The measuring rule Is to extimate a size of a physical solid and its standard was each part of body since the beginning of the world. Korean traditional measuring rule was "Kyul Boo Sok Pa Bob". It bases on wreth of farm land and means a handful and a bundle. It was the real Korean traditional measuring rule though it was a influence on Chinese rule. And in Koguryo it had an effect on Japanese′s. In Chosun dynasty the King Sejong imprived the measuring rule and regylations in such a way to meet the realistic needs of civil lives. He put in good order by a proportions of the musical scale. It was one of fille correct ways to preserve the measuring rule and based on "Kyul Beo Sok Pa Bob"too. So ill that time the measuring rule for Korean traditional costume′s length was 46.703cm. In king Soonjo it′s length was 49.254cm and in 1926 it changed 50cm by the metric system. In 1990s the standard length has a difference in regions, 30cm, 45cm, 50cm, 54.5cm, 55cm and 60cm. As a result of the actual object investigation by regional measuring rule for Korean traditional costume it can reduce an accidental error when use the standard measuring rule, 50cm.
To enhance the rule-based reasoning capability of Semantic Web, the XRML (eXtensible Rule Markup Language) approach embraces the meta-information necessary for the extraction of explicit rules from Web pages and its maintenance. To effectuate the automatic identification of rules from unstructured texts, this research develops a framework of using rule ontology. The ontology can be acquired from a similar site first, and then can be used for multiple sites in the same domain. The procedure of ontology-based rule identification is regarded as a graph search problem with incomplete nodes, and an A* algorithm is devised to solve the problem. The procedure is demonstrated with the domain of shipping rates and return policy comparison portal, which needs rule based reasoning capability to answer the customer's inquiries. An example ontology is created from Amazon.com, and is applied to the many online retailers in the same domain. The experimental result shows a high performance of this approach.

This research develops dispatching rule for a wafer FABs with dedication constraints. Dedication, mostly considered in a photolithography step, is a feature in a modern FABs in order to increase the yield of machines and achieve the advance of manufacturing technology. However, the dedication has the critical problem because it causes dedication load of machines to unbalance. In this paper, we proposes the dedication load based dispatching rule for load balancing in order to resolve the problem. The objective of this paper is to balance dedication load of photo machines in wafer FABs with dedication constraint. Simulation experiments show that the proposed rule improves the performance of wafer FABs as well as load balance for dedication machines compared to open-loop control based conventional dispatching rule.
In current role-based systems, security officers handle assignments of users to roles. This may increase management efforts in a distributed environment because of the continuous involvement from security officers. The technology of role-based delegation provides a means for implementing RBAC in a distributed environment with empowerment of individual users. The basic idea behind a role-based delegation is that users themselves may delegate role authorities to other users to carry out some functions on behalf of the former. This paper presents a rule-based framework for user-level delegation model in which a user can delegate role authority by creating new delegation roles. Also, a rule-based language for specifying and enforcing the policies is introduced.

To minimize the spreading effect from the events of the system, a rule-based expert system is very effective. However, because the events of the large-scale system are diverse and the load condition is very variable, it is very difficult to construct the rule-based expert system. To solve this problem, this paper studies a methodology which constructs a rule-based expert system by applying a CART(Classification and Regression Trees) algorithm based decision tree determination method to event case examples.

A knowledge-based system with fuzzy production rules is a representation of static knowledge of an expert. On the other hand, a real system such as the stock market is dynamic in nature. Therefore we need a strategy to reflect the dynamic nature of real system when we make inferences with a knowledge-based system. This paper proposes a strategy of dynamic inferencing for a knowledge-based system with fuzzy production rules. The strategy suggested in this paper applies weights of attributes of conditions of a rule in the knowledge-base. A degree of match(DM) between actual input information and a condition of a rule is represented by a value [0,1]. Weights of relative importance of attributes in a rule are obtained by AHP(Analytic Hierarcy Process) method. Then these weights are applied as exponents for the DM, and the DMs in a rule are combined, with MIN operator, into a single DM for the rule. In this way, overall DM for a rule changes depending on the importance of attributes of the rule. As a result, the dynamic nature of a real system can be incorporated in an inference with fuzzy production rules.

In recent years, numerous studies have identified and explored issues related to web-service-oriented business process specifications, such as business process execution language (BPEL). In particular, business rules are an important cross-cutting concern that should be distinguished from business process instances. In this paper, we present a rule-based aspect oriented programming (AOP) framework where business rule aspects contained in business processes can be effectively separated and executed. This is achieved by using a mechanism of the business rule itself at the business rule engine instead of using existing programming language-based AOP technologies. Through some illustrative examples, this work also introduces a method by which business rule aspects, separated through an external rule engine, can be represented and evaluated. We also demonstrate how they can be dynamically woven and executed by providing an implementation example which uses two open-source-based products, the Mandarax rules engine and Bexee BPEL engine.

It is not easy to find a good production schedule which can be used in practice. Therefore, production scheduling simulation with a simple dispatching rule or a set of dispatching rules is used. However, a simple dispatching rule may not create a robust schedule, for the same rule is blindly applied to all internal production processes. The presumption is that there might be a specific combination of appropriate rules that can improve the efficiency of a total production system for a certain type of orders. In order to acquire a better set of dispatching rules, simulation is used to examine the performance of various combinations of dispatching rule sets. There are innumerable combination of rule sets. Hence it takes too much computer simulation time to find a robust set of dispatching rule for a specific production system. Therefore, we propose a concept of the knowledge based simulation to circumvent the problem. The knowledge based simulation consists of knowledge bases, an inference engine and a simulator. The knowledge base is made of rule sets that is extracted from both simulation and human intuition obtained by the simulation studies. For a certain type of orders, the proposed system provides several sets of dispatching rules that are expected to generate better results. Then the scheduler tries to find the best by simulating all proposed set of rules with the simulator. The knowledge-based simulator armed with the acquired knowledge has produced improved solutions in terms of time and scheduling performance.

Presented in the paper is a reservation based dispatching rule to achieve the on-time delivery in system LSI (large scale integrated circuit) semiconductor fabrication (FAB) with urgent orders. Using the proposed reservation based dispatching rule, urgent lots can be processed without waiting in a queue. It is possible to achieve the on-time delivery of urgent orders by reserving a proper tool for the next step in advance while urgent lots are being processed at the previous step. It can cause, however, tardiness of normal lots, because the proposed rule assign urgent lots first. To solve this problem, the proposed rule tries to find the best tool for the reservation in the tool group, which can minimize idle time, and the reservation rule is applied at all tools except for photolithography tools (bottleneck). $MOZART^{(R)}$ which is developed by VMS solutions are used for simulation experiments. The experimentation results show that the reservation based dispatching rule can achieve the on-time delivery of normal lots as well as urgent lots.
As knowledge becomes a critical success factor of companies nowadays, lots of rule-based systems have been and are being developed to support their activities. Large number of rule-based systems serve as Web sites to advise, or recommend their customers. They usually use a backward chaining inference algorithm based on backtrack to implement those interactive Web-enabled rule-based systems. However, when the users like customers are using these systems interactively, it happens frequently where the users do not know some of the answers for the questions from the rule-based systems. We are going to design a backward chaining inference methodology considering unknown facts based on backtrack technique. Firstly, we review exact and inexact reasoning. After that, we develop a backward chaining inference algorithm for exact reasoning based on backtrack, and then, extend the algorithm so that it can consider unknown facts and reduce its search space. The algorithm speeded-up inference and decreased interaction time with users by eliminating unnecessary questions and answers. We expect that the Web-enabled rule-based systems implemented by our methodology would improve users' satisfaction and make companies' competitiveness.
