In this paper a neural network controller for achieving maximum power tracking as well as output voltage regulation, for a wind energy conversion system (WECS) employing a permanent magnet synchronous generator is proposed. The permanent magnet generator (PMG) supplies a dc load via a bridge rectifier and two buck-boost converters. Adjusting the switching frequency of the first buck-boost converter achieves maximum power tracking. Adjusting the switching frequency of the second buck-boost converter allows output voltage regulation. The on-time of the switching devices of the two converters are supplied by the developed neural network (NN). The effect of sudden changes in wind speed and/ or in reference voltage on the performance of the NN controller are explored. Simulation results showed the possibility of achieving maximum power tracking and output voltage regulation simulation with the developed neural network controllers. The results proved also the fast response and robustness of the proposed control system.
The railway characteristic, which is concerned, as most utilities is unbalance produced by the large single-phase loads. Here are two theoretical concerns associated with unbalanced loads. First, generator rotor heating resulting from unbalanced current flow, Second, there is the possibility of motor overheating in industrial plants, due to the unbalanced voltage. Therefore, the exact assessment of the voltage unbalance must be carried out preferentially as well as load forecast at stages of designing and planning for the electric railway system. This paper proposes a new analysis model to more effectively estimate voltage unbalance. Numerous distributed circuits in the electric railway system are composed by components. The entire system can be easily modeled by the combination of four-port representation of each component in parallel and/or series. Simulation results using the model are compared with field data, and it verifies the accuracy of the proposed model.
This paper presents a new simplified method for finding the multiple load flow solutions and through their solutions the voltage stability can be evaluated. Line flow($P_{ij}$, $Q_{ij}$) may be formulated with the second-order equations for $V_{i}^{2}$ in polar coordinates or two circle equations for $e_{i}$ and $f_{i}$ in rectangular coordinates. Based on this feature, multiple load flow solutions are calculated with simple works, results of multiple load flow solutions are used for sensitivity analysis of voltage stability. Also, in the case that reactive power sources is considered, method of evaluating the voltage stability is introduced. The proposed method was validated to 2-bus and IEEE 6-bus system.
This paper presents a new DC/AC multilevel converter. This configuration uses single DC sources. The proposed converter has two stages. The first stage is a DC/DC converter that can produce several DC-links in the output. The DC/DC converter is one type of boost converter and uses single inductor. The second stage is a multilevel inverter with several capacitor links. In this paper, one single input multi output DC-DC converter is used in order to voltage balancing on multilevel converter. In addition, as compare to traditional multilevel inverter, presented DC/AC multilevel converter has less on-state voltage drop and conduction losses. Finally, in order to verify the theoretical issues, simulation and experimental results are presented.
In this paper, a low-cost single-phase PWM rectifier with small DC-link capacitors is proposed, where a buck-boost converter with a low power rating is added at the DC link. By controlling the auxiliary circuit so as to absorb the voltage ripple in the DC link, the second-order voltage ripple in DC-link capacitor can be reduced significantly. Therefore, a small film capacitor can be utilized to replace the bulky electrolytic capacitors. The simulation results are shown to verify the validity of the proposed method.

A capacitor common connected LLC resonant converter with auxiliary switches for a wide output voltage control range is presented in this paper. The proposed converter can be controlled in two ways to achieve a wide output voltage control range of Vo-3Vo. The first control method is performed through pulse width modulation of the auxiliary switches and primary switching devices. The second control method is conducted through frequency modulation of the primary switching devices configured to operate in full-bridge switching modes, when the auxiliary switches are turned off. The feasibility of the proposed converter is verified by the experimental results of a 5 kW prototype.

We address the problematic issue of blinking in residential LED lighting systems-a phenomenon that has recently become a significant concern due to voltage sags caused by high-power household appliances. To combat this, we developed a two-stage LED converter with integrated anti-blinking circuitry, specifically designed for T5 LED indirect lighting fixtures. The first stage employs a Power Factor Correction (PFC) boost circuit to enhance voltage stability by aligning the voltage and current phases, thereby minimizing power losses. The second stage, a meticulously engineered DC-DC buck converter, ensures stable lighting despite electrical fluctuations. Rigorous testing has confirmed our converter's efficacy in maintaining consistent light output without blinking, thereby substantially improving user comfort and adhering to strict standards for harmonic distortion and electromagnetic compatibility. Our breakthrough provides a robust solution to a pressing issue, marking a significant advancement in LED lighting technology.
In this thesis, design of a VCO(Voltage controlled Oscillator) with a novel tuning mechanism is presented for the Radar system. This circuit, the 9.5 GHz oscillator is designed and implemented by restructuring microstrip resonator to raise Q value and to require a wide frequency tuning range. This product is fabricated on 2.6 Teflon substrate and device is NE722S01. In this paper, The new microstrip resonator VCO is proposed to achieve the characteristic of a wide frequency tuning range. This microstrip resonator VCO shows the phase noise characteristic of -108.3 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from the fundamental frequency, the output power of 5.7 dBm and the second harmonic suppression of -38 dBc for the VCO are obtained. The manufacture VCO shows a frequency tuning range of 193.8 MHz. The proposed micro trip resonator VCO can be used for X-band Radar System with required tuning range.
