지중오존산화시 토양유기물질과 수분이 토착미생물의 생존과 재성장에 미치는 영향

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of soil properties, such as soil organic matter(SOM) content and water content on die-off and regrowth of indigenous microbes due to in-situ ozonation. Four different soils were collected and the soil samples applied to different ozonation time(0-360 min) were incubated during 4 weeks. Population of the indigenous microbes was monitored during incubation period. The number of indigenous microbes in all samples dramatically decreased (more than 90%) within 30 minutes of ozone injection. With increased ozonation time by 360 minutes, the number of the indigenous microbes decreased by 99.99% in all samples. Die-off of the indigenous microbes due to ozone treatment was inversely proportional to SOM and water content. Especially, sample 3 and Sample 4 containing relatively high SOM content and water content showed high regrowth rate, and this resulted from the increase of water soluble and biodegradable organic fraction in soil water after ozone treatment. Soil sample ozonated for 360 minutes showed minor increase in microbial population during 4 weeks of incubation period.

Does Audit Matter in Earnings Quality of Indonesia Banks?

  • This study investigates and analyzes the difference in Indonesian banks' earnings quality in the pre-audit and post-audit period. This study also investigates the difference in audit quality done by public accounting firms. This study employs time series data taken from the unaudited and audited financial statements of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012-2016. Sample selection is made by using a purposive sampling method. The population of this study is 43 banks, and after checking the data for validity and reliability, the final sample size was 26 banks. Audit quality is operationalized with the size of the auditor. Earnings quality is proxied by accruals calculated using the Beaver and Engel (1996) model. The data analysis method used in this study is the paired-sample t-test and chow test. This study shows that there is no difference in earnings quality in the pre-audit and post-audit period. This study also reveals no difference in audit quality between the big four and non-big four auditors. These findings mean that independent auditors do not play a useful role in increasing the reliability of accounting information presented by management to stakeholders. Besides, this study's results do not verify the agency theory regarding auditors' role to minimize opportunistic management behavior in preparing financial statements.

특허자료를 이용한 우리나라 지식전파의 지역화 분석 (Patent Citations and Localization of Knowledge Spillovers: Evidence from Korea)

  • 본 연구는 1996-2015년 기간 동안 개인이 아닌 기업이나 기관이 미국 특허청(USPTO)에 출원 및 등록한 특허자료를 사용하여 우리나라 지식전파의 지역화 효과를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 Jaffe, Trajtenberg, and Henderson (1993)이 제시한 '샘플-매칭(matched-sample)' 분석틀을 활용하였으며, 지식 생산의 지리적 집적 분포를 통제한 후 국내에 있는 발명가의 특허를 국내 다른 발명가가 인용할 확률과 해외에 있는 발명가가 인용할 확률을 비교하는 방식으로 지식전파의 지역화 효과를 추정하였다. 분석결과, 우리나라 지식전파의 지역화 효과의 증거를 발견할 수 없었으며 오히려 감소하고 있는 추세를 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 지식 창출의 지리적 집적 정도를 통제한 후에는 국내 발명가의 특허를 타 기관이나 기업 소속의 국내 다른 발명가가 인용할 확률과 해외에 있는 발명가가 인용할 확률이 같거나 오히려 후자가 높은 것을 의미한다. 아울러 본 연구는 국내 지역별 및 산업별 지식전파의 지역화 효과와 함께, 한국의 지역화 효과를 대만과 일본의 경우와 비교분석 하였다.

인삼 유청음료의 이화학적 및 미생물학적 특성 (Physicochemical and Microbiological Properties of Ginseng-Whey Beverages)

  • 인삼 유청음료를 렌넷유청, 인삼, 감미료, 꿀, 매실 등에 종류가 다른 유산균주들을 접종하여 제조한 후, 일부는 발효시키고 일부는 비발효 상태로 4$^{\circ}C$ 및 30$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$에 저장하여 이화학적 및 미생물학적 특성들을 조사하였다. 유청의 수율은 78.8%였고 저장기간 동안 pH는 감소하였으며 적정산도는 증가하였다. 인삼 유청음료의 고형성분, 회분, 지방질 함량은 각각 7.90~8.20%, 0.62~0.66%, 0.16%이었고 단백질 함량은 0.42~0.56%였으며 저장기간에 따라서 큰 변화가 없었다. 유당함량은 유산균 발효시킨 시료가 발효시키지 않은 시료보다 높았다. D(-)- 및 L(+)- 젖산함략은 저장 기간(1~5주)중에 유산균 발효 인삼 유청 음료(17.3~156.1 mg/100g, 347.3~1894.2mg/100g)는 비발효 인삼 유청음료(6.2~82.8mg/100g, 7.1~885.5mg/100g)보다 높았다. 유산균으로 발효시키지 않은 시료와 Lac. casei sub-sp. casei와 Str. salivarius sub-sp. thermophilus를 접종하여 발효시킨 시료의 총 saponin 함량은 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 증가하는 추세였으나 Lac. acidophilus와 Lac. delbrueckii sub-sp. bulgaricus를 접종한 시료는 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 인삼 유청음료의 전기영동 결과 모든 시료에서 $\alpha$-la과 $\beta$-lg이 뚜렷이 나타났으며 저장기간에 따라 변화가 거의 없었다. 저장기간(제 1, 3주)동안 대장균군은 검출되지 않았으며 총세균수와 저온성 세균군은 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 증가하였다.

특허권보호제도의 변화가 연구개발지출과 특허권 산출의 관계에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of TRIPS on the Relationship between R&D Expenditures and Patent Applications)

  • In this study, we examine the effect of TRIPS on the relationship between R&D expenditures and patent applications in manufacturing firms. The first set of tests examines the association between patent applications and R&D expenditures and firm specific factors such as firm size and capital intensity. The next set of tests adds environmental factors including R&D intensity of the industry and development of TRIPS. We divide the sample period into three subperiods according to the progress of TRIPS subperiod 1(1984-1988) before TRIPS, subperiod 2(1989-1994) after negotiation of TRIPS and subperiod 3(1995-2000) after agreement on TRIPS. Regression model reveals that the coefficient on firm size is significantly positive over the all sample Period, while that of R&D expenditures of R&D intensive firms is significantly positive in subperiod 2 and 3(1989-2000) and that of capital intensity is significantly negative only in subperiod 3(1995-2000). The findings suggest that the efficient intellectual property system promotes the patent application of R&D intensive firms.

주위온도 변화에 따른 어분의 자연발화에 관한연구 (A Study on Autoignition of Fish Meal with Change of Ambient Temperature)

  • Spontaneous ignition charactenstics for fish meal were observed by performing experiments at constant ambient temperature and varying the ambient temperature sinusoidally. As the results of the experiments at a constant ambient temperature, the critical spontaneous ignition temperature of the sample for large, intermediate and small vessels was 170.5$^{\circ}C$, 177.5$^{\circ}C$ and 188.5$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The critical spontaneous ignition temperature decreased as the sample vessel size increased. Apparent activation energy of used fish meal calculated from the Frank-Kamenetskii's thermal ignition theory was 37.60Kcal/mol. In case of varying the ambient temperature sinusoidally, the amplitudes of temperature were 1$0^{\circ}C$, 2$0^{\circ}C$ and 3$0^{\circ}C$ respectively with the period in each amplitude 1hr, 2hrs and 3hrs. The results showed that the critical spontaneous ignition temperatures at the varied amplitudes of temperature were lower than that at the constant anbient temperature and increased as the amplitude increased. At the same amplitude, the critical spontaneous ignition temperature increased with the period.

갈색거저리(Tenebrio molitor) 유충의 냉장 저장 중 산화 안정성에 관한 연구 (Studies on Oxidative Stability of Tenebrio molitor Larvae During Cold Storage)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes on the characteristics of the oxidative stability of Tenebrio molitor larvae during cold storage at $4^{\circ}C$. Pretreatment for T. molitor larvae was designed into three methods: raw (R), freeze-dried (F.D.), and pan-fried (P.F.). The water content of the raw sample (61.46%) was higher than those of other samples (F.D.: 5.02%, P.F.: 3.67%) and its high water content was expected to facilitate the oxidation of the raw sample. In our results, the peroxide value and the carbonyl value of all of the samples increased and the raw sample, after storage for 18 day, showed the highest value. The pan-fried sample had no significant increase in its lactic acid content, acid value, and thiobarbituric acid value; whereas those values were increased in the raw sample and the freeze-dried sample (p<0.05). The browning reaction was more progressed in the pan-fried sample than other samples at 0 day, but there was no significant change during the storage. The raw sample and the freeze-dried sample had their browning indexes increase with the increasing storage period (p<0.05). The pan-fried sample produced less oxidation products than the freeze-dried sample, indicating that the unheated sample was more susceptible to oxidation than the heated samples. In conclusion, heating treatment and low water content would be effective for improving the safety and stability of T. molitor larvae during cold storage.

Effect of Growth Temperature on the Luminescence Properties of InP/GaP Short-Period Superlattice Structures

  • The optical properties of InP/GaP short-period superlattice (SPS) structures grown at various temperatures from $400^{\circ}C$ to $490^{\circ}C$ have been investigated by using temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) and emission wavelength-dependent time-resolved PL measurements. The PL peak energy for SPS samples decreases as the growth temperature increases. The decreased PL energy of ~10 meV for the sample grown at $425^{\circ}C$ compared to that for $400^{\circ}C$-grown sample is due to the CuPt-B type ordering, while the SPS samples grown at $460^{\circ}C$ and $490^{\circ}C$ exhibit the significant reduction of the PL peak energies due to the combined effects of the formation of lateral composition modulation (LCM) and CuPt-B type ordering. The SPS samples with LCM structure show the enhanced carrier lifetime due to the spatial separation of carriers. This study represents that the bandgap energy of InP/GaP SPS structures can be controlled by varying growth temperature, leading to LCM formation and CuPt-B type ordering.

SPM AND CONIDIA OF MOLDS DURING THE ASIAN DUST EPISODES

  • High SPM concentrations(199.8~249.4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/㎥) were detected in the west Korea during the Yellow Sand Periods, 2000. Majority of the total SPM were composed of about 5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ sized coarse particles over the periods. However, fine particles sized about 1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and coarse particles sized about 5-6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ showed peaks at the graph of SPM size distribution in the Non Yellow Sand Period. Airborne fungal spores at the SPM samples were cultured and identified. Full-grown colonies during the Yellow Sand Periods, Fusarium, Aspergillus, Penicillium and Basipetospora are hyphomycetes in the division Fungi imperfecti(Deuteromycota). And morphologically more diversified mycelia of hyphomycetes were grown on the sample captured from 1.1~2.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ sized SPM than on other sized samples during the Yellow Sand Period. But no mold was observed on the sample of 1.1~2.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ sized SPM in the Non Yellow Sand Period. It was thought that several sorts of fine sized fungal spores were suspended in the atmospheric environment of the west Korea during the Asian dust episodes.

  • Circular variables are those that have a period in its range. Their examples include direction of animal migration, and time of drug administration, just to mention a few. Statistical analysis of circular variables is quite different from that of linear variable due to its periodic nature. In this paper, the author proposes new circular regression models using geodesic lines on the surface of the sample space of the response and the predictor variables.
