Seat Allocation Model for Single Flight-leg using Linear Approximation Technique (선형근사 기법을 이용한 단일비행구간의 좌석할당 모형)

  • Over the last three decades, there are many researches focusing on the practice and theory of RM in airlines. Most of them have dealt with a seat assignment problem for maximizing the total revenue. In this study, we focus on a seat assignment problem in airlines. The seat assignment problem can be modeled as a stochastic programming model which is difficulty to solve optimally. However, with some assumptions on the demand distribution functions and a linear approximation technique, we can transform the complex stochastic programming model to a Linear Programming model. Some computational experiments are performed to evaluate out model with randomly generated data. They show that our model has a good performance comparing to existing models, and can be considered as a basis for further studies on improving existing seat assignment models.

  • This paper presents a concept on seat assignment systems. The concept is based on the assumption that customers or passengers prefer to select seats at their own choosing and allowing them to do so would fragment remaining seats. This undesirable condition may make a group of people intending to be seated together unable to find a sufficient number of consecutive seats. The concept proposed is to set aside a number of seats when the map of available seats is shown for customer's selection. A number of functions are created to allot seats to be visible for choosing according to the number and locations of the remaining seats and the number in the group of the passengers. Passengers' preferences such as window or aisle seating, front seating are taken into accounts. A primitive example of seat assignment system of a Boeing 717 aircraft, assuming the number of passengers in a group being 1, 2 or 3, is given based on the concept.

  • Recently, various systems are being developed for efficiently assignment and management of such resources as seats of airplane, train, bus, theater, and library. If it occurs the exceed demand for the limited seat resource, the system has much difficulty for the seat resource management and assignment efficiently. The existed allocation and management methods were processed using the centralization management of the limited seat resource. But these methods cannot consider the preference of each user, and these not support the fairness of usage for each person. Accordingly, we design and implement the seat assignment system based on the customer-driven for the seat management in the reading room of library, customer selects directly for the fairness of seat.

  • There might have been weakness in securing user authentication or verification with real time service approach, while existing unimodal biometric authentication has been used mainly for user identification and recognition. Accordingly, it is essential to research and develop ways that upgrade security performance with multi biometric based real time authentication and verification technology. This paper focused to suggest binding assignment and strategy for developing multi biometric authentication technology through investigation of advanced study and patents.   • In this paper, we consider the train-fleet assignment problem to determine fleet assignment and seat allocation synchronously. An integer programming model of the problem and a decomposition-based solution approach are developed to handle short-term period deterministic orgin-destination demands. The primary objective used in the developed model is to maximize the total number of passengers transported during peak load periods, such as Chuseok national holiday period. Thus, in developing the model we choose to profit-pursuing system. We also show how the proposed model can be readily modified to incorporate profit-maximization. Using the empirical data sets provided by a Korean railroad company, we have tested the proposed solution approach and carried out various comparison analyses by varying traffic demand patterns and train schedules. The computational experiments reveal that the proposed solutions approach produces high quality solutions in reasonable computation time.

  • In late years, from a trend for ecology of auto motive engine, low emission and low fuel consumption of engine become a social assignment. At the same time, the high output (high efficiency) is required, too. In order to meet those requirements, in comparison with conventional engines, lean A/F (Air fuel ratio) setting is becoming popular for the high performance engines of late years. Exhaust valve seat (sintered material) used in these engines has a problem in wear resistance, because it is exposed to the surroundings that is clean and a high temperature in comparison with the conventional engines. Therefore, wear mechanism with lean A/F of engine was analyzed.The exhaust valve seat (sintered material), that was superior in wear resistance, was developed.

  • 최근 인터넷을 이용한 대부분의 예약 시스템들은 예약 기능만을 중요시하고 있어서 한정된 예약자원을 효율적으로 관리하기에 많은 어려움이 있다. 또한, 한정된 예약 자원의 배정 및 관리방식이 중앙 집중식 관리로 처리되고 있기 때문에 고객들의 선호도를 고려하지 않고 예약이 이루어지고 있다. 예약 시스템의 효율적인 관리와 현대 서비스 산업에서 중요한 고객들의 예약 만족도를 향상시키는 것은 예약 시스템에서 가장 중요한 부분이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 예약 시스템에서 일어날 수 있는 문제를 복합 스케줄링 기법에 적용하여 예약 시스템들의 문제점을 해결하고자 하였다. 고객중심의 도서관 좌석배정 예약시스템은 객체지향개념을 기반으로 고객들의 선호도를 고려하여 고객들이 가지고 있는 사건들을 주어진 제약들에 만족하도록 목표인 도서관 좌석배치도에 배정한다. 또한 고객들의 도서관 이용 정보를 통하여 더욱더 편리한 서비스를 제공하고자 한다. 고객들은 자신의 우선순위에 따라서 자원을 배정하고, 좌석 자원에 대한 고객의 선호도 차이를 가질 수 있게 하였다. 고객 클래스와 도서관 이용정보를 고려하여 우선순위를 가진 고객들은 제약을 만족하면서 최선의 좌석 슬롯을 선택하여 사건을 배정한다. 또한, 고객중심의 도서관 좌석배정 예약시스템을 모의 실험하여 고객들의 만족도를 살펴보았다.

A Study on the Model of Inter-library Cooperation's Network in the Information of Library Materials (정보의 상호협력을 위한 네트웍모형에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to build a model of inter-library cooperation's network in the information of library materials. Results of this study are 1. The YTational Assembly Library and the Central National I, ibrar:; should be unified. 2. The unified organization should be organized its cooperative quarter for itself (in the Central National Library). .And every library should he organized his quarter and personnel for the inter-library cooperation. 3. The cooperatior, organization in the re~ion should organized by the Regional Central Public Library. 4. In case of the Central National Library, financial problems required of the performance in the inter-library cooperation should he charged equally among the Central National Library, the library belong to the reader and the reader. In case of the regional Central Public Library, it should be charged equally arnozlg the regional Central Public Library, the library belon-g' to the reader and the reader. 5. The Regional Central Public Library in the seat of provincial government should be managed the cooperation's work of the individual library, and upward the unified Central Xarional Library should generalize. 6. The purchase of materials should be done by the character of the each library 1r:ith the assignment of the each subject should be decided in the meeting of the each library personne!. -2nd the budget for purchasing per the year should be decided on the minimum by the circumstances of the each library regionally. 7. The unified Regional Central Public Library in the seat of provincial government should be charged of the Union Catalog's expense regionally, and the Central National Library should be charged of that National Union Catalog's expense to cumulative the Fegional Union Catalog within a definite period of time. 8. Books without presentation of a specimen copy to the unified Central National Library should be purchased, and r.cr 'oe included to the National Union Catalog. 9. The cooperation of the each library should be decided on the law, and considered the character of the each region.
