Prior to 185 years ago, "Junghae-Jungraeeuigwe (丁亥整禮儀軌)" (1827), Joran (棗卵), Yulran (栗卵), and Gangran (薑卵) were called Samsaegran (三色卵). Nearly 144 years ago, "Mujin-Jinchaneuigwe (戊辰進饌儀軌)" (1868) recalled sulsilgwa (熟實果). "Imjin-Jinchaneuigwe (壬辰進饌儀軌)" (1892) first recalled assorted-sulsilgwa (各色熟實果), in which sansabyeong were added in the sulsilgwa. "Sinchuk-Jinyeoneuigwe (辛丑進宴儀軌)" (July 1901), "Imin-Jinchaneuigwe (壬寅進饌儀軌)" (April 1902), "Imin-Jinyeoneuigwe (壬寅進宴儀軌)" (November 1902) described assorted-sulsilgwa (各色熟實果) in which ohmijabyeong were added to the sulsilgwa. Further study will be conducted on recipes and ingredients recorded in these Euigwe and old books in order to develop a standardized recipe to make Suksilkwa appealing to a global palate.

  • The direction of this study lies in exploring a schematic proposal for a historical walk over an area called 'West Village' located inside the old city wall of Seoul. The case study area is comparable to the historic 'North Village,' including historical assets such as the Kyunghi Royal Palace and Sajik-dan. Moreover, it has spectacular scenic spots surrounding Mt. Inwang and Baegundong Stream, although this has now been paved over for use as a road. This village maintained its fame as a hub of art through the early 20th century. The comprehensive approach of this study ranges from the historical and cultural to the ecological and visual. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. A themed walk would commemorate the great leader of national independence, Baegbeom Kim Ku, as well as the famous Korean style realistic landscape painting school under the leadership of Kyumjae Jeong Seon, a great artist of the Josun Dynasty. In addition, a scenic streamside walk would accentuate the surrounding panoramic vistas which were drawn by Kyumjae, while at the same time allowing the ecological system of Baegundong Stream to be uncovered and restored.

  • Jeong Woo-tae(?-1809) was a military official who had worked as Byeol-Gan-Yeok in the governmental construction works during the late 18th century through the early 19th century. Byel-Gan-Yeok, literally a special technician, was an official post in the governmental construction works that carries specific technical tasks from the mid 18th century. Over 30 years, Jeong Woo-tae had devoted himself in the construction of various royal tombs, city walls, and palace buildings. He showed superb and various techniques in the works of stone carving and architectural details. After finishing the construction of the tomb of King Jeong-jo's father successfully, he was appointed as a governor of a rural town. Being on duty of the governor, he used to participate in the construction works as a technician. He also made a couple of innovative devices in the field of construction, like a carrying apparatus, Byel-Nok-No. His works secured the setting up of the post of Byel-Gan-Yeok in the governmental construction system in the 19th century. But his technical achievement remained as his own private works rather than developing to the universal growth of the craftsmen's skill. This might be a limitation of the Byel-gan-Yeok's role, whose position was remained in the midway between official and craftsman.

And Sangwa(常瓦, the ordinary size roof-tile) was used when needed. Also, Jungwa(中瓦, the middle size roof-tile) was used regardless of the size of group building. And Sowa(小瓦, the small size roof-tile) was used in house and wall of royal tomb. Third, it is needed to establish a specification of traditional handmade roof-tile based on the specification of watong through research of the litterateur. • With the beginning of seventeenth century, the men in France royal palace began to wear wigs and by eighteenth century wig became sole possession of men. Then, it had been become a satire thing filling one side of the era with the pouf that had been for women. All these things were closely related with the unstable social situation. The bourgeoisie expressed the anger for the privilege that come from the disparity of class consciousness. The reaction against the discriminative treatment by the illuminists stimulated the outbreak of the French Revolution on 14th, July in 1789. This paved way of characterizing the wig styles of the time. The symbolism of cultural-historical meaning in the west is not confined only in Europe. The worship of hair that is different from one cultural area to another had started with their own unique taboo consciousness and had developed to the form speaking for the expression of masculine, the symbol of man power and the extravagance of the privileged class.
