축산관련차량 이동에 따른 도로의 에어로졸 발생량 분석 (Aerosol Emission from Road by Livestock Transport Vehicle Movement)

  • Most of livestock houses are concentrated in certain area with mass rearing system resulting in rapid spread of infectious diseases such as HPAI (highly pathogenic avian influenza). The livestock-related vehicles which frequently travel between farms could be a major factor for disease spread by means of transmission of airborne aerosol including pathogens. This study was focused on the quantitative measurement of aerosol concentration by field experiment while vehicles were passing through the road. The TSP (total suspended particle) and PM10 (particle matter) were measured using air sampler with teflon filter installed downward the road with consideration of weather forecast and the direction of road. And aerosol spectrometer and video recorders were also used to measure the real-time distribution of aerosol concentration by its size. The results showed that PM2.5 was not considerable for transmission of airborne aerosol from the livestock-related vehicle. The mass generated from the road during the vehicle movement was measured and calculated to 241.4 ${\mu}g/m^3$ by means of the difference between TSP and PM2.5. The dispersion distance was predicted by 79.6 m from the trend curve.

남극 아문젠해에서 해수 중 Mn의 분포 특성 (Manganese in Seawaters of the Amundsen Sea, Antarctic)

  • In order to investigate the behavior and seasonal variability of Mn as one of the bio-essential metals in the Amundsen sea, which is known as the most biologically productive coastal area around the Antartica, seawaters were collected using a clean sampling system for 10 stations (96 ea) in 2014 (ANA04B) and for 12 stations (139 ea) in 2016 (ANA06B) surveys of RV ARAON. Dissolved and particulate Mn concentration varied in the range of 0.15-4.43 nmol/kg and <0.01 to 2.42 nM in 2014 and in the range of 0.25-4.15 nmol/kg and 0.01-2.64 nM in 2016, respectively. From the sectional distribution of dissolved and particulate Mn, it might be suggested that dissolved/particulate Mn was provided from iceberg melting and diffusion/resuspension from sediments, respectively. Although this sea is highly productive, there was little evidence regarding the biological origin of dissolved Mn, but particulate Mn only in sea ice and offshore areas could be explained as originating from organic matters, e.g. phytoplanktons. And it could be suggested that the subsurface maximum of dissolved Mn was formed by isopycnal transport of melting materials from ice wall to offshore. Compared to early (2014) summer, temperature, salinity, biomass, dissolved and particulate Mn in late (2016) summer indicated that temporal variations might be resulted from the reduction of ice melting and mCDW flow, which induced a reduction in resuspension. In addition, in the late summer, particles including biomass were reduced, which brought about a reduction in the removal rate of dissolved Mn.

자동연속측정시스템 개발 및 이 시스템을 이용한 서울 대기 중 PM2.5의 화학적 조성과 특성에 관한 연구 (Development of an Automated and Continuous Analysis System for PM2.5 and Chemical Characterization of the PM2.5 in the Atmosphere at Seoul)

  • An automated analysis system for water soluble constituents in $PM_{2.5}$ has been developed. The system consists of a high capacity multi tube diffusion scrubber (MTDS), a low temperature particle impactor (LTPI), and two ion (anion and cation) chromatography (IC) systems. Atmospheric particles have been collected by passing sample air through a thermostated MTDS followed by a LTPI. This system allows simultaneous measurements of soluble ions in $PM_{2.5}$ at 30 minutes interval. At the air sampling flow rate of 1.0L/min, the detection limits of the overall system are in the order of tens of $ng/m^3$. This system has been successfully used for the measurement of particulate components of Seoul air from April 2003 to January 2004. $SO_4^{2-},\;NO_3^-,\;NH_4^+,\;NO_2^-,\;Cl^-,\;Na^+,\;K^+,\;Ca^{2+},\;and\;Mg^{2+}$ are the major ionic species for $PM_{2.5}$ at Seoul. Among them, $SO_4^{2-},\;NO_3^-\;and\;NH_4^+$ are the most abundant ions, contributed up to $86\%$ of the total and the concentrations were higher than those in any other urban sites in the world except for Chinese cities. There are high pollutant episodes which contribute about $15\~20\%$ of annual average values of the major ions. During the episode, the all parcels were transported from the asian continent and $PM_{2.5}$ were significantly neutralized. This suggests that aged and long range transported pollutants caused the high pollutant episodes. They showed a distinct daily and seasonal variations:they showed a peak in the early morning caused by the night-time accumulation of particulate matters. Atmospheric reactions including gas-to-particle reactions and inter-particle reactions and meteorological parameters including relative humidity and ambient temperature were described with related to the $PM_{2.5}$ 5 concentrations. All of the ionic species showed higher concentrations during the spring than those for summer and winter.

지방부 간선도로 단속류 통행시간 추정을 위한 적정 집락간격 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Aggregation Interval for Travel Time Estimation on the Rural Arterial Interrupted Traffic flow)

  • 본 논문에서는 지방부 간선도로 단속류 구간(국도 42호선 양지$\~$용인구간 6km)의 통행시간정보에 관한 체계적인 수집 $\cdot$ 분석을 위해 현재 국도교통관리시스템(RTMS : Rural Trafc Management System)상에서 운영중인 차량 번호판 매칭방식 AVI 수집자료에 대한 신뢰성 검증 및 단속류 구간 통행시간 자료의 적정집락간격에 관한 연구가 수행되었다. 우선 AVI수집자료 신뢰성 검증을 위하여 번호판 매칭방식 AVI표본수집자료와 전수조사자료를 Kolmogorov-Smirnov 검증기법을 이용하여 분석한 결과 AVI 자료는 통과위주의 대표차로상에서 수집되는 관계로 전차로에 대한 수집자료와 교통특성에 차이가 있어 현재의 번호판 매칭방식 AW 표본수집자료를 통해 산출된 구간통행시간을 구간의 대표값으로 적용하는 문제는 추가 검토가 필요하다. 그리고 적정집락간격을 산출하기 위하여 통계적 추정 개념인 점추정과 구간추정을 적용하여 모형을 개발하여 적용한 결과 점추정기법이 구간추정기법보다 집락간격결정에 민감하고, 보다 정확한 적정집락간격 선정이 가능한 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 적정집락간격은 5분으로 산정되어 현재 적용되고 있는 5분 집락간격은 적정한 것으로 판단된다.

금강하구에서 인공 구조물에 의한 수심 변화 : GIS 기반의 시.공간 평가 (Water Depth Change Caused by Artificial Structures in Geum River Estuary: Spatio-Temporal Evaluation Based on GIS)

  • 본 연구는 금강하구에서 인공구조물 축조로 인해 야기된 수심 변화의 시 공간분포 특성을 평가하고자 한다. $1979{\sim}2004$년 해도로부터 수심 데이타를 추출하여 GIS환경에서 퇴적층의 변화추세가 평가되었다. 하구둑 전면과 장항항-군산내항 사이의 공사중인 인공섬 북측, 개야수로 일부, 대죽사주 등 대부분의 연구지역에서 1979년에 비해 2m이상 퇴적층이 쌓이면서 수심이 얕아진 경향이 나타나 하구역이 점점 더 퇴적작용이 우세한 환경으로 변이되는 것이 확인된다. 하구둑-군산내항 수역에서 수심이 얕아진 지역이 79%, 깊어진 지역이 21%로 이 구간의 퇴적양상이 가장 문제가 되고 있다. 하구둑을 통한 하천수의 유출이 진행되는 방향에 위치하는 군산내항을 거쳐 개야수로에 이르는 하구 내측에 퇴적이 집중되고 있어 하구둑의 건설 이후에도 하천으로부터 퇴적물 공급이 완전하게 차단되지 않고 하천유로를 통해 지속적으로 공급되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구는 하구 둑이 건설된 이후 연구지역에서 전체적으로 침식보다는 퇴적 작용이 우세하다는 기존의 연구에서 나아가 인공구조물과 연계되어 퇴적과정이 활성화되는 지역과 그렇지 못한 지역의 공간적 변이를 규명하였다. 결국 GIS 기반의 수심환경 평가가 기존의 미시적 인 데이터에 의거한 퇴적환경 연구결과를 객관화하고 정량적인 근거를 제시하는 도구로 활용될 수 있었다.

서울시 지하역사에서 PM10의 화학적 특성과 오염원의 확인 및 기여도 추정 (Identification of PM10 Chemical Characteristics and Sources and Estimation of their Contributions in a Seoul Metropolitan Subway Station)

  • Since the underground transportation system is a closed environment, indoor air quality problems may seriously affect many passengers' health. The purpose of this study was to understand $PM_{10}$ characteristics in the underground air environment and further to quantitatively estimate $PM_{10}$ source contributions in a Seoul Metropolitan subway station. The $PM_{10}$ was intensively collected on various filters with $PM_{10}$ aerosol samplers to obtain sufficient samples for its chemical analysis. Sampling was carried out in the M station on the Line-4 from April 21 to 28, July 13 to 21, and October 11 to 19 in the year of 2010 and January 11 to 17 in the year of 2011. The aerosol filter samples were then analyzed for metals, water soluble ions, and carbon components. The 29 chemical species (OC1, OC2, OC3, OC4, CC, PC, EC, Ag, Al, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Si, Ti, V, Zn, $Cl^-$, $NO_3{^-}$, $SO_4{^{2-}}$, $Na^+$, $NH_4{^+}$, $K^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$) were analyzed by using ICP-AES, IC, and TOR after proper pretreatments of each sample filter. Based on the chemical information, positive matrix factorization (PMF) model was applied to identify the $PM_{10}$ sources and then six sources such as biomass burning, outdoor, vehicle, soil and road dust, secondary aerosol, ferrous, and brakewear related source were classified. The contributions rate of their sources in tunnel are 4.0%, 5.8%, 1.6%, 17.9%, 13.8% and 56.9% in order.

서울시 소재 대학교 차량 요금정산소 수납원의 블랙카본 노출 평가 (Exposure Assessment of Black Carbon among Tollbooth Worker at a University)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to assess the exposure levels of tollbooth workers to diesel particulate matter using black carbon (BC) and to find the correlations among variables associated with BC using the motor vehicle management act regulated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Methods: This study was performed over 14 days at a university in Seoul. BC levels were monitored using an aethalometer and were conducted around the breathing zones of the workers. There were three sampling locations: inside the tollbooth (front gate and rear gate) and an office as a control group. T-test, correlation, and multiple linear regression analysis were performed using SPSS. Results: The geometric mean (GM) of BC30min concentrations in the exposure group was 2.44 ㎍/㎥, approximately 1.4 times higher than the control group (1.75 ㎍/㎥). The GM of BC30min concentrations was 2.75 ㎍/㎥ during the heavy traffic time (9-10 am) and 2.30 ㎍/㎥ during non-heavy traffic times (p<0.001). The multiple linear regression analysis shows that the number of all types of vehicles and PM2.5 concentrations in the atmosphere were factors increasing the GM of BC(ln(BC30min)) concentrations (adjusted R2=0.42, p<0.001). The workers were constantly exposed to low concentrations (GM of BC30min=2.44 ㎍/㎥), but they were exposed to peak concentrations instantly (BC10sec=3545.04 ㎍/㎥). When the GM of BC30min concentrations was momentarily represented as high, it was identified that a vehicle mainly using diesel fuel or an aging vehicle had passed. Conclusions: A ventilation system should be installed in the closed tollbooth or aging vehicles should be controlled so as not to pass tollbooths.

CMAQ-pollen 모델을 이용한 참나무 꽃가루 확산 고해상도 수치모의 및 검증 (A High-resolution Numerical Simulation and Evaluation of Oak Pollen Dispersion Using the CMAQ-pollen Model)

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy and variability of the oak pollen concentrations over the Seoul metropolitan region (SMR) simulated by the Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ)-based pollen dispersion model, which is the CMAQ-pollen model integrated with the improved oak pollen emission model(PEM-oak). The PEM-oak model developed is based on hourly emission flux parameterization that includes the effects of plant-specific release, meteorological adjustment, and diurnal variations of oak pollen concentrations. A 33 day-run for oak pollen simulation was conducted by the CMAQ-pollen model with a 3 km spatial resolution for the SMR during the 2014 spring pollen season. Modeled concentrations were evaluated against the hourly measurements at three Burkard sampling sites. Temporal variations of oak concentrations were largely well represented by the model, but the quantitative difference between simulations and measurements was found to be significant in some periods. The model results also showed that large variations in oak pollen concentrations existed in time and space and high concentrations in the SMR were closely associated with the regional transport under strong wind condition. This study showed the effective application of the CMAQ-pollen modeling system to simulate oak pollen concentration in the SMR. Our results could be helpful in providing information on allergenic pollen exposure. Further efforts are needed to further understand the oak pollen release characteristics such as interannual variation of the oak pollen productivity and its spatio-temporal flowering timing.

바다모래 채취 시 해수 수질 및 생태계 영향에 대한 해양환경조사 개선 방안 (Improvements in the Marine Environmental Survey on Impact of Seawater Qualities and Ecosystems due to Marine Sand Mining)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라의 주변 해역에서 바다모래 채취 시 발생되는 현탁류에 대해 5년간(2008년~2012년) 해양환경조사서 내 조사 현황을 검토하였다. 이 기간 동안 연 근해역 내 7곳(남해 EEZ, 서해 EEZ, 서해 EEZ 변경 단지, 태안군 관할 해역, 안산시 관할 해역, 옹진군 관할 해역 2곳)의 바다모래 채취구역 중 2곳(EEZs와 연안역 내 채취 구역 각각 1곳)에서 현탁류 내 부유토사의 확산과 이동에 관한 현장 관측이 수행되었다. 그러나 해역별 해양물리적, 지형적 특성과 기상 조건을 반영한 조사 정점 및 범위를 선정한 사례는 확인되지 않았다. 조류, 파랑, 바람장, 수심, 하계 성층화 등의 영향에 의해 부유토사는 바다모래 채취 구역을 넘어 훨씬 더 먼 거리까지 이동될 수 있다. 따라서 바다모래 채취 과정에서 해저층 퇴적물의 재부유, 그리고 준설선박의 여수토와 배사관에서 배출되는 월류수 등에서 기인한 부유토사의 확산에 대해 집중 모니터링 방안과 세부 조사 기법의 도입이 필요하다. 또한 현탁류의 확산 경로상에서 부유물질, 영양염, 중금속 등의 오염물질로 인해 주변 해양환경과 유용 수산생물이 포함된 해양생태계 등에 미치는 누적 영향을 추적하고, 환경 피해를 최소화하기 위한 통합 지침안을 마련해야 한다.
