  • This study sought to investigate the effect of academic satisfaction on the dropout intention of cosmetology undergraduates. Analyzing the effect of academic satisfaction on career dropouts showed that the sub-factors of academic satisfaction-evaluation satisfaction, class satisfaction had a statistically significant part effect. Analyzing the effect of academic satisfaction on psychological factors for dropping out showed that the sub-factors of academic satisfaction have a statistically significant effect. Furthermore, regarding the effect of academic satisfaction on environmental factors, the sub-factors of academic satisfaction have a statistically significant effect on wealth. High satisfaction was shown to have no statistically significant effect on dropout intention. The results of the study showed that the higher the degree of satisfaction with the evaluation and the degree of satisfaction with the course of beauty majors, the more negative (-) the impact on dropout. For cosmetology majors, academic satisfaction is a subjective emotion felt through study at university and major. Students with high academic satisfaction are more likely to love their school and their work, and positively influence their intention to stay in school and reduce student dropout rates. Intention to drop out indicates the intention to lose interest and purpose in cosmetology college students. This is directly linked to the dropout rate of school students and requires steady research. Through this research, we hope that active discussions will be held on academic satisfaction and intention to drop out of university students specializing in cosmetology.

  • Background: The objective of this study was to explore patient family's evaluation of emergency department (ED) service satisfaction and to compare these with ED staff perception of patient family's evaluation. Methods: Based on two surveys of the National Emergency Medical Center: the 2008 National Survey for Recognition and Satisfaction towards Emergency Medical Services and the 2008 Opinion Survey of Emergency Medical Service Providers, satisfaction gaps among physicians, nurses, and patient family were evaluated by Kruskal-Wallis tests and Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney tests. Furthermore, the factors associated with satisfaction of emergency medical service were identified by ordinal logistic regression models. Results: There were statistically significant gaps among physicians, nurses, and patient family in overall satisfaction with ED visit, length of stay in ED, enough explanation, physicians/nurses kindness, and ED facilities. Age and income in the patient family model, the number of beds in hospital, job satisfaction and year of service in the physicians model, and the number of beds in hospital, job satisfaction and the number of patients per duty hour in the nurses model were statistically significant factors associated with evaluation/ perception of ED service satisfaction. Conclusion: Patient satisfaction is an important indicator of the quality of care and service delivery in the ED. To improve and understand satisfaction in ED service, a dyadic view of the evaluation of service quality and satisfaction-that is, from the perspectives of both the patient and the emergency medical service providers-should be concerned.

Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 487 dental hygiene students in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan. Data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 program. Results : Those who chose the dental hygiene by themselves tended to have higher satisfaction(p<0.05). Those who chose the major by teacher's advice tended to have higher satisfaction for the clinical practice(p<0.05). The satisfaction level between the education and clinical practice was equally proportional to each other. Multiple regression test showed that the influencing factors on satisfaction level included major satisfaction and lecture satisfaction(p<0.05). Conclusions : Satisfaction with the major influenced on the clinical practice performance. More systematic approach for the better curricula can bestow the students satisfaction with the major in the future.

The survey response results for 193 participants in marriage enrichment programs were analyzed with the statistics analysis application IBM SPSS 20.0. The findings of this study are as follows. An examination of relative influence of participation motivation and education satisfaction with the positive behavioral intention of participants in marriage enrichment programs indicated that internal motivation had a positive influence on education satisfaction, external motivation had a negative influence on satisfaction for facility environment and satisfaction with employee service, and motivation had positive influence only on facility environment. An examination of the influence of participation motivation and education satisfaction with the positive behavioral intention of the participants in marriage enrichment programs indicated that internal motivation and external motivation had a high positive influence on positive behavioral intention. However, motivation did not have a significant influence on behavior after participation. In education satisfaction, satisfaction with content, satisfaction with instructor, and satisfaction with employee service had a positive influence on positive behavioral intention, however, satisfaction with facility environment had negative influence on positive behavioral intention.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the life satisfaction of adolescents in the ecological contexts of their individual, family, school, and social-cultural experiences. The participants were 1,099 middle and high school students in Chungnam-do. Instruments were the Satisfaction with Life Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory, the School Life Satisfaction Scale, and Social-Cultural Satisfaction Scale. Data analysis involved the use of descriptive statistics, t- and F-tests, Duncan's multiple range test, product-moment correlations, multiple regression, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, and factor analysis. Results were as follows: Firstly, middle school students showed the highest levels of life satisfaction, and vocational high school students reported the lowest levels. Also, life satisfaction was inversely related to school grades. Secondly, for all the students, life satisfaction was positive correlated with self-esteem, open communication with parents, school life satisfaction, and social-cultural satisfaction. Lastly, open communication with parents and overall satisfaction with life at school explained more of the variance in adolescent life satisfaction than any other factors.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing patient satisfaction and to evaluate the utility of patient satisfaction as an outcome indicator. The study was conducted by mailed questionnaire. The subjects were 900 patients discharged from adult nursing units in a tertiary teaching hospital. On the discharge date, questionnaires were distributed by two trained research assistants. The questionnaire developed by the researchers was based on Larson(1996)'s study, and consisted of 71 items with the following components: overall satisfaction, domain-specific satisfaction(administration process, hospital facility and environment, nurses, and doctors), patients' loyalty(intention to use the health care service of the hospital in the future), recommendation to others, health benefits, and demographic characteristics. Each item was rated using a five point Likert scale ranging from '1=strongly disagree' to '5= strongly agree'. The response rate was 43%(387/900). The satisfaction level with the health care service was generally high. Perceived health status was the only significant factor influencing satisfaction level. Satisfaction with doctors contributed the most to explaining overall satisfaction. Overall satisfaction was significantly correlated with patient loyalty, recommendation, to other and perceived health benefit. It was found that the score of satisfaction was positively correlated with the score of loyalty, recommendation, and health benefit. Therefore, patient satisfaction seems to be a good outcome indicator.
