This work proposes a 12b 100MS/s 0.13um CMOS pipeline ADC for battery-powered mobile video applications such as DVB-Handheld (DVB-H), DVB-Terrestrial (DVB-T), Satellite DMB (SDMB), and Terrestrial DMB (TDMB) requiring high resolution, low power, and small size at high speed. The proposed ADC employs a three-step pipeline architecture to optimize power consumption and chip area at the target resolution and sampling rate. A single shared and switched op-amp for two MDACs removes a memory effect and a switching time delay, resulting in a fast signal settling. A two-step reference selection scheme for the last-stage 6b FLASH ADC reduces power consumption and chip area by 50%. The prototype ADC in a 0.13um 1P7M CMOS technology demonstrates a measured DNL and INL within 0.40LSB and 1.79LSB, respectively. The ADC shows a maximum SNDR of 60.0dB and a maximum SFDR of 72.4dB at 100MS/s, respectively. The ADC with an active die area of 0.92 $mm^2$ consumes 24mW at 1.0V and 100MS/s. The FOM, power/($f_s{\times}2^{ENOB}$), of 0.29pJ/conv. is the lowest of ever reported 12b 100MS/s ADCs.
Sertoli cell tumor (SCT) of the testicle arises from the supporting cells within the seminiferous tubules. SCT is common in dogs, especially in cryptorchid testicles, but also has been reported in the stallion, ram, cat, and bull. Sertoli cell tumor sample was collected from 7-years male german shepherd. In this study, SCT arose from one testicle. Sample size is approximately 1.7 cm in diameter and it has a round form. In the microscopic, cells within the tumor variably resemble Sertoli cells (SCs) that normally populate the seminiferous tubules and interstitial area. There is abundant stroma of dense, mature fibrous connective tissue in SCT. In the immunohistochemical staining, cytokeratin AE1/AE3 was not expressed in the control and SCT. S-100 protein was expressed by SCs, germ cells and fibrous connective tissue of SCT. Melan A was expressed by leydig cells (LCs) of SCT. A study by using S-100 and melan A in canine SCT was almost never carried out. S-100 and melans A is considered to suggest for diagnosis and pathogenesis of canine SCTs. Inhibin-alpha and Vimentin were well known as the marekers of SCTs. Also, they were expressed by Sertoli cells and LSs of SCT in this study.
A 11b 100KS/s Algorithmic ADC for Digital PFC controller is proposed. The proposed Algorithmic ADC structure for 11bit resolution is based on a cyclic architecture to reduce chip area and power consumption. The prototype Algorithmic ADC implemented with a 0.18um 1Poly-3Metal CMOS process shows a SNDR 66.7dB and ENOB 10.78bits. And the current consumption is about 780uA at 100KS/s and 5V. The occupied active die area is $0.27mm^2$.

The Hygrothermal aging of the laminates of $Avimid^(R)$ K3B/IM7 in $80^{\circ}C$ water was studied as a function of immersion time prior to forming microcracks. The factors causing the $80^{\circ}C$ water to degradation of the laminates could be the degradation of the matrix toughness, the change in residual stresses or the interfacial damage between the fiber and the matrix. The times to saturation in $80^{\circ}C$ water for the laminates and for the neat resin were 100 hours and 500 hours. After 500 hours aging of the neat resin, the glass transition temperature was changed less than 1% by DSC test, and the weight gain was 1.55% increase with the diffusion coefficient $7\times10^{-6}m/s^2$ and the fracture toughness was decreased about 41%. After 100 hours fully saturated aging of the ${[+45/0/-45/90]}_s$ K3B/IM7 laminates in $80^{\circ}C$ water, the weight gain was 0.41% increase with the diffusion coefficient $1\times10^{-6}m/s^2$. In 100 hours, the loss of the fracture toughness of the laminates was 43.8% of the original toughness by the microcracking fracture toughness criterion. Therefore, the main factor to degrade the microcracking toughness of the laminates could be the degradation of the matrix fracture toughness.
The concentrations of some components of the serum in a liver function test were determined in samples of 74 apparently healthy dairy cattle, imported from foreign countries in Jeonnam district, during the periods of June to September of 1975 and July to August of 1976. The ranges, mean concentrations and activities of the SGOT, SGPT, SALP, thymol turbidity, total protein, serum albumin, serum globulin, A/G ratio, total bilirubin and total cholesterol were investigated in this work. The total serum protein values of Holstein cows ranged from 5.9 to 8.6g/100ml with a mean of $7.17{\pm}0.65g/100ml$. 6. The serum albumin values of Holstein cows ranged from 2.5 to 4.3g/100ml with a mean of $3.24{\pm}0.28g/100ml$. 7. The serum globulin values of Holstein cows ranged from 2.9 to 5.8g/100ml with a mean of $4.02{\pm}0.72g/100ml$. 8. The A/G ratio of serum obtained from Holstein cows ranged from 0.5 to 1.0 with a mean of $0.78{\pm}0.12$. 9. The total bilirubin of serum obtained from Holstein cows ranged from 7.2 to 0.8mg/100ml, with a mean of $0.32{\pm}0.11mg/100ml$. 10. The total cholesterol of serum obtained from Holstein cows ranged from 50.5 to 240.6mg/100ml with a mean of $135.70{\pm}57.44mg/100ml$. 11. Present study was undertaken to establish the modified Broca's indices to estimate standard body weight by using a total of 5,496 insured persons who were medically examined at the Honam Medical Room of Dong Bang Life Insurance Company Ltd. from January, 1983 to January, 1986. The results were as follows: 1. The linear regression equations of body weight to $height^3$ to estimate standard body weight were as follows: In male, for $18{\sim}19$ age group $y=7.272{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+23.560$ for $20{\sim}29$ age group $y=8.187{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+22.031$ for $30{\sim}39$ age group $y=8.627{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+23.169$ for $40{\sim}49$ age group $y=9.561{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+20.994$ for $50{\sim}59$ age group $y=8.604{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+23.081$ and for all ages group $y=7.778{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+25.929$ In female, for $18{\sim}19$ age group $y=8.252{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+18.920$ for $20{\sim}29$ age group $y=7.715{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+22.409$ for $30{\sim}39$ age group $y=8.808{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+21.440$ for $40{\sim}49$ age group $y=9.691{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+21.940$ for $50{\sim}59$ age group $y=12.550{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+11.031$ and for all ages group $y=7.300{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+26.601$ In both sexes, for all ages group $y=8.342{\times}10^{-6}{\times}x^3+22.998$ 2. The modified Broca's index is expressed by formula $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}K(kg)$. K is obtained from the following formula standard weight to average height estimated $\frac{by\;means\;of\;linear\;regression\;equation(kg)}{\{Average\;height(cm)-100\}{\times}K(kg)}$=1 Author's modified Broca's indices are as follows: In male, for $18{\sim}19$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.85(kg)$ for $20{\sim}29$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.90(kg)$ for $30{\sim}39$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ for $40{\sim}49$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.00(kg)$ for $50{\sim}59$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ and for all ages group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ In female, for $18{\sim}19$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.90(kg)$ for $20{\sim}29$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.90(kg)$ for $30{\sim}39$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.00(kg)$ for $40{\sim}49$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.05(kg)$ for $50{\sim}59$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.05(kg)$ and for all ages group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.00(kg)$ In both sexes, for all age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ 3. Several types of modified Broca's index recommended by author are as follows: I. In male, for $18{\sim}29$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.90(kg)$ and for $30{\sim}59$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ In female, for $18{\sim}29$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.90(kg)$ and for $30{\sim}39$ age group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.00(kg)$ II. In male, for all ages group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ In female, for all ages group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}1.00(kg)$ III. In both sexes, for all ages group $\{height(cm)-100\}{\times}0.95(kg)$ Note: The first type of modified Broca's index is the most precise one in estimating standard body weight among several types established by author. 4. Error of estimated standard body weight appearing by applying modified Broca's indices is generally greater in short build persons than in tall build persons and is more dominant especially in female group.
The entomopathogenic nematodes, Steinernema carpocapsae All strain (ScA), S.glaseri NC strain (SgN) and H. bacteriophora NC 1 strain (HbN), were evaluated for the effects on egg mass formation by the northern root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne hapla in pot experiment using tomato. In the first experiment, 2.5$\times$10$^{5}$ infective juveniles (Ijs) of entomopathogenic nematodes were inoculated to 100 g of the soil infected with ca. 450 Ijs of M. hapla/100 ㎤ in 150 $mell$ container. The number of egg mass was significantly decreased to 9.4-36.5 in ScA, to 5.7-24.7 in SgN and to 11.2-16.0 in HbN treatments compared with 62.5 in M.hapla alone. In the second experiment, ScA and S.carpocapsae Pocheon strain (ScP) and SgN and S.glaseri Dongrae strain (SgD) were treated to 350 g of the soil infected with 100, 200 M.hapla larvae/100 ㎤ in 450 $mell$ container The entomopathogenic nematodes were inoculated at the rate of 2,020 Ijs and 1.6$\times$105 Ijs in 350 g soil. The number of egg mass of M.hapla were significantly decreased in the entomopathogenic nematode treatments compared with M.hapla alone although no differences were observed among Steinernema species, strains, or infection concentrations. Treatments of entomopathogenic nematodes 3 days before M.hapla inoculation were more effective on reduction of egg mass formation than those of 3 days after M.hapla treatments. Growth of tomato was not affected by entomopathogenic nematode treatments.
Using ICP-AES, we analyzed manganese content in 366 foods consumed frequently by Koreans. Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC) is the sixth most common cancer among men in the developed world affecting the tongue, pharynx, larynx and oral cavity. HNSCC is thought to represent a multistep process whereby carcinogen exposure leads to genetic instability in the tissue and accumulation of specific genetic events, which result in dysregulation of proliferation, differentiation, and cell loss and the acquisition of invasive capacity. Despite therapeutic and diagnostic progress in oncology during the past decades, the prognosis of HNSCC remains poor. Thus it seems that finding a biological tumor markers which will increase the early diagnosis and treatment monitoring rates, is of paramount importance in respect to improving prognosis. In an effort to identify gene expression signatures that may serve as biomarkers, this study several genes were selected, such as H3,3A, S100A7, UCHL1, GSTP1, PAI-2, PLK, TGF${\beta}$1 and bFGF, and used 7 HNSCC cell lines that were established various anatomical sites, and also 17 other cancer cell lines were used for control group using real-time quantitative RT-PCR and immunocytochemical analysis with a monoclonal antibody. In this study, S100A7 showed a clearly restricted occurrence in tongue originated cell line, and GSTP1 expression level in the pharynx originated cell line was very increased, relative to corresponding other cell lines. These results suggest that S100A7 and GSTP1 genes' expression can occur during tongue and pharynx originated head and neck tumorigenesis and that genetic change is an important driving force in the carcinogenesis process. This data indicate that S100A7 and GSTP1 expression pattern in HNSCC reflect both diagnostic clue and biological marker. And this is provides a foundation for the development of site-specific diagnostic strategies and treatments for HNSCC.
