  • 최근 제조 분야의 미래 유망기술이자, 막대한 파급효과를 유발할 것으로 예상되는 3D 프린터에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있으며, 3D 프린터 제품 가격의 하락에 따른 다양한 형태의 제품 보급이 확산되고 있다. 그러나 현재 보급되고 있는 개인용 3D 프린터는 기술적 성능의 한계점에 따라 높은 가공 정밀도를 요구하지 않는 단순한 형태의 사출물 출력에 사용되고 있으며 소비자 만족도가 매우 낮다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 3D 프린터의 한계점을 극복하기 위해 정밀도가 높은 SLA 방식의 3D 프린터 사출방식과 사무용 레이저 프린터의 LSU(Laser Scanning Unit)를 융합한 폴리곤 미러 스캐닝 방식의 3D프린터를 제안하였다. 제안하는 3D프린터는 정밀도와 제조 속도를 개선하여 기존의 보급형 3D프린터를 대체할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Does the palatal vault form have an influence on the scan time and accuracy of intraoral scans of completely edentulous arches? An in-vitro study

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of different palatal vault configurations on the accuracy and scan speed of intraoral scans (IO) of completely edentulous arches. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Three different virtual models of a completely edentulous maxillary arch with different palatal vault heights- Cl I moderate (U-shaped), Cl II deep (steep) and Cl III shallow (flat)-were digitally designed using CAD software (Meshmixer; Autodesk, USA) and 3D-printed using SLA-based 3D-printer (XFAB; DWS, Italy) (n = 30; 10 specimens per group). Each model was scanned using intraoral scanner (Trios 3; 3ShapeTM, Denmark). Scanning time was recorded for all samples. Scanning accuracy (trueness and precision) were evaluated using digital subtraction technique using Geomagic Control X v2020 (Geomagic; 3DSystems, USA). One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was used to detect differences in scanning time, trueness and precision among the test groups. Statistical significance was set at α = .05. RESULTS. The scan process could not be completed for Class II group and manufacturer's recommended technique had to be modified. ANOVA revealed no statistically significant difference in trueness and precision values among the test groups (P=.959 and P=.658, respectively). Deep palatal vault (Cl II) showed significantly longer scan time compared to Cl I and III. CONCLUSION. The selection of scan protocol in complex cases such as deep palatal vault is of utmost importance. The modified, adopted longer path scan protocol of deep vault cases resulted in increased scan time when compared to the other two groups.

Multi-scale calibration of a line-style sand pluviator

  • A newly developed line-style sand pluviator has been calibrated to prepare repeatable sand specimens of specific statuses of compactness and homogeneity for laboratory tests. Sand is falling via a bottom slot of a fixed hopper, and by moving the sample container under the slot, the container is evenly filled with sand. The pluviator is designed with high flexibility: The falling height of sand, the hopper's opening width and the relative moving speed between the hopper and the sample box can be easily adjusted. By changing these control factors, sand specimens of a wide range of densities can be prepared. A series of specimen preparation was performed using the coarse Merwede River sand. Performance of the pluviator was systematically evaluated by exploring the alteration of achievable density, as well as checking the homogeneity and fabric of the prepared samples by CT scanning. It was found that the density of prepared coarse sand samples has monotonic correlations with none of the three control factors. Furthermore, CT scanning results suggested that the prepared samples exhibited excellent homogeneity in the horizontal direction but periodical alteration of density in the vertical direction. Based on these calibration test results, a preliminary hypothesis is proposed to describe the general working principles of this type of pluviators a priori, illustrating the mechanisms dominating the non-monotonic correlations between control factors and the relative density as well as the vertically prevalent heterogeneity of specimens. Accordingly, practical recommendations are made in a unified framework in order to lessen the load of similar calibration work.

3차원 실장용 TSV 고속 Cu 충전 및 Non-PR 범핑 (High-Speed Cu Filling into TSV and Non-PR Bumping for 3D Chip Packaging)

  • TSV(through-silicon-via)를 이용한 3차원 Si 칩 패키징 공정 중 전기 도금을 이용한 비아 홀 내 Cu 고속 충전과 범핑 공정 단순화에 관하여 연구하였다. DRIE(deep reactive ion etching)법을 이용하여 TSV를 제조하였으며, 비아홀 내벽에 $SiO_2$, Ti 및 Au 기능 박막층을 형성하였다. 전도성 금속 충전에서는 비아 홀 내 Cu 충전율을 향상시키기 위하여 PPR(periodic-pulse-reverse) 전류 파형을 인가하였으며, 범프 형성 공정에서는 리소그라피(lithography) 공정을 사용하지 않는 non-PR 범핑법으로 Sn-3.5Ag 범프를 형성하였다. 전기 도금 후, 충전된 비아의 단면 및 범프의 외형을 FESEM(field emission scanning electron microscopy)으로 관찰하였다. 그 결과, Cu 충전에서는 -9.66 $mA/cm^2$의 전류밀도에서 60분간의 도금으로 비아 입구의 도금층 과성장에 의한 결함이 발생하였고, -7.71 $mA/cm^2$에서는 비아의 중간 부분에서의 도금층 과성장에 의한 결함이 발생하였다. 또한 결함이 생성된 Cu 충전물 위에 전기 도금을 이용하여 범프를 형성한 결과, 범프의 모양이 불규칙하고, 균일도가 감소함을 나타내었다.

PERFORMANCE TEST FOR A PDS MICRODENSITOMETER MODEL 1010GMS

  • The electrical, mechanical and optical capabilities have been tested of the microdensitometer PDS 1010GMS at the Korea Astronomy Observatory. The highest stage of scan speed 255 csu (conventional speed unit) is measured to be 47 mm/s. At this speed the position is displaced by $4{\mu}m$ to the direction of scanning and the density is underestimated by $0.4{\sim}0.7D$. Standard deviation in the measured density is proportional to $A^{-0.46}$, where A is the area of scan aperture. The accuracy of position repeatability is ${\pm}1{\mu}m$, and that of density repeatability is ${\pm}(0.003{\sim}0.03)D$. Callier coefficient is determined to be 1.37; the semispecular density is directly proportional to the diffuse density up to 3.5D. Because the logarithmic amplifier has a finite response time, the densities measured at high scan speeds are underestimated to the degree that speeds higher than 200 csu are inadequate for making an accurate astronomical photometry. After power is on, an about 5 hour period of warming is required to stabilize the system electrically and mechanically as well. On the basis of this performance test, we have determined the followings as the optimum scan parameters for the astronomical photometry: For the scan aperture $10\;\sim\;20{\mu}m$ is optimal, and for the scan speed. $20\;{\sim}\;50$ csu is appropriate. These parameter values are chosen in such a way that they may keep the density repeatability within ${\pm}0.01D$, the position displacement under $1{\mu}m$, and the density underestimation below 0.1D even in high density regions.

광위상 변조기를 이용한 RSOD 개발 (Development of RSOD using optical phase modulator)

  • 광간섭계는 물체의 기하학적 구조 및 의료 계측등 다양한 분야의 광계측에서 매우 일반적으로 사용된다. 이러한 광간섭계에서 광지연단은 측정대상의 기준을 위해 사용되고. 광간섭계의 계측속도는 광지연단에 의해 제한된다. 본 논문에서는 고속 광지연단을 위해 기존의 기계적 방식을 배제하고, 광학적 방식의 광 간섭계를 구성하였다. 고속 광간섭계의 구성은 1304nm의 10GHz광원을 이용하였으며, 광지연단으로 광위상변조기와 광섬유를 이용하여 안정적이고 고속의 광 간섭계를 구성하였다. 구성된 광간섭계는 광위상변조기의 변조전압, 변조주파수에 의해 광지연시간을 가변할 수 있으며, 10MHz 반복율에 대해 11ps의 광지연시간을 얻을 수 있었다.

고속 전차선로 드로퍼에 대한 기계적 하중에 관한 연구 (Mechanical Loads of Dropper for High Speed Electric Railway)

  • 드로퍼는 전차선로에서 여러형태의 클램프로 취부되어 전차선이 수평으로 유지하도록 지지하고, 판토그라프가 통과할 때 굽힘에 대한 기계적 응력에 영향을 받는다. 고속선용 드로퍼의 파단 원인을 조사하기 위해, 이론적 분석 및 시험을 실행하였다. 본 논문에서 사전이도에 의한 드로퍼의 정적 하중을 계산하였고, 시험에서 측정된 값과 유사하였다. 드로퍼 와이어의 파단원인을 분석하기 위해 현장에서 파단된 시료는 SEM 분석을 하였고, 새 시료도 일부 병행하며 시행하였다. 마지막으로, 고속열차가 300km/h로 통과할 때 드로퍼에 대한 동적 하중의 변화를 측정하였다. 기계적 하중이 반복적으로 발생될 때, 드로퍼 와이어는 피로에 의해 파단될 것이다. 이 결과는 고속전차선로 유지보수의 특별 관리와 드로퍼의 수명평가를 하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

무전해 Ni-P 두께와 Assembly Process가 Solder Ball Joint의 신뢰성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Electroless Ni-P Thickness and Assembly Process on Solder Ball Joint Reliability)

  • The ability of electronic packages and assemblies to resist solder joint failure is becoming a growing concern. This paper reports on a study of high speed shear energy of Sn-4.0wt%Ag-0.5wt%Cu (SAC405) solder with different electroless Ni-P thickness, with $HNO_3$ vapor's status, and with various pre-conditions. A high speed shear testing of solder joints was conducted to find a relationship between the thickness of Ni-P deposit and the brittle fracture in electroless Ni-P deposit/SAC405 solder interconnection. A focused ion beam (FIB) was used to polish the cross sections to reveal details of the microstructure of the fractured pad surface with and without $HNO_3$ vapor treatment. A scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and an energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDS) confirmed that there were three intermetallic compound (IMC) layers at the SAC405 solder joint interface: $(Ni,Cu)_3Sn_4$ layer, $(Ni,Cu)_2SnP$ layer, and $(Ni,Sn)_3P$ layer. The high speed shear energy of SAC405 solder joint with $3{\mu}m$ Ni-P deposit was found to be lower in pre-condition level#2, compared to that of $6{\mu}m$ Ni-P deposit. Results of focused ion beam and energy dispersive x-ray analysis of the fractured pad surfaces support the suggestion that the brittle fracture of $3{\mu}m$ Ni-P deposit is the result of Ni corrosion in the pre-condition level#2 and the $HNO_3$ vapor treatment.

코로나방전 표면 처리시 이동속도 및 공급전력 변화에 따른 폴리프로필렌 표면 안전성 특성 (Surface Safety Characteristics of Polypropylene Surface Treatment by Variation of Rolling Speed and The Electric Power of Corona Discharge)

  • Experiments were carried out the phenomenal observation on effect of corona treated hotmelt laminating film in process of manufacture by 2 kinds of rolling speed and electric power variatons. Surface treatment by corona which is exposure of film surface to electron of ion bombardment, rather than mere exposure to active species, like atomic oxygen or ozone, can enhance adhesion by removing contaminant, electret, roughening surface, and introducing reactive chemical group. Reactive neutrals, ions, electron and photons generated during the corona treatment interact simultaneously with polymers to alter surface chemical composition, wettability, and thus film adhesion. However, it is highly recommended that extensive chains scission is avoided because it can lead to side-effect by forming sticky matter, resulting in dropouts. This paper reviews principles of surface preparation of polypropylene substrate by corona discharging. In addition, the experimental section provides a description of parameter optimization on corona discharging treatment and its side-effect. Experimental results are discussed in terms of surface wetting as determined by contact angle and SEM measurements. When the rolling speed of the film decreased from 1.666 [m / sec] to 0.083 [m / sec], contact angle decreased from $80[^{\circ}]$ to $64[^{\circ}]$, and the wettability was greatly improved. As the supply power increased from 0.4 [kVA] to 2 [kVA] at the corona discharge surface treatment, the contact angle decreased from $77[^{\circ}]$ to $65[^{\circ}]$, and the wettability was greatly improved.

디스크 경도에 따른 소결마찰재와 내열강 디스크의 마찰·마모 특성 (Study of the Tribological Characteristics Based on the Hardness of the Brake Disk between the Sintered Metallic Friction Material and the Heat-resisting Steel Disks)

  • Because of the growing need for high-speed transport options such as trains and aircraft, there is increasing demand for technology related to high-speed trains. Among them, braking systems are important in high-speed trains in terms of reliability. Especially, the disk brake system, in use in most high-speed trains, transforms kinetic energy into thermal energy and noise. Therefore, the material properties of both the friction materials and disks are expected to influence the tribological characteristics. In this paper, the tribological characteristics depend on the hardness of the brake disks between the Cu-based sintered metallic friction material and the heat-treated heat-resisting steel disks. A lab-scale dynamometer used to perform braking tests at a variety of braking speeds using dry conditions. The test results revealed that the hardness of the disks affects the friction coefficients, friction stabilities, and wear rates. Thus, the brake system using the heat-resisting steel disk requires proper heat-treatment. These differences are considered to be caused by the change in tribological mechanisms and the generation of an oxide layer on the friction surfaces. The oxide layers on the friction surfaces are confirmed to Fe2O3 by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) analysis.
