  • 최근의 산업화 및 관광권화로 인해 무분별한 많은 호안구조물이 연안역에 위치하고 있어 상당수가 설치전보다 오히려 환경성과 관광성을 악화시키고 있는 것으로 조사보고되고 있다. 그러므로 기존 호안구조물에 대한 환경성과 관광성 그리고 안전성을 확보할 수 있는 적절한 리모델링 방안을 분석하여 최적의 리모델링에 대한 설계기준 및 유지관리지침을 정립할 필요가 있다. 환경성과 안정성을 위해서는 태풍이나 해일에 대한 정밀 시뮬레이션이 필요하며 이를 위해서는 구조물의 현재 설치되어 있는 3차원 위치파악과 함께 구조물의 3차원 모델링이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 해안 구조물 GIS정보를 구축하기 위한 이론적인 방법을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다.

  • This study, a sub-one of comprehensive research works titled under "Rural Resources Evaluation System", tried to verify utility/applicability of the developed model system through the case study works on 3 sample villages, Backya, Uyan and Suyu, representing the lowland, upland and seashore villages respectively. From the various surveying and collecting works including the official/statistical data collection, map analysis, in-situ investigation, field survey and written material review, the original data set were obtained and manipulated into final input data for resources grading. After then, by the automatized calculation procedure of "Rural Resources Evaluation System", score results for resources evaluation were finally produced with the total maximum score being 1,000. Through comparing works among score results of 3 case villages and between score results and areal characteristics of each case village, the applicability of the system developed in this study was well confirmed.

Comparative Drought Resistances among Eleven Warm-Season Turfgrasses and Associated Plant Parameters

  • Comparative drought resistances of 11 perennial warm-season turfgrasses were evaluated in the field after withholding irrigation for 48 days in summer I and 57 days in summer II. There were significant variations among the grasses in their drought resistances. From two years study of field shoot recovery from drought stress, the relative rankings among the 11 warm-season turfgrasses was as follows. 'Arizona Common' and 'Texturf 10' bermudagrasses [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.], 'Tifgreen' hybrid bermudagrass [C. dactylon (L.) Pers. ${\times}$ C. transvaalensis Davy], and 'Georgia Common' centipedegrass [Eremochloa ophiuroides (Munro.) Mack.] possessed good drought resistances, whereas 'Texas Common' St. Augustinegrass [Stenotaphrum secundatum (Walt.) Kuntze] and 'Tifway' hybrid bermudagrass [Cyndon dactylon (L.) Pers ${\times}$ C. transvaalensis Davy] possessed poor drought resistances. 'Texas Common' buffalograss [Buchloe dactyloides (Nutt.) Engelm.], 'Pensacola' bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum Flugge.), and 'Adalayd' seashore paspalum (Paspalum vaginatum Swartz), 'Meyer' zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.), 'Emerald' zoysiagrass (Z. japonica Steud. ${\times}$ Z. tenuifolia Willd. ex Trin.) were found to rank intermediate. Visual leaf firing showed the highest correlation (r=-0.84) to shoot recovery from drought stress. Visual leaf rolling (r=-0.59) and canopy-air temperature differential (r=-0.64) also showed very significant correlations, whereas leaf water potential (r=0.54) showed relatively lower correlation.

  • 연약지반에 건설 운영되는 폐기물매립지는 매립하중으로 인하여 지반 및 사면파괴의 위험성을 내재하고 있다. 제한된 부지면적 내에서 안정성을 유지하며 최대의 매립용량을 확보하기 위해서는 당해 연약지반의 특성을 상세히 조사 이해하고, 폐기물의 매립특성 및 반입대상 폐기물의 반입조건 등을 파악하여 체계적이고 정량적인 안정관리를 위한 계측관리가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 수도권매립지 제2매립지를 대상으로 계측자료를 이용하여 Tominaga-Hashimoto법, Kuriharh 법 등 매립장 안정관리를 정량적으로 할 수 있는 기법을 이용한 매립지 안정성여부를 분석하였다.

해일/범람에 따른 해안 매립지의 취약성 (The Vulnerability of the Reclaimed Seashore Land Attendant Upon Storm Surge/Coastal Inundation)

  • Recently, the intensity and frequency of typhoons have been on the increase due to unusual weather phenomena and climate change. In particular, on September 13, 2003, typhoon MAEMI (0314) caused heavy damage in the provinces of Busan and Gyongnam, but also provided an opportunity to perform a variety of studies on storm surge. According to investigation reports on the damage resulting from typhoon MAEMI, the areas where coastal inundation occurred were located in reclaimed land under coastal development. In this study, through an image data analysis of historic and present day typhoons affecting Masan, we found that the inundation damage areas corresponded to reclaimed lands. Therefore, using the area around Busan, including the southeastern coast of Korea where typhoons lead to an increased storm surge risk, we performed a storm surge/inundation simulation, and examined the inundation effect on reclaimed land due to the intensified typhoons predicted for the future by climate change scenarios.

해양성 Flammeovirga sp. mbrc-1 균주의 분리 및 한천분해기능의 특성조사 (Isolation of a Marine-derived Flammeovirga sp. mbrc-1 Strain and Characterization of Its Agarase)

  • A novel agar-degrading bacterium mbrc-1 was isolated from seashore of Kyungpo at Gangwon province and cultured in marine broth 2216 medium. Isolated bacterium mbrc-1 was named as Flammeovirga sp. mbrc-1 based on the 16S rDNA sequence. Its agarase showed maximum activity of 923 units/L at pH 7.0 and $45^{\circ}C$ and sustained 90% remaining activity after exposed to $45^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. The enzyme hydrolyzed agarose to yield neoagarohexaose (18.5%), neoagarotetraose (38%) and neoagarobiose (43.5%), indicating that the enzyme is ${\beta}$-agarase. Thus, isolated bacterium and its ${\beta}$-agarase would be useful for the industrial production of neoagarotetraose and neoagarobiose.

인천광역시 수목원 조성 기본계획 (Master Plan for the Incheon Metropolitan City Arboretum)

  • This study is to establish the Incheon Metropolitan City Arboretum Development Plan (IMADP) as a capacity building both for plant diversity conservation and nature friendly leisure activity areas of Incheon Metropolitan City, Korea. The arboretum planning area is located within territory of the Incheon Grand Park Based on the IMADP, the arboretum was divided into three display spaces; the Urban Greening Garden, the Rare and Endangered Plant Species Garden and the Theme Garden. Detailed planting guidelines were suggested according to the three garden areas. The Urban Greening Garden was designed to display the following three; the relevance techniques, the model, and the practical uses of plants that are regarded to an urban greening. The Rare and Endangered Plant Species Garden (REPSG) was planned for the collection and display of the rare and endangered native plants in the territories of Incheon and the island seashore. Also, the REPSG includes the education purposes of comparing and displaying taxonomically related plant species. The Theme Garden was projected for the collection and display of plant species that have long been familiar to Korean culture and which are also used in our daily life.

  • As the geotechnical technologies have grown, the size of civil structures has become bigger than before, thereby requiring large-scale geotechnical testing equipments which can evaluate the mechanical behavior of large size testing materials such as gravel, crushed rock and so on. These kind of large testing equipments are usually used to evaluate the mechanical characteristics of large size material which are applied in the large infra structures like dam, seashore structure, coastal landfill, soil-structure interaction and seismic response of large-scale structure. In this research, state-of-the-art information in the field of geotechnical engineering was collected and summarized for such large-scale experimental equipments as large-scale geo-centrifuge, large-scale triaxial testing machine, large-scale direct shear testing apparatus and large-scale oedometer.

강제어초의 효율성에 관한 현장조사 (Field Investigation on the Efficiency of the Artificial Steel Reefs)

  • As part of the government's fishery resource creation policy, fishing ground creation projects have been undertaken in Korea's major seashore fishing spots since the 1970s, where artificial reefs constructed using new materials that make up for the weakness of concrete reefs have been used. In this study, the stability of these artificial reefs when acted upon by external forces, their ability to attract and gather fish, and their economic feasibility were examined. For this purpose, an experimental artificial steel reef was constructed and was installed in an area of the sea. Then the corrosion of the experimental material attached to it was investigated. The efficiency of the artificial steel reef was then verified by examining its functionality, removal, and burying, as well as the speed of insertion of living things into its structure and its ability to attract and gather fish.

해상 유출 기름 제거 시 미생물을 이용한 제거 기술의 종류와 고려하여야 할 문제점 분석

  • 자연 미생물 분해 (Biodegradation)는 미생물들이 유출 기름 또는 기타 환경 오염물들을 분해시키는 자연 풍화 과정이며 이를 더욱 가속화시키기 위하여 인공적으로 미생물에 필요한 영양분 공급 또는 미생물들을 추가로 파종하는 것을 미생물 분해법 (Bioremediation)이라고 한다 현재 해상 기름 유출 사고 시 기계적 장비를 이용한 제거방법이 널리 사용되고 있으며 기계적 제거 방법의 대안으로서 화학분산제 (Chemical Dispersants) 사용과 현장 소각 (In-situ Burning) 방법이 있다. 또 하나의 대안으로서 이 미생물 분해법이 지적되고 있으며 충분한 시간이 주어질 때 해안으로 유입되는 기름에 대하여 일부 미생물들을 이용하여 유출 기름을 적어도 부분적으로 제거할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 해상 유출 기름 제거를 위한 미생물 분해법의 종류와 기술의 잠재력 그리고 적용 시 고려하여야 할 문제점들을 분석하여 발생 가능한 피해를 최소화시키는데 필요한 정보들을 정리하였다.
