Recently, construction work period reduction is a very important topic of construction business circles. Because that is just big cost reduction. There is an important part of construction to decide the removal time of form. For prediction strength for removal form, P type schmidt hammer method and maturity method is used that. In case early strength prediction of maturity method, that is problem. Because setting duration of concrete is not proper considering. So this experimental study is a coefficient(A) of maturity method.

This paper presents experimental research work for the evaluation of one-dimensional and two-dimensional acoustic source locations with 50m length of a precast prestressed concrete box girder. Acoustic events are generated by the impacts of Schmidt Hammer and the impact signals are detected by acoustic emission sensors mounted on the concrete web surface of PSC box girder with the average spacing of 9.34m. Based on the amplitude of detected acoustic signals, considering the noises developed in PSC box girder bridges, the arrival times of acoustic signals are estimated by the first arrival times of 0Volt, 0.5Volt, and 1.0Volt amplitude in each signal. Using Least Square Method, the velocities and the source locations of acoustic signals are evaluated. Based on the test results, the spacing of AE sensors and the AE sensor networks are discussed to reduce the source location errors.

Televiewer is a logging tool capable of scanning the borehole wall. The tool uses a rotating acoustic beam generator that acts as both a transmitter and receiver. The beams are sent toward the wall. The amplitude of a returning signal from the wall has nearly a linear relationship with the reflection coefficient R of the borehole wall, when the wall is smooth. As R depends only on rock impedance for fixed water impedance, the amplitude is directly associated with mass density and seismic velocity of rock. Meanwhile, the amplitude can be further reduced by wall roughness that may be caused by drilling procedures, differences in rock hardness, because the rough surface can easily scatter the acoustic energy and sometimes the hole becomes elongated in all directions according to the degree of weathering. In this sense, the amplitude is related to the hardness of rocks. For convenience of analysis, the measured amplitude image(2-D data(azimuth ${\times}$ depth)) is converted, with an appropriate algorithm, to the 1-D data(depth), where the amplitude image values along a predetermined fracture signature(sinusoid) are summed up and averaged. The resulting values are subsequently scaled simply by a scalar factor that is possibly consistent with a known strength. This scaled Televiewer reflectivity is named, as a matter of convenience,“Televiewer rock strength”. This paper shows, based on abundant representative case studies from about 8 years of Televiewer surveys, that Televiewer rock strength might be regarded, on a continuous basis with depth, as a quitely robust indicator of rock classification and in most cases as an approximate uniaxial strength that is comparable to the rebound value from Schmidt hammer test.
Besides their spiritual significance, minarets are humanity's cultural heritage to the future generations due to their historical and architectural attraction. Currently, many historical masonry minarets are damaged and destroyed due to several reasons such as earthquakes and wind. Therefore, safety of these religiously significant buildings needs to be thoroughly investigated. The utmost care must be taken into account while investigating these structures. Our study investigated earthquake behavior of historical masonry minaret of Haci Mahmut Mosque. Destructive and non-destructive tests were carried out to determine earthquake safety of this structure. Brick-stone masonry material properties of structure were determined by accomplishing ultrasonic wave velocity, Schmidt Hammer, uniaxial compression (UAC) and indirect tension (Brazilian) tests. Determined material properties were used in the finite element analysis of the structure. To validate the numerical analysis, Operational Modal Analysis was applied to the structure and dynamic characteristics of the structure were determined. To this end, accelerometers were placed on the structure and vibrations due to environmental effects were followed. Finite element model of the minaret was updated using dynamic characteristics of the structure and the realistic numerical model of the structure was obtained. This numerical model was solved by using earthquake records of Turkey with time history analysis (THA) and the realistic earthquake behavior of the structure was introduced.

To analyze the present state of buildings suspended in Gangwon and estimate the compressive strength by visual inspection and Schmidt hammer method in order to analyze durability etc.. In this study, we analyzed the problems that existed in the location where construction is suspended and efficient management method. Expected construction restoration of construction will be restarted, and important parts of the construction site should be given the best protection measures so that the quality can be maintained thoroughly. The construction of the suspended construction is exposed to the freezing and thawing damage over time. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures such as maintenance, and take protective measures by establishing a plan to improve the durability of buildings that are under construction.
Steel anchor bolts are installed in concrete using a variety of methods. One of the most common methods of anchor bolt installation is using epoxy resin as an infill material injected into the drilled hole to act as a bonding material between the steel bolt and the surrounding concrete. Typical design standards assume uniform stress distribution along the length of the anchor bolt accompanied with single crack leading to pull-out failure. Experimental evidence has shown that the steel anchor bolts fail owing to the multiple failure patterns, hence these design assumptions are not realistic. In this regard, the presented research work details the analytical model that takes into consideration multiple micro cracks in the infill material induced via impact loading. The impact loading from the Schmidt hammer is used to evaluate the bond condition bond condition of anchor bolt and the epoxy material. The added advantage of the presented analytical model is that it is able to take into account the various type of end conditions of the anchor bolts such as bent or U-shaped anchors. Through sensitivity analysis the optimum stiffness and shear strength properties of the epoxy infill material is achieved, which have shown to achieve lower displacement coupled with reduced damage to the surrounding concrete. The accuracy of the presented model is confirmed by comparing the simulated deformational responses with the experimental evidence. From the comparison it was found that the model was successful in simulating the experimental results. The proposed model can be adopted by professionals interested in predicting and controlling the deformational response of anchor bolts.
This study aims to investigate the influence of scoria aggregate (SA) and silica fume (SF) as a replacement of conventional aggregate and ordinary Portland cement (OPC), respectively. Three types of concrete were prepared namely normal weight concrete (NWC) using limestone aggregate (LSA) and OPC (control specimen), lightweight concrete (LWC) using SA and OPC, and LWC using SA and partial SF (SLWC). The representative workability and compressive strength properties of the developed concrete were evaluated, and the results were correlated with non-destructive ultrasonic pulse velocity and Schmidt hammer tests. The LWC and SLWC yielded compressive strength of around 30 MPa and 33 MPa (i.e., 78-86% of control specimens), respectively. The findings indicate that scoria can be beneficially utilized in the development of structural lightweight concrete. Present renewable sources of aggregate will preserve the natural resources for next generation. The newly produced eco-friendly construction material is intended to break price barriers in all markets and draw attraction of incorporating scoria based light weight construction in Saudi Arabia and GCC countries. Findings of the SWOT analysis indicate that high logistics costs for distributing the aggregates across different regions in Saudi Arabia and clients' resistant to change are among the major obstacles to the commercialized production and utilization of lightweight concrete as green construction material. The findings further revealed that huge scoria deposits in Saudi Arabia, and the potential decrease in density self-weight of structural elements are the major drivers and enablers for promoting the adoption of lightweight concrete as alternative green construction material in the construction sector.

Experimental tests were performed to estimate velocities of the acoustic signals through prestressed concrete beam and source locations using acoustic emission (AE) techniques. Seven AE sensors are mounted on the surface of 5m length test beam with equal spacing and using Schmidt Hammer AE events are made at 18 locations. The velocities of AE signals are estimated using the time differences of arrival times and the distances between the source locations and the AE sensor locations. In addition, using the Least Square Method, the AE source locations are re-evaluated reversely using both of the arrival times and the velocities of AE signals. Test results show the average velocity of the AE signals is about 4,000 m/sec and the velocity decreased with the increase of the distance from source locations to AE sensors due to the effect of attenuation. Based on the estimation of the source locations, it is observed that the errors of source locations are decreased when the velocities of each AE sensor are used rather than the average velocity.

The grain size characteristics of river sediments and the characteristics of bedrock were investigated for the 24km section of the Dong River upstream of the Han River. The bedrock of the study area is various limestone belonging to the Paleozoic Choseon limestone group, and Mesozoic sandstone and conglomerate occur in some areas. Most of the river channel is made of limestone, and most of the river bottom is covered with fluvial sediments. More than 70% of these sediments are sandstone and conglomerate, rather than limestone which forms the basis of the valley. Sediment particles seem to have been supplied upstream of the study area rather supplied from the slope near of the channel. It is difficult to find the statistically significant difference in the shape of the sediment particles of limestones and non-limestones. However, limestones has platy forms rather than block forms, it can be assumed that the limestone was supplied from the surrounding valley wall and transported over a short distance. The particle sizes of DG1~DG2(the upstream section) are decreasing in the downstream direction. However, at DG3, which is a tributary, Jijangcheon, confluence particle size increases and at DG4 particle size increases more. In the case of DG4, it may be influenced by the influx of tributaries, but it also can be supposed as the impact of the large flood in 2002. In the downstream parts(DG5~DG7), the particle size decreases exponentially with distance. The rebound strength of stream sediments and bedrock was measured by using Schmidt hammer. Limestone showed lower rebound strength than non-limestone. According to the results of the sediment and bedrock, it can be seen that the sandstone and conglomerate with high rebound values pass through valley with the relatively low strength limestone. The sediments of limestone were decreased in grain size more rapidly than those of limestone sediments.

This study evaluated a debris landform distribution potential area map in the southwest region of the Korean peninsula. A GIS spatial integration technique and logistic regression method were used to produce a distribution potential area map. Seven topographic and environmental factors were considered for analysis and 28 different data set were combined and used to get most effective results. Moreover, in an accuracy assessment, the extracted results of the Distribution Potential area were evaluated by conducting a cross-validation module. Block stream showed the highest accuracy in the combination No. 6, and that DEM (digital elevation model) and TWI (topographic wetness index) have relatively high influences on the production of the Block stream Distribution Potential area map. Talus showed the highest accuracy in the combination No. 13. We also found that slope, TWI and geology have relatively high influences on the production of the Talus Distribution Potential area map. In addition, fieldwork confirmed the accuracy of the input data that were used in this study, and the slope and geology were also similar. It was also determined that these input data were relatively accurate. In the case of angularity, the block stream was composed of sub-rounded and sub-angular systems and Talus showed differences according to the terrain formation. Although the results of the rebound strain measurement using a Schmidt's hammer did not shown any difference in topographic conditions, it is determined that the rebound strain results reflected the underlying geological setting.
