A Study on the Characteristic of Electrical Construction Work for Prevention of Electric Shock Accident (감전재해 예방을 위한 전기공사업의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The live line working is inherently dangerous as the workers have to work under the risk of electrical shock and most of works are carried out at height. The live line working need the some specific techniques and higher level safety measures such as a risk assessment to carry out works safely, but the electrical construction companies performed live-line working are usually small-sized companies. They have less capacity to have own safety management system. This study intended to conduct an in-depth analysis on the cause of electric shock accidents to provide basic data for policy proposing taking into considering the past eleven years for a long-term plan. And the aim of this study is to propose the policy about the equipment performance standards and/or worker's safety standards to revise the standards for preventing electric shock accidents, moreover, co-relation of the electrical work order form and on safety workings, especially electrical construction company/work.

  • Elimination of dangerous points is the most effective method for safety in mechanical equipments. The next effective method is recognized as isolation and/or safe-guarding of dangerous spots from human beings. With progress of mechanical automation technique such as industrial robots, the need for safe-guard-ins is now being enlarged. It is needless to say that when a machine-guard is designed and installed, a comprechensive understanding of human movement is indispensable. But in this country, there is no scientific for those thems, and no one verifield whether it is valid to apply general guideline such as OSHA's to Korean or not. Further, basic anthropometric items for safety reach standards are neither availble nor included in nation-wide anthropometry project. In this research, human anthropometry data of Korean youngsters are analyzed for safety barrier and safety slit width, and compared with guidelines of other countries-Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, and USA. Though they are standards for safety, since they are based upon their own peoples' data, some of them especially foot reach are not not applicable in this country. It should be notified that careful application of numeric value is very important.

  • Nowadays many two-wheeled motorcycles are used in leisure and express delivery industries. But studies of the electromagentic compatibility on motorcycles have seldom been performed and published. This paper has studied the electromagnetic safety of motorcycles considering international and domestic regulations and standards. Also, a series of experiments have been performed to evaluate the level of electromagnetic compatibility of commercially available motorcycles. As a result, detailed experimental procedures are proposed to secure the electromagnetic safety and can be used to confirm or revise the Korea Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Economic loss to consider when in reality, the introduction of national standards of the United States is limited to the desirable standard, and the fact the actual award of standards, national standards, or if you want to introduce standard, each of depending on the type of attitude and strategy for standards by category, based on the characteristics of each body strategy and are needed. Through this study on utilization of de facto standards for national standards, it is researched that major de facto standards bodies status and domestic industrial fields which need utilization of de facto standards for national standards. Through overseas Case, effective usage of de facto standards will be obtained.

  • In Article 311 of the Regulation on Occupational Safety and Health Standards requires the use of Korean Industrial Standards Act in accordance with the Industrial Standardization Act. However, the classification, inspection, maintenance, design, selection, and installation of explosion hazard locations for explosion and explosion prevention and internalization of 'safety' in the performance maintenance phase of electrical machinery and equipment There is no technical and institutional management plan for remodeling and alteration. Analysis of actual conditions and problems related to the installation, use, and maintenance of explosion-proof equipment, comparative analysis of domestic and international technical standards and systems, technical, institutional and administrative systems and systems related to installation, use, and maintenance of explosion-proof equipment, technical personnel and qualifications, etc. It is to propose legislation, system improvement, and technical standard establishment related to the maintenance of explosion-proof facility performance through improvement of the necessity and feasibility study for establishment of the legal status of the management site and management plan. As technical measures, KS standard revision (draft), KOSHA guide (draft) and explosion-proof facility performance maintenance manual were presented. In addition, the institutional management plan proposed the revised rule on occupational safety and health standards, the revised rule on the restriction of employment of hazardous work, and the manpower training program related to the maintenance of explosion-proof facilities and the qualification plan. Enhance safety at the installation, use, and maintenance stage of explosion-proof structured electrical machinery. It is expected to be used to classify explosion hazards, select related equipment, and to update and standardize standards related to installation, use and maintenance.

  • Fuel cell powered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are globally being developed for various application according to hydrogen roadmap. However, safety standards for hydrogen fuel cell for UAV have not been established. Therefore, in this study, we derive safety data based on risk assessment to develop safety standards for fuel cells for UAV. We use fault tree analysis method which is broadly used in hydrogen facilities as a risk assessment tool. We set hydrogen leaks and fires as top events and derived the basic events. Safety data for the basic events were derived by quoting overseas safety standards related to fuel cells. The safety data will be used for developing fuel cell inspection standard according to Act on Hydrogen Economy Promotion and Hydrogen Safety Management.

  • This research is to measure real-time temperature distribution inside a tissue-mimicking phantom for the safety and effectiveness evaluations of focused ultrasound (FUS) device capable of linear scanning stimulation. Since the focusing area of the FUS stimulation device is smaller than diameter of conventional thermal probe and keeps moving, it is impossible to monitor temperature distribution inside the phantom. By using the phantom with a thin film temperature sensor array inserted, real-time temperature change caused by the FUS device was measured. The translation of the measured temperature peak was also tracked successfully. The present phantom had been experimentally proven to be applicable to validate the performance and safety of the therapeutic ultrasound devices.

  • Hybrid electric propulsion systems are expected as future primary combat platforms because the systems can supply enough electric power, easily locate components inside vehicles, and maneuver without undesired noise. However, increasing electric/electronic/software usage causes abnormal failure patterns which have not been noticeable in conventional automotive. Recently, the functional safety standard for road vehicles were enacted and vehicle manufacturers request their components which satisfy standardized quality. This research analyzes functional safety standards(IEC 61508 and ISO 26262) and compares the standards for road vehicles with military standards of system safety. Strategies to apply functional safety in the combat hybrid electric vehicle are scrutinized.
