케이블 공진을 이용한 600V 제어/계측용 꼬임쌍선 차폐 케이블의 열화상태 진단에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Deterioration Diagnosis of 600V Shielded Twisted Pair Control/Measurement Cable using Resonance Frequency)

  • Recent major domestic facilities, such as nuclear power plants, many control cables are installed and are degraded by long-term use, but research on deterioration diagnosis is lacking. In the event of a fault in the cable due to deterioration can be developed into a major accident such as the main plant is stopped, so the deterioration diagnostic techniques of high reliability for the cable is required. In this paper, proposes a methodology using a cable resonance that can effectively diagnose the deterioration of the cable. Prior to the test, we developed a setup for stable measuring the characteristics of the cable and it verified the suitable of the measurement set-up in terms of interactivity and reliability, also measured S-parameters applying verified measurement set-up to the cables that deterioration degree is different. Then, we had amplified the difference in resonance frequency between the healthy state and the deteriorated state using connection in a series of measured S-parameters. In a result from the method, we have verified that the more deteriorate the cables is, the more decrease the resonance frequency is. Measured results are justified by inducing the resonance frequency calculation of the cable from the S- parameters represented by the hyperbolic function formula. VNA(Vector Network Analyzer) for S-parameter measurements used in this study is Agilent E5061B and shielded twisted-pair cables was used for deterioration diagnostic test.

선형 Model에 의한 소류역에 있어서의 무차원 단위도 유도에 관한 연구 (A study on the derivation of Dimensionless Unit Hydrographs by the Linear model in the small watersheds)

  • This study was attempted to get dimensionless unit hydrograph by linear model which can be used to the estimation of flood for the development of Agricultural water resources and laid emphasis on the application of dimensionless unit hydrographs for the ungaged watersheds by applying linear model. The results summarized through this study are as follows. 1.Peak discharge is found to be Qp= CAR (C =0. 895A-o.145) having high significance between peak discharge, Qp and effective rainfall, R within the range of small watershed area, 84 to 470km2. consequently, linearity was acknowledged between rainfall and runoff. Reasonability is confirmed for the derivation of dimensionless unit hydrograph by linear model. 2.Through mathematical analysis, formula for the derivation of dimensionless unit hydrograph was derived. qp--p=(tp--t)n-1[e-(n-1)](tp--t-1) 3.Moment method was used for the evaluation of storage constant, K and shape parameter, n for the derivation of dimensionless unit hydrograph. Storage constant, K is more closely related with the such watershed characteristics as length of main stream and slopes. On the other hand, the shape parameter, n was derived with such watershed characteristics as watershed area, river length, centroid distance of the basin and slopes. 4.Time to peak discharge, Tp could be expressed as Tp=1. 25 (√s/L)0.76 having a high significance. 5.Dimensionless unit hydrographs by linear model stood more closely to the observe dimensionless unit hydrographs On the contrary, dimensionless unit hydrographs by S.C. S. method has much difference in comparison with linear model at the falling limb of hydrographs. 6.Relative errors in the q/qp at the point of 0.8 and 1.2 for the dimensionles ratio by linear model and S. C. S. method showed to be 2.41, 1.57 and 4.0, 3.19 percent respectively to the q/qp of observed dimensionless unit hydrographs. 7.Derivation of dimensionless unit hydrograph by linear model can be accomplished by linking the two empirical formulars for storage constant, K, and shape parameter, n with derivation formular for dimensionless unit hydrograph for the ungaged small watersheds.

  • The amount of information increases rapidly when working in a distributed environment where multiple collaborative partners work together on a complex product. Today's PDM (product data management) systems provide good capabilities regarding the management of product data within a single company. However, taking into account the variety of systems used at partner sites in an engineering environment one can easily imagine problems regarding the interoperability and the data consistency. This paper presents a concept to improve the workflow management using the parameters network. It shows a parameter driven engineering workflow that is able to manage engineering task across company boarders. We introduce a mechanism of workflow management based on the engineering parameters and an architecture of the distributed workspace to apply it within a PDM system. For a parameter mapping between CAD and PDM system we developed an XML-based CATIA data interface module using CAA.

  • 본 연구에서는 모래의 전단파괴 포락선의 곡률특성을 구명하고 전단강도와 Been과 Jefferies가 제시한 상태정수간의 매개변수관계를 밝히기 위하여 많은 압밀배수삼축시험의 결과를 분석하였다. 통상적인 삼축시험에서 시료의 단면적 변화와 멤브레인의 영향에 대한 수정은 특히 한계상태를 결정하는데 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 실험결과로부터 전단강도를 밀도와 응력수준의 함수로 표현하는 모델을 제시하였고 모래의 전단파괴포락선의 곡률특성과 상태정수와 전단강도정수간의 관계를 밝혔다.

  • This paper presents an adaptive control method based on parameter linearization for incompletely restrained wire-suspended mechanisms. The main purpose of this control method is utilizing it in a walking assist service robot for elderly people. This method is computationally simple and requires neither end-effector acceleration feedback nor inversion of estimated inertia matrix. In the proposed adaptive control law, mass, moment of inertia and external force and torque on the end-effector are considered as components of parameter adaptation vector. Nonlinear simulation for walking an elderly shows the effectiveness of the parameter adaptation law.

Approximate MLE for the Scale Parameter of the Weibull Distribution with Type-II Censoring

  • It is known that the maximum likelihood method does not provide explicit estimator for the scale parameter of the Weibull distribution based on Type-II censored samples. In this paper we provide an approximate maximum likelihood estimator (AMLE) of the scale parameter of the Weibull distribution with Type-II censoring. We obtain the asymptotic variance and simulate the values of the bias and the variance of this estimator based on 3000 Monte Carlo runs for n = 10(10)30 and r,s = 0(1)4. We also simulate the absolute biases of the MLE and the proposed AMLE for complete samples. It is found that the absolute bias of the AMLE is smaller than the absolute bias of the MLE.

GT를 이용한 Web 기반 절삭변수 검색시스템의 개발 (The Development of the Web Based Cutting Parameter Selection System Using Group Technology)

  • This study presents the web based cutting parameter selection system using Group Technology (GT). The GT is basically applied to classify and code the work material and cutting process which are main factors to affect cutting parameter selection. The proposed system has been designed to electronically select proper cutting conditions based on the stored GT database. The existing approaches used in most small and medium sized companies are basically to use manufacturing engineer's experience or to find the recommended values from the manufacturing engineers handbook. These processes are often time consuming and inconsistent, especially when a new engineer is involved. Consequently, the proposed system could automatically and consistently generate the proper cutting conditions (feed, depth of cut, and cutting speed) as soon as relatively simple data input is given thanks to the classified GT database.

Defect Shape Recovering by Parameter Estimation Arising in Eddy Current Testing

  • This paper is concerned with a computational method for recovering a crack shape of steam generator tubes of nuclear plants. Problems on the shape identification are discussed arising in the characterization of a structural defect in a conductor using data of eddy current inspection. A surface defect on the generator tube ran be detected as a probe impedance trajectory by scanning a pancake type coil. First, a mathematical model of the inspection process is derived from the Maxwell's equation. Second, the input and output relation is given by the approximate model by virtue of the hybrid use of the finite element and boundary element method. In that model, the crack shape is characterized by the unknown coefficients of the B-spline function which approximates the crack shape geometry. Finally, a parameter estimation technique is proposed for recovering the crack shape using data from the probe coil. The computational experiments were successfully tested with the laboratory data.

ROBUST CONTROLLER DESIGN FOR IMPROVING VEHICLE ROLL CONTROL

  • This paper presents a robust controller design approach for improving vehicle dynamic roll motion performance and guaranteeing the closed-loop system stability in spite of vehicle parameter variations resulting from aging elements, loading patterns, and driving conditions, etc. The designed controller is linear parameter-varying (LPV) in terms of the time-varying parameters; its control objective is to minimise the $H_{\infty}$ performance from the steering input to the roll angle while satisfying the closed-loop pole placement constraint such that the optimal dynamic roll motion performance is achieved and robust stability is guaranteed. The sufficient conditions for designing such a controller are given as a finite number of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical simulation using the three-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) yaw-roll vehicle model is presented. It shows that the designed controller can effectively improve the vehicle dynamic roll angle response during J-turn or fishhook maneuver when the vehicle's forward velocity and the roll stiffness are varied significantly.

경계 요소법과 평면파 이론을 이용한 흡기계 해석 (An Analysis of Intake System using BEM and 1-D Solution)

  • The application of the 4-pole parameter method with 1 - D theory is acceptable for intake system analysis. However, the limitaion appears during the analysis of complicated intake system since this method is developed based on the plane wave thoery. For the intake system analysis, the usage of BEM(Boundary Element Method) is introduced describing its disadvantage. To combine benefits of both method. a hybrid method is introduced. This hybrid method consists of the 4-pole parameter with I-D theory and BEM. The developed method is applied to an automobile intake system analysis to obtain the transmission loss.
