간호사의 성격요인과 지각한 간호조직문화가 태움에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Personality Factors and the Perceived Nursing Organizational Culture on Workplace Bullying of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The study examined the effects of personality factors and the perceived nursing organizational culture on workplace bullying of nurses. Methods: The participants were 110 allied general hospital with more than 300 beds. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression analysis with the SPSS program. Results: Workplace bullying differed significantly by marital status (t=-2.43, p=.017) and clinical career (F=3.82, p=.012). Statistically significant positive relationships was observed between workplace bullying and hierarch-oriented culture (r=.24, p=.031), and task-oriented culture (r=.26, p=.006), negative relationships was observed between workplace bullying and relationship-oriented culture (r=-.37, p<.001), and Innovation-oriented culture (r=-.24, p=012). A total of 23.7% of workplace bullying was explained by clinical career and relation-oriented culture. Conclusion: These results could be used in the development of workplace bullying preventive programs and caring programs for nurses considering clinical career by focusing the organizational efforts on relationship-oriented culture creation.

성인 초기의 태도, 주관적 규범, 자기효능감이 미세먼지 노출저감화행위에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Attitude, Subjective Norm, and Self-efficacy on Prevention Behaviors of Particulate Matter (PM10-2.5) Exposure in Young Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing prevention behaviors for particulate matter exposure in young adults. Methods: A convenience sample of 330 young adults was recruited from the community. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program. Results: The factors affecting prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure were self-efficacy (β=.54 p<.001), subjective norm (β=.18, p<.001) and using the air purifier (β=.-17, p<.001). These variables had a 46% variance to explain prevention behaviors for particulate matter exposure. Conclusion: Findings showed that 'self-efficacy' and 'subjective norm' were important factors influencing prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure in young adults. Thus, we need to consider the positive impact of prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure and increase the chances of prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure program for young adults.

중소병원 종사자의 환자안전관리 중요성과 환자안전문화 인식이 안전수행에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Perception of Importance of Patient Safety Management and Culture on of Small and Medium-sized Hospital Employees' Safety Performance)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of the perception of the importance of patient safety management and culture on employees' safety performance in small and medium -sized hospitals. Methods: The participants comprised 119 hospital employees, including nurses, doctors, and medical technicians. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS program. Results: The mean safety performance was 4.09±0.34, mean safety compliance was 4.12±0.44, and safety participation was 4.06±0.38. There were significant differences in safety performance by gender and job. Safety performance and its assocation with both perception of importance on patient safety management and, perception of patient safety culture showed a positive correlation. Safety performance was influenced by the perception of patient safety culture. The explanatory power was 15.7%. Conclusion: Based on these results, improving the perception of patient safety culture is necessary to increase safety performance. To this end developing and applying an interprofessional safety performance education program for employees in small and medium-sized hospitals is vital.

일부 성인의 구강건강 지식이 구강건강 증진 행위에 미치는 영향 (Effect of oral health knowledge on oral health promotion behavior in adult)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate oral health-related knowledge in adults and to determine the effect of oral health knowledge on correct brushing and use of dental care products. Methods: The subjects of this study were 552 adults who visited dental clinic, and a self-administered questionnaire was administered. Statistical analysis was performed using the t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression using the SPSS statistics program (ver. 23.0, IBM Co., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: The oral health knowledge level, correct brushing, and dental care product usage scores were found to be positively correlated (r=0.015, 0.016), and both correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p<0.05). Oral health knowledge was found to have a significant effect on correct brushing among oral health promotion behaviors (β=0.116, p=0.006), but it was not found to have a significant effect on the use of dental care products (β=0.053, p=0.214). Conclusions: Oral health promotion behavior is closely related to oral health knowledge, and it is thought that oral health promotion behavior can be improved by raising oral health knowledge levels.

어시장 상인의 건강증진행위 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Health-Promoting Behaviors among Fish Market Merchants)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors influencing health-promoting behaviors (HPB) among fish market merchants. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive design including 117 merchants working at a fish market in city C. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaires during April 19-30, 2021, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé's test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: The scores were 2.68±0.49 for HPB among fish market merchants. Factors significantly influencing HPB among fish market merchants were perceived disabilities (β=-.42, p<.001), self-efficacy (β=.26, p<.001), perceived benefits (β=.16, p=.012), exercise (β=.14, p=.023) and daily working hours (β=-.13, p=.030). These factors accounted for 60.3% of the HPB of fish market merchants. Conclusion: These findings suggest that efforts are needed to reduce perceived disabilities, reduce working hours per day, and develop programs to enhance self-efficacy, perceived benefits, and exercise in order promote HPB among fish market merchants.

요양병원 간호사의 윤리적민감성과 개인-환경적합성이 인간중심돌봄에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Ethical Sensitivity and Person-environment Fit on Person-centered Care of Nurses in Long-term Care Hospitals)

  • Purpose: The study examined the effects of ethical sensitivity and person-environment fit on person-centered care of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Methods: The participants were 111 nurses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS program. Results: The mean of person-centered care was 2.95±0.62 out of 5. There were significant differences in person-centered care in terms of age, shift pattern, total clinical career, and educational experience of person-centered care. Person-centered care and ethical sensitivity, person-centered care and person-environment fit showed a positive correlation. Factors affecting the person-centered care were the age (20-29), shift pattern (three shift), person-environment fit. The explanatory power was 42%. Conclusion: These results can be used to increase the person-environment fit and adopt a differented approach based on age and shift pattern in order to enhance person-centered care. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply an person-centered care program for nurses in long-term care hospitals.

  • Purpose: This study investigated the factors influencing the risk of relapse in community-dwelling adults with alcohol use disorder. Methods: This study included 122 community-dwelling individuals with alcohol use disorder who were receiving outpatient treatment at a mental health treatment hospital or were enrolled in a treatment program at the Community Addition Management Center in Gyeonggi Province. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from July to August 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 25.0. Results: Abstinence self-efficacy (𝛽=-.56, p<.001), social support (𝛽=-.35, p=.009), female sex (𝛽=11.29, p=.015), and a family history of alcoholism (𝛽=9.41, p=.026) were significant predictors of relapse risk, accounting for 56% of the variance (F=12.68, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that abstinence self-efficacy and social support are pivotal in reducing risk of relapse in individuals with alcohol use disorder. Therefore, relevant and effective interventions focusing on enhancing abstinence self-efficacy and social support are required.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the predictors of psychological well-being in middle-aged female workers by examining the relationship between positive psychological capital, job stress, and job satisfaction. Methods: Data were collected from 145 middle-aged female workers. A self-report questionnaire was used to assess the level of positive psychological capital, job stress, job satisfaction, and psychological well-being. SPSS/WIN version 23.0 was employed for data analysis. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: The most significant predictors of psychological well-being in the participants were positive psychological capital, living standards, and hobby. These explained 39% of the variance for psychological well-being. Conclusion: We found that positive psychological capital, living standards, and hobby influenced the participants' psychological well-being. Therefore, to improve middle-aged female workers' psychological well-being, developing a program based on positive psychological capital management is necessary.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how one's motive to choose a major of study, career values, and satisfaction with the major affect immersion within the major. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire on choice of major and career values was completed by 224 students from March 2nd to March 15th of 2022. The collected data were analyzed using several metrics and tests with IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 software: frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and linear regression. Results: The average scores of the motive to choose a major, career values, satisfaction with the major, and immersion in the major were 3.15, 3.91, 3.56, and 3.45, respectively. There were significant correlations between all four variables (p<0.05). Career values and satisfaction with the major positively influenced a student's immersion in that major; the explanatory power of the model was 77% (p<0.01). Conclusion: The department should offer education on career values to further increase the immersion of dental technician students within their chosen major.

COVID-19 팬데믹 시기 간호대학생의 사회접촉과 자살사고: 우울, 외로움의 매개효과 (Influence of Social Contact on Suicidal Ideation among Nursing Students during the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Mediating Effects of Depression and Loneliness)

  • Purpose: Over the past two years, most Korean nursing students had to go through distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, amental health crisis has emerged among nursing students in South Korea. The study aimed to examine the relationships among social contact, depression, loneliness, and suicidal ideation. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was used to collect data from nursing students. The survey was conducted onlinein South Korea. A total of 184 nursing students were recruited from December 2021 to April 2022. For data analysis,the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation of the general characteristics of the subjects were calculated using IBM/SPSS Statistics 25.0. To examine the mediating effect of depression and loneliness on the relationship between social contact and suicidal ideation, multiple linear regression was used to analyze associations among social contact, depression, loneliness, and suicidal ideation. Results: The average age was 22.69±5.66 years (range=18~54), and the sex distribution was 155 females among 184 nursing students. Lower social contact among nursing students was significantly associated with higher depression and loneliness. Loneliness significantly mediated the relationship between social contact and suicidal ideation innursing students. Conclusion: The findings suggest that strategies for enhancing social contact and reducing depression and loneliness should be considered to improve suicidal ideation among nursing students.
