성경험이 있는 여자 고등학생의 성매개감염 영향요인 (Predictors of Sexually Transmitted Infection among Adolescent Females in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the predictors of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) among female teenagers in Korea who have had intercourse at least once. Methods: This study is based on the 12th Korea Youth Behavior Web-based Survey conducted in April 2016. Data were collected from 798 middle schools and high schools nationwide in Korea and 65,528 students participated. Among the participants, the subjects of this study were 537 female high school students (Grade 10~12). The data were analyzed through complex samples multiple logistic regression using SPSS statistics 22. Results: Among the 537 female adolescents, 11.9% replied they had experienced STI. The predictors of STI among the subjects were 'age at first intercourse' and 'sexual intercourse after drinking'. The risk of STI was lower in the middle (OR=0.26, 95% CI=0.10~0.64) and high school (OR=0.11, 95% CI=0.04~0.27) age groups than those who had their first sexual intercourse at an elementary school age. The sexual intercourse after drinking group had a higher risk of STI, compared to the no sexual relation after drinking group (OR=2.54, 95% CI=1.28~5.07). Conclusion: Practical sex education programs should begin from the elementary stage in order to protect more female adolescents from STI. In addition, sex education including an alcohol prevention program should be considered to lower STI among female adolescents.

성매개감염병 취약군의 성매개감염병에 대한 건강신념과 예방행동 및 영향요인 (Health Beliefs, Preventive Behaviors, and Influencing Factors on Sexually Transmitted Diseases of Vulnerable Groups of Sexually Transmitted Infections(STI))

  • 본 연구는 성매개감염병 취약 대상자의 STI 건강신념을 확인하고 STI 예방행위에 미치는 영향요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 관련업소, 단체 종사자 및 보건소 내소자 등 241명이며, 연구자료는 구조화된 설문지를 활용하여 우편 혹은 방문을 통한 자기기입형 설문자료를 통해 수집하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 21.0을 사용하여 기술 통계, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression을 실시하였다. 연구결과 5점 리커트 척도에 근거하여 지각된 민감성은 2.70점, 지각된 심각성은 3.63점, 콘돔사용의 지각된 유익성은 3.82점, 콘돔사용의 지각된 장애성은 2.45점, 콘돔사용의 자기효능감 3.93점 및 STI의 예방행위는 3.51점이었다. STI 예방행위에 미치는 영향요인으로 콘돔사용의 자기효능감(��=.23, p=.003)과 콘돔사용의 지각된 장애성(��=-.15, p=.035), 교육수준(��=.16, p=.018)이 유의하였고 이들의 설명력은 17.0%이었다. 결론적으로 성매개감염병 예방을 위해서는 인식개선과 예방행위에 미치는 영향요인을 고려한 체계적인 교육 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

남·여 청소년에서의 성 매개 감염 관련요인 (Factors associated with Sexually Transmitted Infections among Korean Adolescents)

  • Purpose: This study aims to examine the factors influencing sexually transmitted infection (STI) in Korean adolescents 12 to 18 years. Methods: Using statistics from 10-11th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey, secondary analysis was conducted. The study sample consisted of 4,886 boys and 1,998 girls who had reported initiating sexual intercourse. Results: The proportion of adolescents who had a sexually transmitted infection was 8.8% of boys and 11.0% of girls. In multiple regression analysis, grade, smoking, first intercourse before middle school, intercourse after drinking alcohol, living without family, large amounts of pocket money were factors associated with sexually transmitted infection for both boys and girls. Use of condom is related to STI contraction of boys only. Formal sex education was not associated with reducing risk of STI. Conclusion: The results of this study show the factors associated with STI among Korean adolescents. Gender-related effective interventions should be taken into consideration in school-based sex education programs.

한국 청소년의 성매개 감염병 지식 측정도구 개발 및 평가에 관한 융합연구 (Converged Study on Development and Evaluation of Sexually Transmitted Infections Knowledge Scale for Korean Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 청소년에게 적용 가능한 성매개 감염병 지식 측정도구를 개발하기 위해 시행되었다. 문헌고찰을 바탕으로 40문항의 예비문항을 작성하고, 내용타당도 검증 및 예비조사과정을 거쳐 29문항의 예비도구를 개발하였다. 2016년 2월 13일부터 26일까지 청소년 141명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 예비도구의 타당도와 신뢰도 검증을 실시하였다. 타당도검증을 위한 요인분석결과 요인의 적재값은 .52이상의 값을 보였으며, 수렴타당도 평가결과 성매개 감염병 교육경험이 있는 집단의 지식정도가 유의하게 높았다(p=.009). 최종 확정된 16문항의 신뢰도는 Chronbach's ${\alpha}=.85$ 였으며 평균 정답률은 39.3%로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발된 도구는 향후 청소년의 성매개 감염병 교육효과를 평가하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

청소년 성매개 감염병 교육을 위한 스마트폰 어플리케이션 개발과정 (Developing a Customized Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) Smartphone Application for Adolescents: An Application of the Instructional System Design Model)

  • 청소년을 위한 성매개 감염병 교육의 필요성이 증가되고 있지만 대부분의 청소년들은 교과과정의 부족한 시간으로 인하여 제대로 된 교육을 받지 못하고 있다. 이 시기의 성매개 감염병 노출은 증상이 없거나 경미하여 청소년들이 성매개질환에 대한 인지를 못하는 경우가 많아 장기적인 생식기계의 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 스마트폰의 보급과 더불어 청소년들이 정보의 대부분을 스마트폰을 통하여 얻고 있어 스마트폰을 활용한 교육이 청소년에서 효과적이다. 청소년의 성 매개 감염병 지식을 향상시키기 위한 교육의 방법으로 딕 앤 케리의 체계적인 교수 설계 모델을 적용하여 성 매개 감염병 교육 스마트폰 어플리케이션 개발을 하였다. 본 연구는 이 스마트폰 어플리케이션 개발 전략 및 개발 과정을 기술하였다. 이 스마폰 어플리케이션은 6명의 전문가들과 함께 개발되었으며 교육 내용은 청소년들이 이해하기 쉬운 용어를 사용하였다. 학습능력 향상을 위한 주요 전략으로는 만화로 된 교육내용, 비밀 문의와 질의응답 기능, 버튼 색 변화 및 반복 학습기능 수록 등이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 스마트폰 어플리케이션은 학교, 청소년 관련 기관 및 병원에서 청소년들의 성매개 감염병 지식, 성매개 감염병 예방 및 성매개 감염병 대처 능력을 향상 시키는데 활용 될 수 있다.

Entrepreneurial Universities - Towards a Revised Paradigm

  • This article provides a comprehensive review of the entrepreneurial university concept and its place and role in the triple helix of university, industry, and government. This is increasingly important because stake-holders' expectations towards universities are growing; this growth in turn leads to increased pressure on universities to move beyond their traditional roles and models towards taking responsibility for economic development, large scale basic education and targeted further education and the development of value from research. These expectations provide opportunities for universities, but impose threats on the existing models and practices. It further elaborates on implications for university management, departments, faculty members and supporting organizations. Moreover it reflects on the meaning of the entrepreneurial university for stakeholders, i.e., university boards, regional and national policy and administrative bodies, funding agencies, the business community, university ranking institutions and the global university community overall. Recent literature on entrepreneurial universities is incomplete and mostly focused on the commercialization of research, technology transfer and the third mission of universities. The article expands the predominant thinking about entrepreneurial universities and gives a broader structured definition. Eventually the article shows the need for STI policy to intervene and measures for developing entrepreneurial universities further.

Entrepreneurship Education in the United States:Strengths and Opportunities for Growth

  • This paper explores the role of entrepreneurship education in a modern economy and how the government, academic, and nonprofit sectors in the United States have responded to this growing field. There are several sectors that play important roles in the entrepreneurship education landscape in the United States. Over the past decade, there has been increasing participation of Federal and state governments. This recent trend suggests the field may be increasing in maturity and legitimacy, showing promise for expanding the reach of entrepreneurship education programs. Programs sponsored by nonprofit organizations and private foundations complement government initiatives and display an effective means of leveraging knowledge and resources across the relevant sectors. Thus, new initiatives, whether initiated by government or academia, should learn from the successes of this sector as well as be carefully considered within the context of existent programs and services. Nonetheless, the potentially dynamic environment of the entrepreneurship education field in the United States offers a specific opportunity to leverage the experience in mentorship activities at the post-secondary education to address a possible gap in these activities at the secondary education level.

Literature Review about Virtual Reality-Based Education for Healthcare Students

  • The purpose of this study was to analyzed the current status of the of the Virtual Reality-based education for healthcare students in Korea. Five databases (KoreaMed, KMbase, NDSL, KISS, KiSTi) were searched prior to July 2022. A total 10 articles met the inclusion criteria. 5 articles developed VR-based education contents and the other 5 articles were using vSim already developed as a VR education program and evaluated the effectiveness. As a result of this literature review, VR-based education program was found to be effective in improving the healthcare students' competency. VR-based education program could be considered to improve the healthcare students' clinical practice ability.

Science and Technology Human Resource Capacity for Economic Growth: The Case of Korea

  • This paper presents the policies Korea adopted to educate and train scientists/researchers and technicians/skilled workers. The Korean policies for the increase of human resources in science and technology that stimulated an upgrading of skills in industry and adapted to technical advancements are identified. An important factor is that the supply and demand mechanism created a virtuous circle so that the science and technology education and training policies were responsive to economic demands. In addition, policies to foster a human resource capacity have enhanced the contribution of human resources in science and technology for innovation and economic growth.
