A Study on the Survey Method of the Residents' Housing Needs Using Interactive Media 2 - Focused on the Visual Needs of Residents - (인터랙티브 미디어를 이용한 거주자 요구 조사방법에 관한 연구 2 - 거주자의 시각적 측면의 요구도를 중심으로 -)

  • At a time of emphasized need for user-oriented design, methods such as Post Occupancy Evaluation are being used to measure the exact demands of the users. The conventional methods, however, have mostly been conducted based on questionnaires printed on paper, which has posed numerous problems in researches designed to measure the visual demands. Along with the continued development of the internet and computer media, there have been examples of interactive media applications as a means of improving the existing paper-based research methods. This study is a follow-up to the primary study that unveiled cautious variances of the media. 200 samples of media-based researches were extracted to be used in analysis of in-depth visual demands. 200 housewives from rural Iud development zones, who exercises the most influence in household purchases in these regions where the problem of rate of distribution Is coming under the limelight, were chosen as the subjects. The subjects were selected from land development zones of Gimhae-si and Haeundae. At first, the research was prepared as a web-based endeavor but it employed direct research of field personnel in consideration of that this research is in the beginning. This follow-up study deals mainly with the visual demands for which cautious variances were detected in the primary study and includes analysis of mainly ground Plan layout, space coloration, livingroom utilization, and vlsual composition of LDK. Media research had the advantage of zero rate of questionnaire error due to a pre-programmed search routine, and it was possible to ascertain the actual trade-off basis demands of the residents in terms of ground plan layout. In addition, whereas conventional research methods based on still images were susceptible to the preconceptions of the respondents, the interactive media allowed for easy understanding of the spatial layout and thus made it possible for all respondents to provide answers under the same conditions.

A simple estimate of the carbon budget for burned and unburned Pinus densiflora forests at Samcheok-si, South Korea

  • To clarify the effects of forest fire on the carbon budget of a forest ecosystem, this study compared the seasonal variation of soil respiration, net primary production and net ecosystem production (NEP) over the year in unburned and burned Pinus densiflora forest areas. The annual net carbon storage (i.e., NPP) was $5.75t\;C\;ha^{-1}$ in the unburned site and $2.14t\;C\;ha^{-1}$ in the burned site in 2012. The temperature sensitivity of soil respiration (i.e., $Q_{10}$ value) was higher in the unburned site than in the burned site. The annual soil respiration rate was estimated by the exponential regression equation with the soil temperatures continuously measured at the soil depth of 10 cm. The estimated annual soil respiration and heterotrophic respiration (HR) rates were 8.66 and $4.50t\;C\;ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ in the unburned site and 4.08 and $2.12t\;C\;ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ in the burned site, respectively. The estimated annual NEP in the unburned and burned forest areas was found to be 1.25 and $0.02t\;C\;ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$, respectively. Our results indicate that the differences of carbon budget and cycling between both study sites are considerably correlated with the losses of living plant biomass, insufficient nutrients and low organic materials in the forest soil due to severe damages caused by the forest fire. The burned Pinus densiflora forest area requires at least 50 years to attain the natural conditions of the forest ecosystem prior to the forest fire.

Development of Nano Ceramic Structures for HEPA Type Breathing Wall (HEPA Filter형 숨쉬는 벽체용 나노세라믹 여재개발)

  • In the perspective of saving energy in buildings, high performance of insulation and air tightness for improving the heating and the cooling efficiency has brought the positive effect in an economical view. However, these building energy saving technologies cause the lack of ventilation, which is the direct cause of increasing the indoor contaminants, and it is also very harmful to residents because they spend over 90% of their time in the indoor area. Therefore, the ventilation is important to keep indoor environment clean and it can also save energy consumption. In this study, a HEPA type breathing wall is designed as a passive ventilation system to collect airborne particles and to supply fresh outdoor air. To make fine porous structures, polymer nano fibers which were made by electro spinning method are used as a precursor. The nano fibers are coated with SiO2 nano particles and finally the HEPA type breathing wall is made by sintering in the electric furnace at $300\sim500^{\circ}C$. The pressure drops of nano ceramic structure are 8.2, 25.5 and 44.9 mmAq at the face velocity of 2.0, 5.9 and 8.8 cm/s, respectively. Also the water vapor permeability is $3.6g/m^2{\cdot}h{\cdot}mmHg$. In this research, the porous nano ceramic structures are obtained and the possibility for the usage of a material for HEPA type breathing wall can be obtained.

A Study on the Measures for Applying Standard Development Cost for the Revision of Development Charge System (개발부담금 개편을 위한 표준개발비용 적용방안 연구)

  • Development Charge System was introduced in 1989 to recapture development gains, however, it has been revised more than 20 times since then. The reason for such frequent revisions was that estimating development cost was too composite and indefinite. Therefore it is required that estimating method of development cost should be simplified in order to minimize conflicts among diverse parties. To support the recent revision of 'Restitution and Development Gains Act', this study verified several alternatives of applying standardized costs per area under specific size of development and suggested policy implications. For analysis data, 9,362 Development Charge and cost data of si gun gu for recent 3 years were used. The results showed that dividing Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA) and non-SMA made a significant difference and definite divisions among regional groups. The result of this study could minimize social conflicts as well as contribute in realizing the public concept of land policy by revising Development Charge System.

CaO Optimal Classification Conditions for the Use of Waste Concrete Fine Powder as a Substitute for Limestone in Clinker Raw Materials (폐콘크리트 미분말을 클링커 원료의 석회석 대체재로 사용하기 위한 CaO 최적 분급 조건)

  • This study aims to reduce CO2 generated during the manufacturing process by using limestone (CaCO3), a carbonate mineral used in the production of cement clinker, as a decarbonated raw material that does not contain CO2. Among various industrial by-products, we attempted to use cement paste attached to waste concrete. In general, limestone for cement must have a CaCO3 content of at least 80% (CaO, 44% or more) to ensure the quality of cement clinker. However, the CaO content of waste concrete fine powder is about 20% on average, so in order to use it as a cement clinker raw material, the CaO content must be increased to more than 35%. Therefore, by using the difference in hardness of the mineral composition of waste concrete fine powder to selectively crush CaO type minerals with relatively low hardness, classify and sieve, the CaO content can be increased by more than 35%. Accordingly, in this study, we experimentally and statistically reviewed and analyzed the optimal conditions for efficiently separating CaO and SiO2 and other components by selectively pulverizing minerals containing relatively low CaO through a grinding process. As a result of the optimal grinding conditions experiment, it was found that the optimal conditions were a grinding time of less than 5 minutes, a type of material to be crushed of 30 mm, and an amount of material to be crushed of 1.0 or more. However, it is judged that it is necessary to review pulverized materials of mixed particle sizes rather than pulverized products of single particle size.

Perception of Community Family-Friendliness among Parents with Young Children in Urban and Rural Areas (도시화 규모에 따른 미취학자녀 부모의 지역사회 가족친화성 인식 : 대도시, 중소도시, 농어촌의 비교)

  • This study aims to find the association between community scales and perceived community family-friendliness among parents with young children. Communities were identified into three groups: metropolitan, small and medium-sized cities and rural, according to the degree of urbanization. The data were drawn from a sample of 1,038 parents who had at least one pre-school child. The data were analyzed by frequencies, means, GIS, ANOVA, and multiple regressions. This study compared the level of community family-friendliness both at the 'dong' and 'si' levels after controlling for the individual and household characteristics of the respondents. The findings of this study are as follows. First, after controlling for individual and household factors, the level of perceived community family-friendliness differed by the community scales. The parents in the small and medium-sized cities had higher scores on community family-friendliness than their counterparts in metropolitan communities. And parents in rural communities received had lower scores in community family-friendliness than those in metropolitan communities. The results also showed similar patterns for the 'dong' and 'si' models. While job and housing type were associated with the perceived family-friendliness of the community, other characteristics such as sex, age, educational level, monthly household income and home ownership were not.

Vacant House Prediction and Important Features Exploration through Artificial Intelligence: In Case of Gunsan (인공지능 기반 빈집 추정 및 주요 특성 분석)

  • The extinction crisis of local cities, caused by a population density increase phenomenon in capital regions, directly causes the increase of vacant houses in local cities. According to population and housing census, Gunsan-si has continuously shown increasing trend of vacant houses during 2015 to 2019. In particular, since Gunsan-si is the city which suffers from doughnut effect and industrial decline, problems regrading to vacant house seems to exacerbate. This study aims to provide a foundation of a system which can predict and deal with the building that has high risk of becoming vacant house through implementing a data driven vacant house prediction machine learning model. Methodologically, this study analyzes three types of machine learning model by differing the data components. First model is trained based on building register, individual declared land value, house price and socioeconomic data and second model is trained with the same data as first model but with additional POI(Point of Interest) data. Finally, third model is trained with same data as the second model but with excluding water usage and electricity usage data. As a result, second model shows the best performance based on F1-score. Random Forest, Gradient Boosting Machine, XGBoost and LightGBM which are tree ensemble series, show the best performance as a whole. Additionally, the complexity of the model can be reduced through eliminating independent variables that have correlation coefficient between the variables and vacant house status lower than the 0.1 based on absolute value. Finally, this study suggests XGBoost and LightGBM based machine learning model, which can handle missing values, as final vacant house prediction model.

A Study on Consumers' Information Demand of Genetically Modified Organisms(GMO) (유전자재조합식품(GMO)에 대한 소비자 정보요구도 연구)

  • This study analyzed the degree of demand for genetically modified organisms(GMOs) to provide the basic information for consumers' reasonable purchase decision making and their right to know about GMOs. Based on the (Ed-there are no study results above) study results, the following suggestion were made. First, throughout the survey, it was found that those consumers who participated had a high level of perception on the harm of GMOs. Therefore, reliable organizations such as government agencies are required to present the results of safety tests and formulate plans related to the safety of GMOs. Second, the average score on consumers' level of consumer knowledge on GMOs was very low, being 1.68 out of a possible 8 points. Third, since women and housewives engaged in dietary habits and food had high demand for information on GMOs, it is necessary to provide women with information on GMOs. Fourth, since it is difficult to confirm the presence or absence of GMOs. in rapidly increasing demand for fast-food, it is necessary that consumers be provided with relevant information and make a reasonable judgement in purchasing food. Fifth, it is necessary to provide detailed regulations and measures for concrete contents and directions of information on GMOs. Sixth, it is necessary to provid information on GMOs from the commercial sources of information that are most preferred by consumers.

  • The aim of the study is to estimate the management costs of apartments by the types of heating systems(individual, central, district heating system). Multiple regression analysis was adapted and the used data are derived from 128 apartment complexes in Daegeon-si. The results are as follows; first, the management cost is decreased as a size of apartment is larger, second, the costs of general maintenance, security and repairing of buildings are lower in individual heating system. however, there is no significant differences in cleaning costs by the types of heating systems.

  • The residence plan of Korea has been formed with bias for quantitative growth and uniformity failing at obtaining human value. Also, rapid growth brought about severe problems of deteriorated human life and destruction of environment. The solution for these problems is pursued in many directions, but there is short of active plan yet. The residence shall develop into new direction to satisfy the demand by reflecting society and culture as well as residents. This study examines external design with symbolic representation of regional feature as an alternative for uniform residence environment problem. This study will be a basic data upon suggesting the direction for planning high quality residence environment. This study examined the elements which form external space of residence complex, designed plan for external space of residence complex, and examined how to reflect regional feature which is important element of local community and culture on the space plan for residence complex based on the evaluation by local residents centered on Gimcheon-si, Gyeongbuk which just started local specialty by fostering. 'Special Area for Grape Industry.'
