ROBUST $H_{\infty}$ FIR SAMPLED-DATA FILTERING

  • This paper investigates the problem of robust H$_{\infty}$ filter with FIR(Finite Impulse Response) structure for linear continuous time-varying systems with sampled-data measurements. It is assumed that the system is subject to real time-varying uncertainty which is represented by the state-space model having parameter uncertainty. The robust H$_{\infty}$ FIR filter is proposed for the continuous-time linear parameter uncertain systems. It is also derived from the equivalence relationship between the robust linear H$_{\infty}$ FIR filter and the robust linear H$_{\infty}$ filter with sampled-data measurements.

  • The HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). The process of infection and mutation by HIV can be described by a 3rd order state equation. For this HIV model that includes the dynamics of the mutant virus, we present a parameter estimation scheme using two state variables sporadically measured, out of the three, by employing a genetic algorithm. It is assumed that these non-uniformly sampled measurements are subject to random noises. The effectiveness of the proposed parameter estimation is demonstrated by simulations. In addition, the estimated parameters are used to analyze the equilibrium points of the HIV model, and the results are shown to be consistent with those previously obtained.

  • This paper presents the results of the robust H(sub)$\infty$ FIR filtering for a class of nonlinear continuous time-varying systems subject to real norm-bounded parameter uncertainty and know Lipschitz nonlinearity under sampled measurements. We address the problem of designing filters, using sampled measurements, which guarantee a prescribed H(sub)$\infty$ performance in continuous time-varying context, irrespective of the parameter uncertainty and unknown initial states. The infinite horizon causal H(sub)$\infty$FIR filter are investigated using the finite moving horizon in terms of two Riccati equations with finite discrete jumps.

  • In this paper, we propose new digital optimal control approach for controlling continuous-time nonlinear chaotic systems, which show very complex behavior and cannot be easily controlled by conventional control methods. Most real systems are represented as continuous-time system, whereas some control methods should be implemented under the condition of computer-based platforms, which are discrete-time systems. To achieve the control objective for chaotic systems successfully, the sampled-data controller, which considers the inter-sample behavior of the continuous-time systems effectively, should be needed.   • This paper presents an event-triggered model predictive controller for adaptive cruise control system with sampled and quantized-data. Unlike existing works, a longitudinal continuous-time model is used for the predictive control of the system. To efficiently utilize network resources, event-trigger scheme is employed, which allows limited sensor and actuator signal satisfying the condition that the measurement of errors is over the ratio of a trigger level. The proposed control gain is obtained by solving a convex problem satisfying several linear matrix inequalities at every sampling times. Simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

  • A new discretization method for calculating a sampled-data representation of a nonlinear continuous-time system is proposed. The proposed method is based on the well-known Taylor series expansion and zero-order hold (ZOH) assumption. The mathematical structure of the new discretization method is analyzed. On the basis of this structure, a sampled-data representation of a nonlinear system with a time-delayed input is derived. This method is applied to obtain a sampled-data representation of a non-affine nonlinear system, with a constant input time delay. In particular, the effect of the time discretization method on key properties of nonlinear control systems, such as equilibrium properties and asymptotic stability, is examined. 'Hybrid' discretization schemes that result from a combination of the 'scaling and squaring' technique with the Taylor method are also proposed, especially under conditions of very low sampling rates. Practical issues associated with the selection of the method parameters to meet CPU time and accuracy requirements are examined as well. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using a nonlinear system with a time-delayed non-affine input.

  • This paper presents the stability analysis and design for a sampled-data fuzzy control system with neutral type of time delay. The sampling activity and neutral type of time delay will complicate the nonlinear system dynamics. And it make the stability analysis much more difficult than that for a continuous-time fuzzy control system. Based on the fuzzy control approach, linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based stability conditions are derived to guarantee the neutral T-S fuzzy system stability. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • 본 논문은 특이섭동을 포함한 비선형 시스템을 위한 샘플치 제어 기법을 논한다. 비선형 시스템은 타카기--수게노(Takagi--Sugeno: T--S) 퍼지모델 형태로 표현됨을 가정한다. 새로운 리아푸노프 함수와 추가적인 항등식을 이용하여 선형행렬부등식 형태의 샘플치 폐루프 T--S 퍼지시스템의 점근적 안정도 조건을 제시한다. 분석결과에 대한 몇 가지 논의점을 언급한다. 모의실험에 의하여 제안된 기법의 타당성을 보인다.

Sampled-data Fuzzy Observer Design for an Attitude and Heading Reference System and Its Experimental Validation

  • In this paper, a linear matrix inequality-based sampled-data fuzzy observer design method is proposed based on the exact discretization approach. In the proposed design technique, a numerically relaxed observer design condition is obtained by using the discrete-time fuzzy Lyapunov function. Unlike the existing studies, the designed observer is robust to the uncertain premise variable because the fuzzy observer is designed under the imperfect premise matching condition, in which the membership functions of the system and observer are mismatched. In addition, we apply the proposed method to the state estimation problem of the attitude and heading reference system (AHRS). To do this, we derive a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model for the AHRS system, and validate the proposed method through the hardware experiment.
