Effect of Self-esteem and Life satisfaction on Quality of life of Elderly School Program Participants (노인대학의 프로그램 참여 노인들의 자아존중감과 생활만족도가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the effect of self-esteem, life satisfaction and quality of life of older people's in an elderly school program. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with a survey of 269 older people in 3 elderly schools at G city from November 29, 2013 to 18. The data was analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression using the SPSS WIN 20.0 program. As a research finding, an analysis of the quality of life between of the self-esteem (r=-.338, p<.001) and life satisfaction (r=-.507, p<.001) revealed significant correlations. The life satisfaction was the significant factor influencing the quality of life (${\beta}$=-.512, p< .001) and this variable explained 25.1% of the quality of life. The findings of this study should be integrated into elderly health and care services in the community and older people in elderly school programs to improve the quality of life through the systematic developments of intervention programs for health care.

  • The objective of the research which it sees life style of the individual and is the stroke engineering military merit satisfaction to examine the relationship. That Adler talked, it classified life style with the socially useful type, the ruling type, the getting type and the avoiding type. The results are as following. 1. the types of Life-style ; the ruling type 31.3%, the getting type & the avoiding type 27.4%, the negative social type 26.6%, the socially useful type 14.8%. 2. the Major satisfaction ; the socially useful type 3.59, the ruling type 3.55, the negative social type 3.51, the getting type and the avoiding type 3.35. 3. the Campus life satisfaction ; the socially useful type 3.39, the ruling type 3.32, the negative social type 3.24, the getting type and the avoiding type 3.12.

The Effect of Appearance Satisfaction, Interpersonal Relationships on Life Satisfaction of Middle-Aged People (중장년의 외모 만족도, 대인관계가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to increase life satisfaction of middle-aged people by verifying the influence relationship between appearance satisfaction and life satisfaction and the mediating effect of interpersonal relationships. The subjects of the survey were middle-aged people aged 50 to 64, and data were collected through online and offline surveys for 10 days from August 15, 2021, focusing on the metropolitan area. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, PROCESS MACRO Model Number 4, and Bootstrapping were conducted using statistical programs SPSS WIN 25.0 and PROCESS MACRO. The results of the study showed that first, the appearance satisfaction of the middle-aged had a positive (+) effect on life satisfaction. Second, interpersonal relationships had a partial mediating effect. Based on the results, it is meaningful in that it presented practical and policy suggestions that can increase appearance satisfaction and interpersonal relationships in improving life satisfaction of middle-aged people.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting adaptation to school life of freshmen enrolled in nursing at a Junior College. Method: The data were collected from questionnaires filled out by 312 nursing students in two schools at J and I city from March 7-11, 2011. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN18 program. Result: Self-esteem and adaptation to school life were higher than previous advanced research showed, self-efficacy was moderate and stress to school life was lower than other studies. School adaptation level was related to satisfaction of friendship, school life and the nursing program. The subjects who have chosen nursing by themselves and male students scored higher in their school adaptation. The greatest factors affecting adaptation to school life were satisfaction of school life and stress respectively. Conclusion: Inpre-admission, enough information about nursing school life through experience of previous students must be given. Then, a school adaptation program which incorporates counseling and mentoring should be provided for supporting understanding of school life.

Emotion Regulation Style and Parent Attachment : Effects on Adolescents' Satisfaction with Life (정서조절 양식과 부모 애착이 청소년의 생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • Subjects were 2192 middle and high school students of Seoul and Kyonggi Province. Data, consisting of a self-report questionnaire, were analyzed by two-way ANOVA, univariate F-test and stepwise multiple regression. Findings were that boys showed more avoidance/distraction and active problem solving styles but less support seeking than girls. Older adolescents reported less parent attachment than younger adolescents; girls reported more mother attachment than boys. Older adolescents reported more life satisfaction than younger adolescents; girls reported more life satisfaction than boys. A higher degree of life satisfaction was reported by subjects with more parent attachment, more active problem solving and less avoidance/distraction styles, by younger adolescents, and by girls. Degree of parent attachment was the most powerful predictor of adolescents' satisfaction with life.

Study on School Life Adaptation of Middle School Students who are Beneficiary of Educational Welfare Service (교육복지서비스 이용 중학생의 학교생활적응에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine if there is any difference due to the general characteristics of middle school students who are beneficiaries of educational welfare services and a special quality of use about educational welfare services. Additionally, the examination has been performed to understand the relationship that exists between the satisfaction about educational welfare services, and adaptation to school life and self-respect of middle school students who are beneficiaries of educational welfare services. The results of the study showed meaningful higher scores by male students than female students only in the environmental adaptation area among lower areas in school life adaptation due to sex. Due to school year, third-year students showed meaningful high scores in school life adaptation. The satisfaction about programs in each area of educational welfare services of middle school students who are beneficiaries of educational welfare services showed a meaningful static relationship with school life adaptation. The inspection of the relationship between satisfaction about educational welfare services and 5 lower areas of school life adaptation showed statistically meaningful results in the order of adaptation to the teacher, adaptation to the environment and adaptation to the class, which are lower areas. The examination on the relationship between self-respect and adaptation to school life showed that self-respect has a static relationship with all lower areas of school life and overall school life adaptation. However, no meaningful relationship was shown between the satisfaction about educational welfare services and self-respect. Also, it was found that the factors of grade, self-respect, the number of service utilization have an effect on school life adaptation. This study has some limitations. But in this study, which is different from other studies which dealt with students who had used partial areas of educational welfare services, students who were using all 4 areas of educational welfare services were selected as subjects. In addition, this study is significant in that basic data has been offered for establishment of a policy on educational welfare services in middle schools in the future.

  • The aims of this study was to investigate the satisfactions with school food service and its influencing factors for elementary and middle school parents. We surveyed parents regarding their concerns about food ingredients and dietary life, perceptions of free school food service, the necessity of food supply systems such as school food service centers, and the satisfaction about the quality and management of school food services. Compared to the last year, concerns about food ingredients and dietary life as well as perceptions about free school food services decreased. The reported necessity of supply system such as school food service centers and co-purchasing was lower than in 2015. The satisfaction about the school food service decreased, compared to 2015. More individuals had higher concerns about local food and stated the necessity for school food supply systems, as well as a higher satisfaction about the quality and management of school food services. In conclusion, it is important to emphasize characteristics of school food services such as co-purchasing local foods.

  • The objectives of this study were to analyze change in life satisfaction of Korean elderly, to find determinants of it in an aging society, and to suggest ways of improving their life satisfaction. Data used in this study were from 1994, 2004, 2008 national survey results on the elderly life conditions and welfare need conducted by the Korea Institute for Health Social Affairs and Keimyung University, which were collected from 1,371, 3,278, 3,009 elderly people aged 65 and over who answered regarding their life satisfaction each year. Data were analyzed by multiple regression method. The results of analysis showed that the general life satisfaction of Koreans elderly is higher than average and is decreasing year after year. Determinants of life satisfaction for Korean elderly can be divided in two factors: common factors(i.e. subjective economic and health conditions) and flexible factors(i.e. marital status, employment status, perceptions of aging). Implications for designing services and service systems for elderly families were discussed.

The Effects of Physical Health Awareness and Depression on Life Satisfaction in Middle aged: Mediating Effects of Self-esteem (중장년의 주관적 신체건강인식과 우울이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for improving life satisfaction by verifying the mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between physical health awareness, depression, self-esteem, and life satisfaction of middle-aged. Analysis data were collected through online and offline questionnaires for 320 middle-aged people for 10 days from August 15, 2021, and the SPSS WIN 23.0 program was used. As for the analysis method, frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, and correlation analysis Baron & Kenny (1986) were performed in three stages of regression analysis. The research results showed First, that physical health awareness and depression of middle-aged people had a statistically significant effect on life satisfaction. Second, in the relationship between physical health awareness and life satisfaction, self-esteem showed a partial mediating effect. Third, in the relationship between depression and life satisfaction, self-esteem showed a partial mediating effect. In other words, in order to improve life satisfaction for middle-aged people, the basis for improving physical health awareness and self-esteem and reducing depression was prepared, and implications and suggestions for practice were presented.

  • The purposes of this study were to find out the effect of children's and adolescents' achievement through the online game on their self-efficacy, school adjustment and life satisfaction in accordance with the degree of their online game playing. In heavy user group, children's and adolescents' achievement through the internet game had positive effect on their self-efficacy, school adjustment and life satisfaction. Also their self-efficacy mediated the relationship between their achievement through the online game and school adjustment, achievement through the online game and life satisfaction. This study investigated the fact that children's and adolescents' achievement through the online game affects their real life and found out positive possibility of the online game.
