STAD학습에서 복합보상이 학업성취도와 학습태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Complex Reward in STAD Learning on Academic Achievement and Learning Attitudes)

  • A cooperative teaming has been taken to consolidate the autonomous motivation of students and to develop a desirable attitude in a mutual cooperative atmosphere. Some studies on the reward effect showed that the reward after the evaluation, in the processes of cooperative learning, worked on students' learning motive directly, and the group reward was effective in learning attitude and the individual reward in academic achievement, respectively. Assuming that the group reward and the individual reward are organized and applied as a complex reward, the effects of rewards will appear, this study examined the effect of the complex reward on academic achievement and teaming attitude. For this study. 2 classes were randomly selected out of a elementary school in Gwangju and the teaming unit was based on chapter 4「The structure and function of plants」 in the 5-1 elementary Science textbook. This research has been done for 4 weeks after the students learned STAD for 8 weeks previously. The learning attitude was examined in pre and post tests, and the academic achievement was inspected twice at 2-week intervals after the pre test. The results were analysized by the SAS program In the case of academic achievement, both groups showed a significant improvement(p<.05). The experimental group showed no significant improvement in the first test, compared with the control group(p>.05), but after 4 weeks, it showed a significant improvement in the second test, compared with the control group(p<.05). From this result, it is identified that the reward should be done for a long time and the individual reward of the complex reward is successful in improving academic achievement. However, in the case of learning attitude, there was no meaningful difference in both groups(p>.05). But the control group showed a significant improvement, compared with the experimental group(p<.05). According to this result, it is indicated that the group reward only is more effective in improving learning attitude and complex reward can decrease the individual competition in experimental group.

협동학습 과정에서의 언어적 행동과 학업 성취도와의 관계 (The Relationships between Verbal Behaviors and Academic Achievement in Cooperative Learning)

  • 본 연구에서는 중학교 1학년 37명을 대상으로 과학 수업에서 협동학습을 실시하고 소집단 협동학습 과정을 녹음/녹화하였다. 이를 토대로 협동학습 과정에서 발생하는 언어적 행동 유형을 범주화하고 이들과 학업 성취도 사이의 관계를 조사하였다. 학생들의 언어적 행동은 크게 학습 내용과 관련된 행동 및 조 활동 관리와 관련된 행동으로 구분되었다. 학습 내용과 관련된 행동은 도움 주기, 문제 읽기, 도움 요청하기로 세분되었으며, 이 중 도움 주기 행동이 가장 많았다. 학생들의 언어적 행동과 학업 성취도 사이의 단순 상관 관계를 조사한 결과, 도움 주기와 문제 읽기 행동이 학업 성취도와 정적인 상관이 있었다. 도움 주기 중 구체적인 내용을 제공하는 행동은 학업 성취도와 매우 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 한편, 부분 상관을 통하여 언어적 행동과 학업 성취도 향상과의 관계를 조사한 결과, 상위 수준의 사고를 요하는 적용 영역 성취도의 향상만이 구체적인 내용 제공하기를 비롯한 일부 언어적 행동과 정적인 상관이 있었다.

An Analysis of University Academic Achievements of Students Based on Gender - Focusing on the Department of Computer Engineering -

  • The purposes of this study were to measure university academic achievement based on gender. We analyzed university academic achievement based on gender. The subjects for this analysis were 322 students from freshmen to seniors who received grades in their first semester in the computer engineering department at a university located in the Chungcheong area. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, the average university academic achievement was 3.01. Second, the university academic achievement of female students was higher than that of male students in the entire curriculum, liberal arts, and major subjects. Students showed higher academic achievement when their grades rose. Male students showed higher rate of rise when their grades rose compared to female students. This paper proposes that it is necessary to develop programs to further adaption to university life for males. Since male students showed significantly lower university academic achievement, various programs like counseling and mentoring are needed.

상호작용에 따른 논증수업이 고등학생들의 학업성취도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Argumentation Lessons according to Interaction on High School Students' Academic Achievement)

  • This study aims to find out the argument structure which appears in the type of argument class (teacher- and student-centered) of the high school. The argument structure was compared and analyzed according to analyzing the study achievement and verified the academic achievement related to climate change. The results are listed below. First, the student-centered class is more effective method through the result that analyzed the class type of the teacher in argument-centered class. This result is to suggest more effective method to revitalize the argument activity of students-centered class which students plan for themselves and find more various materials. Second, teacher-centered class is more effective in contrast with argument analysis in the academic achievement test. While this is why the teacher-centered class utilizes an essential data necessary to curriculum in the argumentation, the elements to form the argument increased because students utilized the materials with their interest and concern in the process of proving in the student-centered class. Through the results of the research, it is necessary to develop the argument-centered programs for the science class and the curriculum-centered materials for argument class activity.

MBL 시범 수업이 초등학생의 학업성취도, 과학탐구능력 및 정의적 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Study on the influence of MBL Exhibition Class on the Eelementary school students' Academic Achievement, Scientific Research Abilities and Affective Characters)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of MBL Exhibition Class on the Elementary School students' academic achievement, scientific research abilities and affective characters. For the purpose, three classes were sampled in the 5th grade of an elementary school. Among the three classes, two were designated as the comparative classes consisted of 68 students and the other was the experimental class, 33 students. The comparative classes were given lessens according to the content presented in the textbook of 7th Education Curriculum and the experimental class was given re-built lessons with using MBL machines. Before and after giving lessons, students of both classes took a test for science academic achievement. And also the scientific research abilities and affective characters were examined. The conclusions from this study is as follows. First, according to the result of science academic achievement test after giving lessons, the mean of the experimental class was higher than that of the comparative classes meaningfully. Second, scientific research abilities of the experimental class was shown higher than that of the comparative classes meaningfully. Specially, basic research abilities were improved very meaningfully and only hypothesis-building ability was improved among integrated research abilities. Third, it doesn't seem that MBL exhibition class is effective on affective characters(interest, attitudes).

제3차 수학.과학 성취도 국제 비교 반복 연구의 지구과학 성취도 분석 (An Analysis of Korean Middle School Students' Achievement of Earth Science in TIMSS-R)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 1999년에 38개국이 참가하여 시행된, 제3차 수학 과학 성취도 국제비교 반복연구(TIMSS-R) 중 지구과학 영역 성취도를 분석하는 것이다. 우리 나라 중학교 2학년 학생의 지구과학 영역의 성취도를 외국 및 다른 과학 영역과 비교하고, 소영역별로 각 문학의 정답율을 분석하였다. 우리 나라의 경우, 지구과학 영역은 의도한 교육과정에서 100% 다루어지고 있을 뿐만 아니라 실행된 교육과정을 통하여 대부분의 학생들이 학습하였다. 우리 나라 지구과학 성적이 국제 평균보다는 유의미하게 높지만 과학전체 성적에 비해서는 낮았다. 한편 지구과학 지도에 대한 교사들의 자신감이 타 과학영여게 비하여 부족하였다. 논문은 문항 수준에서의 분석 결과와 이들이 과학 교육에 주는 시사점을 제시하였다.

초등과학 수업에서 자연 나눔 학습 방법의 적용 효과 - 4학년 식물 단원을 중심으로- (The Effects of Sharing Nature Learning Program in Elementary Science Class - Focused the Plants Units of the 4th Grade)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the learning program using sharing nature that can be utilized in Korean elementary science classes and explore the its effects of science academic achievement, inquiry ability, scientific attitude of students after applying it. Sharing Nature used a playful and inspirational teaching strategy and was named after Flow Learning based on universal principles of how people learn. To examine the effects of Sharing Nature Learning Program this learning materials were applied to elementary science curriculum, and an experimental group and a control group were selected from 4th graders at a elementary school located in Icheon City, Gyeong-gi province. The results of this study found significant difference in the student's enhancement of the science academic achievement, inquiry ability, scientific attitude. In conclusion, Sharing Nature Learning Program is useful to develop the elementary school student's science academic achievement, inquiry ability, scientific attitude and had better be widely applied to science education.

TIMSS 2015에서 과학 성취도와 흥미에 영향을 주는 교육맥락변인 분석 (Effects of Educational Context Variables on Science Achievement and Interest in TIMSS 2015)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 TIMSS 2015 결과를 분석하여 성취수준별로 학생들의 과학성취도와 흥미에 영향을 주는 교육맥락변인을 탐색하고 집단 특성에 맞는 교수 학습 방법을 도출하려는 것이다. 과학 성취와 흥미에 미치는 교육맥락변인의 영향력을 비교하기 위해 위계선형모형에 의한 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 4학년 과학성취도의 경우에는 우수수준 이상 학생들의 성취도에 영향을 주는 변인은 도서보유량, 부모학력, 수업에 대한 학생 인식이었고, 보통수준 이하 학생들의 성취도에 영향을 주는 변인은 도서 보유량으로 확인되었다. 8학년 과학성취도의 경우에는 우수수준 이상 학생들의 성취도에 영향을 주는 변인은 도서 보유량, 수업에 대한 학생 인식, 재학생의 경제적 배경으로 확인되었고, 보통수준 이하 학생들의 성취도에 영향을 주는 변인은 도서 보유량과 과학 수업에 대한 학생 인식으로 확인되었다. 학년을 막론하고 도서 보유량과 과학 수업에 대한 학생 인식은 학생의 과학 성취도와 흥미에 주는 영향력이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 연구결과를 토대로 우리나라 초등학교와 중학교 과학과 교수학습에 주는 시사점을 모든 학생들을 위한 체계적인 독서 프로그램 제공, 중학교 학생참여형 과학 수업을 활성화, 초등학교 보통수준 이하의 학생들을 위한 탐구실험 체험과 개념 연계 수업 등의 측면에서 제안하였다.

초등학교 과학 수업에서 학생들의 수행 목표 지향성 수준에 따른 협동 학습의 효과 (The Effects of Cooperative Learning by Students' Performance Goal Orientation in Elementary Science Classes)

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of cooperative learning by the levels of students' performance goal orientation in science classes on 6th graders' science achievement and science learning motivation. Two classes (47 students) from an elementary school were respectively assigned to a control group and a treatment group. A performance goal orientation test and a science learning motivation test were administered as pretests. The intervention of cooperative learning lasted for 24 class periods. A researcher-made achievement test and the science learning motivation test were administered after the instructions. ANCOVA results indicated that the score of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group in the achievement test. However, no interaction was found between the cooperative learning treatment and the levels of students' performance goal orientation. There were significant aptitude-treatment interactions in science learning motivation.

몰입에 기반한 학습이 과학 학업성취도 및 과학에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Learning Based Flow Theory on Scientific Achievement and Attitude toward Science)

  • The Purpose of this study is searching the effect of the flow level increasing by using flow learning on scientific achievement and attitude toward science in 4rd grade elementary school student's scientific learning factors, and the better way to approach scientific institude than now in used. Participants included 52 elementary school students. For this study, two classes were divided into experimental class and control class. The control class takes a regular instructions and the experimental class takes a flow learning instructions. Two chapter were selected, 'Plant's World' and 'Fossil and Rock', for this study. Students were treated for 18 hours. The results were as follows: First, flow learning related program about plant's world, fossil and rock is increasing 4rd grade elementary school students' flow level in science class. Second, students are not increasing their scientific achievement according to increasing their flow level. Third, students are not increasing their attitude toward science according to increasing their flow level. But in attitude toward scientific inquiry, adoption of attitude toward science and preference of job related science subordinated, students are increasing subordinate factors of attitude toward science.
