Determination of Opening Size of Geotextiles (토목섬유의 유효구멍크기 측정방법 및 측정결과 평가)

  • Opening size of 3 types of geotextile were tested using dry and wet sieving methods to evaluate characteristics of test methods and to compare the test results. Judging from test results, dry sieving method is a poor test, having many problems causing many errors but a simple-quick test. Wet sieving method is a very specific test avoiding many of the problems of dry sieving such as electrostatic charges, trapping in the geotextiles and so on. However, one of wet sieving tests, KSK ISO12956, takes long time to complete a test and is too strict to handle loss of granular material. Generally, opening size of a geotextile by wet sieving test is smaller than that of dry sieving test. Especially, opening size by KSF 2126 which is one of wet sieving test but disused at present anymore is similar or smaller than that by KSK ISO12956 method.

  • UI가 디지털 상품성에 중요한 요인으로 인식되면서 사용성 향상을 위한 기업들의 노력이 커지고 있다. 특히 사용자들의 충성도를 고취시킬 수 있다는 측면에서 일관성 있는 UI개발은 중요한 전략이다. 일관성 있는 UI 개발을 위해 기업은 UI 가이드라인을 개발하여 운영한다. UI 가이드라인은 단순히 좋은 UI 설계만의 문제가 아니며 기업의 사업 전략을 반영해야 하고 기술적인 로드맵을 예상하여야 하며 독자들의 명확하게 이해할 수 있어야 하며 끝으로 배포 이후의 원할한 운영의 문제까지 고려해야 한다. 본 논문은 SK Telecom의 SK Telecom Standard User Interface Requirements 개발 사례를 통해 UI가이드라인 개발 시 고려하여야 하는 사항들에 대한 어떤 해결책을 내놓았는지에 대해서 알아본다.

  • The use of geogrid for SRW systems and bridge abutment has increased rapidly over the past 10 years in Korea. The concept of segmental retaining walls and reinforced soil is very old and for example The Ziggurats of Babylonia(i.e. Tower of Babel) were built some 2,500 to 3,000 years ago using soil reinforcing methods very similar to those described in current design. Modern SRW(Semental Retaining Wall) units were introduced in 1960's as concrete crib retaining wall systems. In this paper, the friction properties between segmental concrete units and geogrid are investigated by performing various tests.

  • The most popular consolidation tester is a standard consolidatiion tester, which performs consolidation using the step load weight. However this apparatus is used to obtain only the vertical consolidation coefficient. Therefore the purpose of this study is to develope the horizontal consolidation cell for a horizaontal consolidation coefficient. Various size of tests have been peroformed to investigate the effect of scale effect. From the test results, it has turned out that this horizontal consolidation cell has a good function for a horizontal consolidation coefficient.

  • Excavation nearby the existing structures is being performed vigorously to get the greatest use of land along with fast economic growth in the downtown area. The application of soil nailing system gradually increases because of an advantage of soil nailing system adjacently constructed in the existing structures. In this study, friction resistance by pull-out is considered as main resistance except resistance formed by flexural rigidity of nail observing that resistance of flexural rigidity is about $0{\sim}15\;%$ of whole safety factor according to degree of flexural rigidity in general soil nail wall and application of geosynthetic fiber soil nailing system is evaluated through laboratory tensile strength test and field pull-out test.

  • Geogrid may be damaged during its installation in the filed. The installation damage mainly depends on two factors, which are materials used and construction activities. Materials relate to geogrid and soils, and construction activities are mainly related to installation of geogrid and compaction of soils. This paper describes the results of a series of field tests, which were conducted to assess the installation damage of the various geogrids according to different fill materials. After field installation damage tests, the change in tensile strength of geogrids was determined from wide width tensile tests using both damaged and undamaged specimens.

  • The model tests were conducted to assess the behavior characteristics of geogrid reinforced earth walls according to various surcharge loads and reinforcement spacing. The models were built in the box having dimension, 100cm tall, 140cm long, and 100cm wide. The reinforcement used was geogrid(tensile strength 2.26t/m). Decomposed granite soil(ML) was used as a backfill material. The LVDTs were installed on the model retaining walls to obtain the displacements of the facing. In the results, the maximum displacement of facing and tensile strain of geogrid was measured at 0.7H(H is wall height) from the bottom of reinforced wall.

  • This paper introduces a measurement system that measures behavior and electrical characteristics of overhead contact line irregular sections in real-time. For verification, we developed a prototype of the real-time overhead contact line irregular section behavior measurement system and a monitoring system for field tests. The current and temperature of contact wires and messenger wires were measured real-time by applying the system at KTX a commercial line. Therefore, acquiring data is possible with the developed system and this system that measures one of the fundamental and key factors, the catenary current, should be applicable to various areas such as detecting characteristics for designing overhead contact lines, enhancing speed, and enhancing energy.

  • 본 논문은 자기 바이어스(self bias)를 이용한 PCS 대역용 하이브리드 전력 저잡음 증폭기(power LNA) 모듈에 관한 것으로 GaAs p-HEMT 칩을 세라믹 기판에 실장하여 와이어 본딩과 주변 매칭을 통해 고주파 손실을 줄이고 온도 변화에 대한 안정성과 1.2㏈의 저잡음, 21~23㏈m의 P$_1$㏈를 실현하였다. 10mm$\times$10mm 크기로 표면 실장이 되도록 단자를 cut-line 형태로 모듈화 하여 안정성과 신뢰성을 향상시켰고 또한 저가격화를 실현하였다.

  • Development of adiabatic shear bands in thermoviscoplastic materials is analyzed via high resolution scheme. Presented here are our initial results, which are for one dimensional elasto-viscoplastic materials. As the mesh-sizes are getting small, the convergence result of plastic strain rate is obtained using elasto-viscoplastic materials. The further study cases will be reported at the presentation in the framework of the one and the two dimensional shearbanding, respectively. They will be compared with finite element solutions, and the advantage of the scheme will be discussed.
