In order to investigate the diversity of bacterial community in the mud flat of Sunchon Bay, Chunnam province, diversity of amplified 16S rDNA was examined. Total DNA was extracted from sediment soils and 16S rDNAs were amplified using PCR primers based on the universally conserved sequences in bacteria. Clonal libraries were constructed and 111 clones were examined by amplified rDNA restriction analysis (ARDRA) using HaeIII. Clones were clustered based on restriction patterns using computer program, GelCompar II. One hundred different RFLP types were detected from 111 clones. The 20 clones were selected and sequenced according to dendrograms derived from ARDRA, to cover most of the bacterial diversity in the clone libraries. None of the clones were identical to any representatives in the Ribosomal Database Project small subunit RNA databases and GenBank. All sequences showed between 77 and 96.8% similarity to the known 16s rRNA sequence from cultured organisms. The 20 clones sequenced fell into seven major lineages of the domain Bacteria: alpha-, delta-, gamma-Proteobacteria, low G+C Gram positive bacteria, high G+C Gram positive bacteria, Sphingobacteria (Cytophaga) and Cyanobacteria (chloroplast). Among the clones, the Proteobacteria were dominant.

In this paper, we introduce and study the u-S-weak global dimension u-S-w.gl.dim(R) of a commutative ring R for some multiplicative subset S of R. Moreover, the u-S-weak global dimensions of factor rings and polynomial rings are investigated.

Impedance Spectroscopy (IS) has been used to study microstructure and hydration mechanism of cement pastes. In this work, the early hydration behaviour of portland cement paste with different blame values and contents of blast-furnace slag was investigated by IS. As slag was added to portland cement, the values of $R_{t(s+1)}$ (the solid-liquid phase resistance) and $R_{t(int)}$ were decreased in the early hydration period. It showed that hydration of cement paste containing slag was slower than it of the reference cement paste. As the content of slag was increased, the values of $R_{t(s+1)}$ was decreased. Furthermore, the diameter of semicircle, $R_{t(int)}$ observed at 72 hours was decreased with the increment of slag content. However, the values of $R_{t(s+1)}$ and $R_{t(int)}$ were increased with blame value of slag from the early hydration period.

A unique Schizosaccharomyces pombe $TrxR^+$ gene encoding thioredoxin reductase (TrxR) was found to be positively regulated by stress-inducing agents through the stress-responsive transcription factor Pap1. In the present study, the protective roles of S. pombe TrxR were evaluated using the TrxR-overexpressing recombinant plasmid pHSM10. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) and superoxide anion-generating menadione (MD), S. pombe TrxR increased cellular growth and the total glutathione (GSH) level, while it reduced levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). The nitric oxide (NO) levels of the TrxR-overexpressing cells, in the presence of $H_2O_2$ and MD, were maintained to be similar to those of the corresponding non-treated cells. Although S. pombe TrxR was able to scavenge NO generated by sodium nitroprusside (SNP), it had no significant modulating effects on cellular growth, ROS levels, or the total GSH level of SNP-exposed yeast cells, compared with the differences in those of the two non-treated cell cultures. TrxR increased the cellular growth and total GSH level, which were diminished by nitrogen starvation. It also scavenged ROS and NO produced during nitrogen starvation. Taken together, the S. pombe TrxR protects against oxidative, nitrosative, and nutritional stresses.

The deer was inseminated at the breeding season, which only shows appearance of the estrus cycles. Early diagnosis of pregnancy is very useful to select non-pregnant does and also very important to decide re-inseminations or mating for producing of calves. Therefore, for the development of techniques on the early diagnosis of pregnancy of deer, the results of this study were summarized as following. (omitted)

This study investigated the condensation heat transfer coefficients of R-22, R-290 and R-600a inside horizontal tube. Heat transfer measurements were peformed for smooth tube with outside diameter of 12.7 mm Condensation temperatures and mass velocity were ranged from 308 K to 323 K and $51kg/\textrm{m}^2s$s to $250kg/\textrm{m}^2s$, respectively. The test results showed that the local condensation heat transfer coefficients increased as the mass flux increased, and also the effects of mass velocity on heat transfer coefficients of R-290 and R-600a were less than R-22. Average condensation heat transfer coefficients of natural refrigerants were superior to that of R-22. The present results had a good agreement with Haraguchi's correlation.

Difference in the structure of AC PDP cells makes the cells have various discharge characteristics. Therefore, a ramp-reset must be adjusted for the stable driving of AC PDP. If any ramp-reset can reduce the difference in discharge characteristics between cells, the conditions of the address discharge could become almost the same. It is very important to understand these to design a good driving waveform. In this paper, we proved the mentioned facts with the change of barrier rib heights.

A total of 102 patients who had an Open Heart Surgery from April 1976 to July 1981 were reviewed. 55 paeitnts were congenital heart disease and 47 patients were acquired heart disease. Among SS patients of congenital heart disease, 18 T 0 F, 18 V S D, 8 A S D, and each one case of l\ulcorner 0 R V, Truncus arteriosus, Ebstein anomaly, Single ventricle, P D A, P 5, A S D + P 5, E C D, V 5 D + P D A, A - P window, D C R V were noted respectively. In 47 patients of acquired heart disease and one Ebstein patient, 46 prosthetic values were implanted: 17 had M V R, 4 had A V R, 2 had M V R + A V R, and 4 had M V R + T V R and one T V R. The operative mortality was 8.S% in acquired heart disease and 17% in congenital heart disease. The follow up period was between 6 months and 6 years. There were 3 cases of late mortality in acquired heart disease and one case in congenital heart disease.
