  • Daejeon City has strived to support the SMEs to innovate technologies based on the capabilities of research and development of the Daedeok Innopolis. It is widely known that technological innovation is the key strategy of Small medium enterprises(SME) to survive and succeed in a market. This study aims to analyze the type and determinants of SME technological innovation in Daejeon. Even though most of firms are the small enterprises which employ less than 10 workers in Daejeon, the number of technology-oriented company per capita in Daejeon is highest in South Korea. The type of technological innovation is divided between product innovation and process innovation. The literature insists that technology-oriented small firm tends to implement product innovation rather than process innovation. SMEs in Daejeon also provided more output from product innovation than process innovation. The empirical analysis provided the results that the determinants of SME's technological innovation depends on its type. The scale of firm, R&D investment, and R&D employees positively influence product innovation of SMEs in Daejeon. However, the impact of R&D employees is not significant on innovating the existing product. Process innovation is positively affected by R&D investment and firm age. The study provides the policy implications to business supporting programs of Daejeon government. The business supporting policy of Daejeon government should focus on supporting each type of technological innovation to promote technological innovation by SME and consider strategies that focus on R&D investment and manpower support.

  • As the strategy to support SMEs' innovation has shifted to induce market-oriented innovation, the Korean government increasingly invests in grant-type R&D projects proposed by SME firms. This study reveals the characteristics of grant-type R&D projects proposed by SME firms through a transition of national R&D strategy and demand-pull innovation perspectives. This study also examines the differences between grant-type R&D projects proposed by firms and R&D projects led by the government through logit-analysis and propensity score matching methods. As a result, we found that a national R&D project for SMEs yields better innovation performance when the project is proposed by a company than led by the government.

  • In the network economy, the informatization of Small and Medium enterprises(SME) plays an important role in determining productivity while being competitive in the businesses. Informatization of SME has become important along with the recent trend of the fourth industrial revolution. Based on the IT Business Value Model, this study analyzes the key factors of information service of SME with the structure model. In addition, multi-level model was conducted by dividing the layers according to the size of the SME. The analysis confirmed that complementary organizational resources are a key factor in determining the informatization of SME. In addition, the effect of informatization of SME on the scale of SME varies depending on the type of entry into the industrial complex.

  • Recently, the robot actuator worked by the driving recovery-force of the thermo elastic martensitic transformation of shape memory alloys(SMA) has been studied. In general, such a SMA actuator necessitates a number of cyclic repeated motion, so that the investigation of gradual decrease of recovery force with repeated motion cycle as well as the prevention of such a degradation of shape memory effect(SME) are very important for the actual use of a robot actuator. However, such research and discussions about the degradation of SME are very few up to the present. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of the cyclic deformation and degradation of SME of Ti-Ni alloy would be investigated and discussed in detail by current heat type fatigue tester, which is a newly designed fatigue tester by author. In addition, we will establish a new design concept for robot actuator from these result.

  • The government is carrying out information security consulting support projects to solve the difficulties of SME information protection activities. Since the information security consulting methodology applied to SMEs does not apply the proven methodology such as the critical information and communication infrastructure(CIIP), ISMS, ISO27001, etc. It applies various methods for each consulting provider. It is difficult to respond appropriately depending on the organizational situation such as the type and size of SMEs. In order to improve such problems of SME information security consulting and to improve more effective, effective and standard methodology, the information security consulting methodology applied in the current system was compared and analyzed. Through the improvement plan for SME information security consulting method suggested in this study, it is possible to provide information security consulting suitable for all enterprises regardless of SME size or business type.

  • In the digital mapping for data base contruction, the positional information is used as an important tool in LIS/GIS(Land Information System/Geographic Information System) that is used for a facility management, urban/cadastral management as well as in spatial analysis. In this paper, for an error analysis of X, Y coordinates data on digital map, test area was classified by topography, density, and slope. The coordinates on topographic map were assumed as true values and they were compared with the coordinates on digital map. A result of the numerical test show that a vector data of line type had more gross error than vector data of polygon type. And, SME(stanadrd mean error) of urban or intermountain area had small values compared to that of suburban area in topography analysis. The SME of dense and middle zone had small values compared to that of loose zone in density analysis. In another slope analysis. the SME of steep of gentle slope had small values compared to that of flatland.

  • The purpose of this study is to present segmentation strategies by analyzing SMEs' perceptions of SME support program. That's why we used the research report of the NST(National Research Council of Science & Technology), which is advanced cooperation way between GRIs and SMEs based on market demand. As a result of this study, it was found that there is a difference in the demand for the SME support program depending on the type of cooperation and the cooperation experience with GRIs. This implies that a differentiated support strategy is required for the establishment of successful partnership between GRIs and SMEs. The result of this study suggests the direction of open collaborative ecosystem formation in the future based on the support strategies of each cluster. And it is expected to help SMEs improve the competitiveness and efficiency of support through effective customization support do.

  • Due to strong wind of smartphone, change in human life is facing 21 Century's new revolution. The end of 2012, The record rate of supply of smartphone is up to 58.8 percent. So the reputation of IT power are continuing. Korea is boasting IT infrastructure, and the reputation of IT power with rapidly evolving. But Korea is one of OECD country with the longest working hours and in labor productivity, yet is located in the lower rank. Now, common social issues such as low-carbon, green growth, low birthrate, graying, labor productivity growth, the reduce greenhouse gas is constantly increasing in worldwide. So Smart Work is getting attention as a way to resolve this. In this paper, we study the impact of small business on local economy and the status information of small business on statistical point of view. And we offer the smart work countermeasures of small business through detailed action elements and the model proposed fot driving factor for the promotion of smart work. Through this, we propose the IT system model for The SMEs-type smart work system.
