  • This study aims to provide architectural basis of the new space planning in university library and anticipate direction in future. This study is to analyze the spatial transition in the existing facility, based on field observation of the domestic university library and on theoretical data from the related article. The result that include a transition of the existing facility and the present is as following as below. 1) Spatial transitions by networking are making specific system room. The minimum area of this specific system room is 33.95$m^2$. 2) Spatial transition by information service is forming computer room. the minimum area of a environmental carrel, which is possibly located to computer room, is 2.98~3.42$m^2$. 3) Spatial transition by spreading multimedia information is to make the multimedia information is to make the multimedia room. It is necessary to independent, flexibility, and extensionable space. 4) Library interior spatial transition by developing information technology is prospected that in case of reading room, office enlarge the scale, in case of stack decrease the scale. The university library must be kept up their function and also be functioned as electronic library which serve new information.

SYNERGY BETWEEN IRSF AND AKARI

  • InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF) is our facility for near-infrared (NIR) observation located at South African Astronomical Observatory. The NIR camera SIRIUS on the 1.4m telescope provides three $7.7^{\prime}{\times}7.7^{\prime}$ images in the J ($1.25{\mu}m$), H ($1.63{\mu}m$), and $K_S$ ($2.14{\mu}m$) bands simultaneously with a pixel scale of 0.45". IRSF has three unique capabilities, which are suitable for follow-up observations of AKARI-selected objects. Several synergistic studies with AKARI are in progress from stars to galaxies. We introduce advantages of the above unique capabilities of IRSF for further synergistic studies between AKARI and IRSF.

  • Samsung Superconducting Test Facility (SSTF) will be built at SAIT, Taejeon. The superconducting cables to be used for KSTAR magnets are going to be tested in SSTF. The background magnet in SSTF is needed to simulate harsh magnetic environment for testing short CICC samples as well as full-scale magnets. The main coils can make central magnetic field of up to 8 Tesla and the blip coils can maintain fast ramping rate of 20T/s. The cancellation coils reduce the disturbance of main coils due to blip coils. The magnetic field distribution of these coils has been obtained with finite element method as well as the direct integration method.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate its characteristics of the spatial compositions at several kindergartens in Daegu area. Through this, the study is intended to provide the basic data of the efficient building planning and facility operations in the kindergarten. The results of this study are as follows. 1) Recently, the spatial compositions of kindergarten was classified as education, educational aids, educational support, teacher / administration, and public service area. 2) The concept of special classroom space was set up in all the surveyed facilities. This space was used for small-scale events, meals, and game features. 3) Support staff, including teachers, are insufficient for the service space. 4) The size of total land area of the facility's public service area was affecting. 5) The Lobby and aisle space of the surveyed facilities was used as a multipurpose space. 6) In response to diverse educational content, the direction to plan should be seperated by multi-space.

  • 지구온난화 문제가 인류 생존을 위협하는 중대한 이슈로 떠오르면서 세계 각국은 온실가스 감축에 적극 나서고 있다. 대표적 온실가스인 이산화탄소($CO_2$)는 석탄, 석유와 같은 화석연료를 연소하는 과정에서 대량으로 방출되고 있다. $CO_2$를 포집하고 저장하는 CCS ($CO_2$ Capture & Storage) 기술은 온실가스 저감의 대표적 기술로 세계 각국에서 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 대규모 $CO_2$ 배출원에서 포집된 $CO_2$를 대상으로, 국내 최초로 해상에서 지중저장을 하기 위한 고압 주입설비의 설계 및 구축에 관한 연구다. 이를 위해 2017년초 $CO_2$ 지중 주입설비가 구축되었으며 포항시 영일만 해상 플랫폼에서 $CO_2$ 시험주입을 국내 최초로 성공하였다. 그 결과 해상주입을 위한 주입설비의 운전 요구조건과 $CO_2$ 주입 특성이 파악되었고 주입장치 운영에 관한 노하우도 얻게 되었다. 시험주입에서 얻어진 결과는 향후 장치개선과 scale-up에 활용될 예정이다.

CAD도면과 GIS구조화 자동변환 방안에 관한연구 (A study on automatic data conversion from electronic drawings to make feature database for GIS system)

  • The total length of Korean railway network is about 3,300km. Since it is of great scale in system view point, the systemization of GIS-based information system requires so much cost and time. One of the difficulties is due to the fact that GIS-based information system requires the feature database for GIS, which is generally built manually from many as-built drawing files. In order to build-up the feature database for GIS with ease, this study suggests the automatic data conversion from electronic drawings to make feature database for GIS. The proposed method can be applied to build large-scale railway facility management system at lower cost.

  • 고준위폐기물처분장의 공학적 성능은 공학적 방벽의 열적-수리적-역학적 거동에 의해 크게 좌우된다. 2002년에 제안된 기준처분시스템 완충재의 열적-수리적-역학적 거동 실증을 위해서, 엔지니어링 규모의 실증장치인 KENTEX를 제작설치 하였다. 이 실증실험은 2005년 5월 31일에 시작하여 현재 진행 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 운전 중인 KENTEX시설과 이 시설에서 수행 중인실험 및 향후 연구내용을 소개하고, 또한 센서 설치 및 운전조건 결정을 위해 수행한 운전 전 T-H-M 모델 계산결과도 기술하였다. 한국형 기준처분시스템의 실증연구와 관련하여, KENTEX 실증실험은 향후 추진될 지하시험시설에서의 현장시험에 필요한 자료와 경험을 제공하고, 기준처분시스템의 열적-수리적-역학적 거동특성과 평가모델을 검증할 것이다. 실험적으로는 처분장 완충재로 사용되는 벤토나이트 블록의 제작 및 설치에 대한 엔지니어링 타당성을 보여 주는데 유용하게 활용될 것이다.

여과형 시설에 적용되는 여재의 처리효율 영향인자를 고려한 실증화 평가 (Verification of the Filter Media Applied to Filter Type Facility Considering the Treatment Efficiency Factor)

  • Increased impervious surface caused by rapid urbanization serves to produce the discharge of non-point source pollutants such as total suspended solid (TSS). There exist various methods of removing TSS, including a filtration process using granular media (a well-known method to be practically used after the consideration of removal efficiency, clogging, and backwashing efficiency). To determine the TSS removal capability of the filter, we initially performed lab-scale experiments which assessed flow rates, influent concentrations, permeability co-efficients, the particular shapes of suspended solids and potential clogging, and also evaluated TSS removal efficiency when applied to filtration facility in a pilot-scale. In low filtration flux condition, the removal efficiency of suspended solids was more than 95 %, while decreased to 83% in high filtration flux. Regarding the clogging aspect of the experiment, total cumulative solids were loaded up to $19.15kg/m^2$, and TSS removal efficiency was noted to commence to decrease when the loaded solids exceeded $9.0kg/m^2$. It was also noted, however, that superior efficiency was maintained for six hours. In addition, for pilot-scale experiment, the removal efficiency was still high enough (83.4 %) for the solid concentration of 140 ~ 343 mg SS/L and after backwashing, head loss was recovered to 92 ~ 95 % during two hour filtration. With these results, It was confirmed that lifetime of the filter applied to the test was prolonged due to the high treatment efficiency and good backwashing efficiency for the cumulative solids load.

  • To develop domestic IGCC gasification technology, a gasification test bed with a capacity of 20 tons/day has been designed. The main components of the test bed designed are a coal pulverizing and feeding facility, a gasifier, a syngas cooler, a gas treatment unit, oxygen and nitrogen tanks, and flare stack. For wide applications to the development of advanced coal gasification technology, many special functions have been given to it such as syngas recirculation, char recirculation, and multiple stage gasification. The test bed will be used for testing the characteristics of various types of coals, deriving optimum conditions for efficient gasifier operation and trouble shooting for the Korea IGCC demonstration plant. It will also be applied as a useful tool to develop scale-up design technology of IGCC and proceed to commercialization.

  • The experiments for aerodynamic characteristics on railway acoustic screen are performed using 1/61 scale-down mock-up facility. The train model for the experiment is high speed train (KTX) and the tested speed is about 300km/h. The tested train length is about 61cm which is corresponding to two units of train. The strength of pressure wave is measured using piezo typed pressure sensor. The measured pressure is compared with field test data and UIC 779-1 values.
