  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the maternal functioning and related factors among early postpartum women. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 243 women recruited from three women's hospitals. Participants completed a structured questionnaire in on-line or off-line between 6 and 12 weeks postpartum. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS for Windows ver. 25.0. Results: The mean score for the maternal functioning was 73.28±16.78 out of 120 points. Maternal functioning was associated with postpartum depression (r=-.57 p<.001), and spousal and family support (r=.54, p<.001). According to the stepwise multiple regression, postpartum depression (β=-0.43, p<.001), spouse and family support (β=0.39, p<.001), employment (β=0.12, p=.012) and delivery method (β=-0.10 p=.026) had a significant relationship with the maternal functioning among postpartum women. These variables had an explanatory power of 49.0% for maternal functioning. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop and implement a maternal intervention program focused on alleviating postpartum depression and improving spouse and family support. This study will be the starting point for various studies by identifying the maternal functioning of postpartum women for the first time in Korea.

The data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 21.0 program, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, and Pearson correlation coefficient calculation and multiple regression analysis. Data collection took place from October 2017 to December 2017. The factors affecting depression were stress (${\beta}=0.246$, p=.000), self-efficacy(${\beta}=-.170$, p=.000) and self-esteem(${\beta}=-.131$, p=.000). In order to prevent depression in nursing college students, it is necessary to investigate the cause of depression and the degree of depression, and to reduce the depression and find ways to counteract emotional health problems.

The data were collected from 210 subjects from February 6 to 16, 2018 using a structured self-report questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression with SPSS WIN Version 24.0. The quality of sleep was lower in female students than in male students. In multiple regression analysis, Awake time, School grades stress were significant predictors and explained 29.6% of quality of sleep for male students. In female students, Smart phone start age, School grades stress, Disability of daily living and Appraisal social support were significant predictors and explained 24.3% of quality of sleep. Therefore, it is expected to be used as basic data for the development of intervention programs that can solve the factors affecting the quality of sleep of adolescents, thereby helping the healthy development of youth.

Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS for Windows Ver. 22.0. The higher the major selection motivation and self-efficacy, the higher the college life adjustment. The lower the academic stress, the higher the college life adjustment. The factors influencing college life adjustment were self-efficacy, major selection motivation, monthly allowance, and the explanatory power of these variables for college life adjustment was 65.6%. Therefore, in order to improve the nursing students' college life adjustment, it is necessary to develop and apply college life adjustment program to increase self-efficacy.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the responsibility & critical thinking disposition and identify influencing factors of clinical competence of nursing students who have completed clinical practice. Data collection was performed from Dec. 11th, 2019 to Dec. 13th. A total of 119 4th grade nursing students were selected. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS 25.0. As a result of this study, the correlated factors of clinical competence included responsibility(r=.53, p<.001), critical thinking disposition(r=.71, p<.001). The factors influencing clinical competence were critical thinking disposition(𝛽=.56, p<.001), responsibility(𝛽=.32, p<.001), and clinical practice satisfaction(𝛽=.13, p=.012). These factors accounted for 52% of the clinical competence(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply educational programs so that concrete and practical education for reinforcing critical thinking disposition and responsibility can be performed together with clinical practice.
