Second Life is a massive multi-user on-line environment; "a 3D virtual world where users can socialize, connect and create using voice and text chat" (http://www.secondlife.com). The paper explores the process and methods to establish a contemporary art exhibition that incudes various shapes and characteristics of art; paintings, 3D sculptures, time-based video arts, technical based arts, and so on. We have also discuss about the technical limitations to make virtual museums in the Second Life and recognitions between human and art works.

Environment artworks occupy the diverse spaces of architecture not as one of ornaments or supplementaries to edifice but as a main subject of architectural effect. The application of artworks in architectural design, such as paintings or sculptures including installation art possesses social and historical functions as well as contextual meaning. In Korea the interest of environment artworks has increased since early 1980s, during which large projects began to establish. However environment artworks have been selected merely by the owner's preference or the artist's aesthetic value without collaboration with architects or interior architects, who are willing to allow the minimal units of signification to architectural space. The purpose of the study is to prove the importance of environment artworks in spatial design of architecture. The essence intrinsic to design issue will be defined by proposing the selection factors for environment artworks to escalate the value of architectural space, so that we can expect not only the unification of art and architecture but also the accordance between artistry and publicity.

Wood carving has been extremely widely practiced, but survives much less well than the other main materials, being vulnerable to decay, insect damage, and fire. It therefore forms an important hidden element in the art history of many cultures. Even though wood is less durable than either steel or stone, it has been used for a long time due to its usefulness. Wood has a lot of benefits. So people have used wood for materials in houses, trains, cars, bridges, and simple utilities in their ways according to their own religions, climates, and environment they are living in. Nowadays, there are wood products that are made up for its weaknesses and this has made wood be used in variety fields. Moreover, wood has been widely selected materials for sculptures, interior, and also for architecture thanks to its colors and textures. Wood has helped our life more abundant and beautiful.

The main feature of Buddhist sculpture Is said to lay in how it can materialize the divineness. Therefore lots of people used to pay attention to whether its religious features draw people's reverence or not. However, the robe of Buddhist sculptures has not won its proper attention. The Buddhist robe Is usually considered as a mere measure to make Buddha's supernatural feature more vivid. However, contrary to our expectation, the robe is the very real one which can be found in people's lift. The Gandhara Buddhist sculpture robe does not have sleeves, but several sheet of clothes covered the sculpture. Moreover, we can find same features in monk's robe which appeared in the Gandhara art. I can therefore conclude that this robe is not confined to Buddha, but is very popular one in that time in Gandhara. This article would survey the main feature and its relevant things about Gandhara Buddhist sculpture's robe, especially its change process while it had been transmitted to China.

On the turning paradigm in the early part of the 20th century, the change of behavior patterns naturally had influence on arts based it. Also the furniture designs was formed new style by interaction between paintings and sculptures and architectures. In this study, it was focused on Art-Deco movement that was started in 1920's France and was widely developed. Besides it was found out principles and characters of this style, and was made analysis and sense of the characteristic about formative language of Art-Deco on the relation with contemporary fine art and architecture. As the result, the origin of Art-Deco is characterized by three categories : abstraction, mystery and symbolism. The Art-Deco furniture design symbolized by the desire to pursue both splendor and elegance is French style pragmatism in progress toward Modern design.

Minimalism combines the adjective 'minimal' and the suffix 'ism', and was first coined in the 1960s. Minimalism draws on the belief that when the use of artistic skills and adaptation is minimized and only the essentials or core is expressed, the discrepancy or distance between reality and art can be kept to a minimum; and thus, true reality can be achieved. To realize minimalism, artists creating paintings, sculptures and other forms of visual art eliminate unnecessary elements and strip objects to its essentials. And hence, most minimalist artwork used minimum amount of color and focused on expressing the geometric essence of objects. Such simplistic styles of minimalism can be seen today in various designs. Apple's iPod design and other product designs as well as graphic designs are just few of the examples. Drawing on the spirit of minimalism, Icongraphics pursues beauty and pleasure in the minimal use of color and form. And what lies beneath Icongraphics' artistic style is its pursuit of simplistic essentials, sending a strong message to the digitalized and complex lives of modern people.

The modern architecture has to find more essential configuration order rather than the spatial order in the reasonable feint. In other side, paintings and sculptures as a part of the building in the past become a pure art and develop an abstract art. Also they make many affects on the modern architecture as a paradigm. New material has brought to the new forms and the changes of the overall culture and art. One of the new changes has made the object that is one of unique culture symptoms in the 20C and the general part of the modem art includes it. The wall that limits the inside area through mass and volume before the recent times had treated as the object to express the special mean and character. However, the wall has developed as a component that consists of the internal space through surface and volume rather than mass or structure since the recent times. Now, I survey the objective tendency of the wall in the modem interior architecture mainly focused on the relation between object in the abstract art and wall inside.

A slight asymmetry exists in Korean beslls due to decorative sculptures, carved figures and casting irregularities. In this study, the influence of the asymmetry on the bell's best frequencies and mode shapes is studied by using finite element method and modal testing. Also measurement techniques of nodal lines and damping ratios of bells with very small beat frequencies are discussed.

This paper tried to identify recognition and historical background about western table decoration. For the study, the documentary study would be accomplished. the range of time was during Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Neo-classic period, and the range of space was among Italy, France, and England. Styles for example architectures, interior designs, arts, and sculptures represented their own period, and had great influences on eating habits, and the eating habits would be influent on kitchen utensils. As a results of the fact, the structural elements and decoration of table would be showed different characteristics according to periods of time. Today's food cultural trends consisted of consumption, taste, sense, and consumers' demands become diversified, so the paper would be an important data to understand new designs proper for our own modem sense that cope with modem feeling.

Recently, there has been an increasing demand for electric equipment installed on the ground to be installed in an underground space. Accordingly, U-CDS (Underground-Compact Distribution Station) installed in the underground is supplied, and to improve its weak ventilation performance, an Airdam-type structure was applied and the effect was analyzed. As a result, the temperature around the transformer was reduced by up to 9.5 degrees, and the air flow increased by up to 1.17 m/s. Airdam structure can be supplied in the form of various sculptures because it is possible to design freely while maintaining its principle.
