  • A program consumes energy by executing its instructions. The amount of cosumed power is mainly proportional to algorithm complexity and it can be calculated by using complexity information. Generally, the complexity of a S/W is estimated by the microprocessor simulator. But, the simulation takes long time why the simulator is a software modeled the hardware and it only provides the information about computational complexity quantitatively. In this paper, we propose a complexity estimation method of analysis of S/W on source code level and produce the complexity metric mathematically. The function-wise complexity metrics give the detailed information about the calculation-concentrated location in function. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the result of the gate-level microprocessor simulator 'SimpleScalar'. The used softwares for performance test are $4{\times}4$ integer transform, intra-prediction and motion estimation in the latest video codec, H.264/AVC. The number of executed instructions are used to estimate quantitatively and it appears about 11.6%, 9.6% and 3.5% of error respectively in contradistinction to the result of SimpleScalar.

  • Let M be a connected n-dimensional submanifold of a Euclidean space $E^{n+k}$ equipped with the induced metric and ${\Delta}$ its Laplacian. If the position vector x of M is decomposed as a sum of three vectors $x=x_1+x_2+x_0$ where two vectors $x_1$ and $x_2$ are non-constant eigenvectors of the Laplacian, i.e., ${\Delta}x_i={\lambda}_ix_i$, i = 1, 2 (${\lambda}_i{\in}R$) and $x_0$ is a constant vector, then, M is called a 2-type submanifold. In this paper we proved that a connected 2-type hypersurface M in $E^{n+1}$ whose postion vector x satisfies ${\langle}{\Delta}x,x-x_0{\rangle}=c$ for a constant c, where ${\langle}$, ${\rangle}$ is the usual inner product in $E^{n+1}$, is of null 2-type and has constant mean curvature and scalar curvature.

  • In this paper, we study vanishing properties for $L^2$ harmonic 1-forms on a gradient shrinking Ricci soliton. We prove that if (M, g, f) is a complete oriented noncompact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton with potential function f, then there are no non-trivial $L^2$ harmonic 1-forms which are orthogonal to df. Second, we show that if the scalar curvature of the metric g is greater than or equal to (n - 2)/2, then there are no non-trivial $L^2$ harmonic 1-forms on (M, g). We also show that any multiplication of the total differential df by a function cannot be an $L^2$ harmonic 1-form unless it is trivial. Finally, we derive various integral properties involving the potential function f and $L^2$ harmonic 1-forms, and handle their applications.

  • Let x : $^{Mn-1}{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{R}}^n$ ($n{\geq}4$) be an umbilical free hyper-surface with non-zero principal curvatures. Then x is associated with a Laguerre metric g, a Laguerre tensor L, a Laguerre form C, and a Laguerre second fundamental form B, which are invariants of x under Laguerre transformation group. We denote the Laguerre scalar curvature by R and the trace-free Laguerre tensor by ${\tilde{L}}:=L-{\frac{1}{n-1}}tr(L)g$. In this paper, we prove a local classification result under the assumption of parallel Laguerre form and an inequality of the type $${\parallel}{\tilde{L}}{\parallel}{\leq}cR$$ where $c={\frac{1}{(n-3){\sqrt{(n-2)(n-1)}}}$ is appropriate real constant, depending on the dimension.

  • The objective of this paper is to introduce and study Einstein-like para-Kenmotsu manifolds. For a para-Kenmotsu manifold to be Einstein-like, a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of its curvature tensor is obtained. We also obtain the scalar curvature of an Einstein-like para-Kenmotsu manifold. A necessary and sufficient condition for an almost para-contact metric hypersurface of a locally product Riemannian manifold to be para-Kenmotsu is derived and it is shown that the para-Kenmotsu hypersurface of a locally product Riemannian manifold of almost constant curvature is always Einstein.

  • The perceiving a calling scale is composed of three constructs: transcendent sermon, meaningful and prosocial aspects. Based on the multiple group confirmatory factor analysis from the structural equation model, we confirmed the measurement invariance between Christians and non-Christians at the scale level. Furthermore, to investigate the mean difference between Christians and non-Christians, we performed latent mean analysis. The results showed that the three-factor structure is equivalent across Christians and non-Christians, and further confirmed metric invariance and scalar invariance. Thus, the perceived calling scale is applicable to both Christians and non-Christians without biases. We also examined mean differences between the two groups. Christians demonstrated significantly higher scores on the three factors but no difference on the living a calling. This study provided meaningful information in understanding calling, and we discussed limitations and future directions.

  • This article introduces a method for estimating the conditional hazard function of a real-valued response variable based on a functional variable. The method uses local linear estimation of the conditional density and cumulative distribution function and is applied to a functional stationary ergodic process where the explanatory variable is in a semi-metric space and the response is a scalar value. We also examine the uniform almost complete convergence of this estimation technique.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the construct validity, reliability, measurement invariance, and latent mean differences in the Breastfeeding Adaptation Scale-Short Form (BFAS-SF) for use with mothers at 2 weeks postpartum. Methods: This methodological study was designed to evaluate the validity, reliability, and measurement invariance of the BFAS-SF at 2 weeks postpartum, with data collected from 431 breastfeeding mothers. Confirmatory factor analysis and multi-group confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess the factor structure and the measurement invariance across employment status, delivery mode, parity, and previous breastfeeding experience, and the latent mean differences were then examined. Results: The goodness of fit of the six-factor model at 2 weeks postpartum was acceptable. Multi-group confirmatory factor analysis supported strict invariance of the BFAS-SF across employment status and delivery mode. Full configural invariance, full metric invariance, and partial scalar invariance across parity and full configural invariance and full metric invariance across previous breastfeeding experience were supported, respectively. The results for latent mean differences suggested that mothers who were employed showed significantly higher scores for breastfeeding confidence. Mothers who had a vaginal delivery showed significantly higher scores for sufficient breast milk and baby's feeding capability. Multiparous mothers showed significantly higher scores for baby's feeding capability and baby's satisfaction with breastfeeding. Conclusion: The validity and reliability of the BFAS-SF at 2 weeks postpartum are acceptable. It can be used to compare mean scores of breastfeeding adaptation according to employment status, delivery mode, and parity.

  • The Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) is a newly developed emotional scale to measure well-being that was designed to overcome the limitations of the previous emotional scales (Diener et al., 2010). It comprises 12 items that measure positive and negative emotional experiences, including general (e.g., positive, negative) and specific (e.g., joyful, sad) items. It also reflects all levels of arousal. This study examined the factor structure and gender invariance of the Korean version of the SPANE. For this purpose, responses to the scale of a sample of 551 Korean college students (276 males and 275 females) were analyzed. The results exhibited high internal consistency reliability and construct validity for a Korean population. Furthermore, the configural, metric, and scalar invariance of the SPANE held across gender. These results suggest that the Korean version of the SPANE is a valid scale for measuring the emotional experiences of Korean students, and it is appropriate to use in future studies of gender difference in emotional well-being.
