculture development projects such as direct payment system for farming in less favorable areas and organic farming.

미약한 과압밀상태의 점토지반에 대한 구성모델 (A Constitutive Model for Lightly Overconsolidated Clays)

  • 연약한 점토지반에서는, 정규압밀상태와 더불어 미약한 과압밀상태에서의 구성관계가 실제 지반구조물의 거동을 해석하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 미약한 과압밀상태의 거동에 실용적으로 적용될 수 있는 구성모델은 비교적 간편한 계수만을 사용하여 실제의 다양한 거동을 정확하게 예측할 수 있도록 개발되어야 한다. 이러한 연유로 본 연구에서는 등가응력 (자)으로규준화하였을 때 나타나는 지반의 비 배수거동을 재현하여 미약한 과압밀상태에 적용할 수 있는 구성모델을 제안하였다. 제안된 모델은 단지 정규압밀상태의 거동으로 도출할 수 있는 모델계수만을 사용하여 초기항복면내부에서 발생하는 항복현상을 표현할 수 있다. 뿐만아니라 제안된 모델은 과압밀상태, 2차압밀, 응력이완등의 영향에 따른 실제의 거동을 기존의 모델들에 비하여 더욱 간편하고 정확하게 예측할 수 있다.

성토지지말뚝공법 중 섬유보강재의 인장력 검토에 관한 연구 (A Study on the tension of Geogid on Pile-supported Construction Method)

  • Road or Railway construction over soft ground is needed to be considered on secondary consolidation which will be caused differential settlement, lack of transport serviceability, higher maintenance cost. Especially for the railway construction in the second phase of Gyung-Bu or Ho-Nam high speed railway, concrete slab track has been adapted as a safe and cost effective geotechnical solution. In this case controlling the total settlement under the tolerance is essential. And pile supported geogrid reinforced construction method is suggested as a solution for the problem of the traditional method on soft soil treatments. Pile supported geogrid reinforced construction method consists of piles that are designed to transfer the load of the embankment through the compressible soil layer to a firm foundation. The load from the embankment must be effectively transferred to the piles to prevent punching of the piles through the embankment fill creating differential settlement at the surface of the embankment. The arrangement of the piles can create soil arching to carry the load of embankment to the piles. In order to minimize the number of piles geogrid reinforced pile supported construction method is being used on a regular basis. This method consists of one or more layers of geogrid reinforcement placed between the top of the piles and the bottom of the embankment. This paper presents several methods of pile supported geogrid reinforced construction and calculation results from the several methods and comparison of them.

Estimation and Prediction of Financial Distress: Non-Financial Firms in Bursa Malaysia

  • Altman's Z-score is used to measure a company's financial health and to predict the probability that a company will collapse within 2 years. It is proven to be very accurate to forecast bankruptcy in a wide variety of contexts and markets. The goal of this study is to use Altman's Z-score model to forecast insolvency in non-financial publicly traded enterprises. Non-financial firms are a significant industry in Malaysia, and current trends of consolidation and long-term government subsidies make assessing the financial health of such businesses critical not just for the owners, but also for other stakeholders. The sample of this study includes 84 listed companies in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. Of the 84 companies, 52 are considered high risk, and 32 are considered low-risk companies. Secondary data for the analysis was gathered from chosen companies' financial reports. The findings of this study show that the Altman model may be used to forecast a company's financial collapse. It dispelled any reservations about the model's legitimacy and the utility of applying it to predict the likelihood of bankruptcy in a company. The findings of this study have significant consequences for investors, creditors, and corporate management. Portfolio managers may make better selections by not investing in companies that have proved to be in danger of failing if they understand the variables that contribute to corporate distress.
