This study shows how the growth of the top part of plants cultivated using the single-row strawberry method, with 12 cm plant spacing, as well as that of plants cultivated through conventional planting, is characterized by the presence of many leaves in the first flower cluster harvest. The leaf area and crown diameter were the largest in the 12 cm spacing method. The hight top fresh weight (59.2 g) was detected wen the 12 cm spacing method was used followed by conventional planting and, 9 cm and 6 cm spacing method. The K and Ca contents in the first flower cluster were the highest when the 12 cm spacing method (2.0% and 2.1%, respectively) and conventional planting, (0.42% and 0.86%, respectively) were used, and these values were significantly higher than the K and Ca contents obtained using the other two methods. The N, P, Mg, Fe, and B contents show no significant differences across the planting methods. The sugar content of the first flower cluster fruits was the highest when the 12 cm spacing method was used, while the sugar content of the fourth flower cluster fruits was highest after conventional planting. Firmness was the highest in the first, third, and fourth flower clusters after conventional planting, while no significant differences were observed for the 6 cm, 9 cm, and 12 cm spacing methods. A yield of 25 g or above during November to December was observed to be the highest when the 12 cm spacing method was used, while a yield of 10-16 g was the highest when both the 9 cm and 12 cm spacing methods werw used. The yield of products in January-April was the highest when the 12 cm spacing and conventional planting methods were used, and total product yield was also the highest for these methods. A significant portion of non-marketable products (39 g) was obtained when the conventional planting method was used.
This study examined consumers' awareness of apartment brands and the purchase intention of apartments with brand names. This study compared apartment brand awareness with purchase intention in terms of consumers' socio-economic and housing characteristics. Also, it identified the factors that influence consumers' awareness and purchase intention of apartment brands. The data were obtained via a questionnaire completed by adults 20 years of age and olde. (N=383), and were analyzed by t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square tests, multiple regression, and logistic regression analyses. The findings of this study are as follows: First, both consumers' awareness and purchase intention of apartment brands were higher among married males in their 30s and 40s than among unmarried females in their 20s and 50s. For consumers who had graduated from graduate schools, both awareness and purchase intention of apartment brands were lower than other groups. Second, consumers dwelling in apartments or row houses showed higher awareness of apartment brands. And those who lived in row houses were more likely to consider purchasing apartments with brand names. Third, every factor of consumers' housing values was higher than the middle point of the scale. Especially, economic and social values of housing were important factors for both awareness and purchasing intention of apartment brands. Fourth, the apartment brand awareness had a positive effect on the purchase intention of the apartments with their own brands.

By investigating the characteristics of various factors about soil and pile containing in the theoretical equations of lateral earth pressures acting on a row of passive piles which have been already presented in the previous. papers, the equations are arranged as a simple form which is convenient to use. The simplified equation is examined so as to be also utilized to single passive pile. And a discussion is carried out on the method how to apply the equations to field. As the result of this study, the equations can be arranged as a simple linear equation with the coefficients of lateral force $K_{p1}$ and $K_{p2}$. And the simple linear equation is composed of cohesion c and earth pressures ${\sigma}_H$ acting on backside of pile's row against the direction of soil deformation. In order to apply this equation to field, the active earth pressure can be considered as the earth pressure ${\sigma}_H$. The validity of this consideration is justified by comparing the theoretical values of lateral earth pressures acting on piles with the values observed in field.

As multimedia portable devices become popular, the amount of computation for processing data including video compression has significantly increased. Various researches for low power consumption of the mobile devices and real time processing have been reported. Motion Estimation is responsible for 67% of H.264 encoder complexity. In this research, a new circuit is designed for motion estimation. The new circuit uses motion prediction based on approximate SAD, Alternative Row Scan (ARS), DAU, and FDVS algorithms. Our new method can reduce the amount of computation by 75% when compared to multi-frame motion estimation suggested in JM8.2. Furthermore, optimal number and size of reference frame blocks are determined to reduce computation without affecting the PSNR. The proposed Motion Estimation method has been verified by using the hardware and software Co-Simulation with iPROVE. It can process 30 CIF frames/sec at 50MHz.

Density functional theory was utilized to investigate the growth of an indium nanowire on a Si (001) buckled surface. A site between the edge of two Si dimers is most favorable when the first In atom is adsorbed on the surface at an adsorption energy level of 2.26 eV. The energy barriers for migration from other sites to the most favorable site are low. When the second In atom is adsorbed next to the first In atom to form an In dimer perpendicular to the Si dimer row, the adsorption energy is the highest among all adsorption sites. The third In atom prefers either of the sites next to the In dimer along the In dimer direction. The fourth In atom exhibited the same tendency showed by the second atom. The second and fourth In adsorption energy levels are higher than the first and third levels as the In atoms consume the third valence electron by forming In dimers. Therefore, the In nanowire grows perpendicular to the Si dimer row on the Si (001) surface, as it satisfies the bonding of the three valence electrons of the In atoms.

A high-performance low-complexity decoding algorithm for LDPC codes is proposed in this paper, which has the advantages of both bit-flipping (BF) algorithm and sum-product algorithm (SPA). The proposed soft bit-flipping algorithm requires only simple comparison and addition operations for computing the messages between bit and check nodes, and the amount of those operations is also small. By increasing the utilization ratio of the computed messages and by adopting nonuniform quantization, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gap to the SPA is reduced to 0.4dB at the frame error rate of 10-4 with only 5-bit assignment for quantization. LDPC codes with high column or row weights, which are not suitable for the SPA decoding due to the complexity, can be practically implemented without much worsening the error performance.

Purpose: Conventional headland turning typically requires repeated forward and backward movements to move the farming equipment to the next row. This research focuses on developing an upland agricultural robot with an optimized headland turning mechanism that enables a $180^{\circ}$ turning positioning to the next row in one steering motion designed for a two-wheel steering, four-wheel drive agricultural robot named the HADA-bot. The proposed steering mechanism allows for faster turnings at each headland compared to those of the conventional steering system. Methods: The HADA-bot was designed with 1.7-m wide wheel tracks to travel along the furrows of a garlic bed, and a look-ahead path following algorithm was applied using a real-time kinematic global positioning system signal. Pivot turning tests focused primarily on accuracy regarding the turning radius for the next path matching, saving headland turning time, area, and effort. Results: Several test cases were performed by evaluating right and left turns on two different surfaces: concrete and soil, at three speeds: 1, 2, and 3 km/h. From the left and right side pivot turning results, the percentage of lateral deviation is within the acceptable range of 10% even on the soil surface. This U-turn scheme reduces 67% and 54% of the headland turning time, and 36% and 32% of the required headland area compared to a 50 hp tractor (ISEKI, TA5240, Ehime, Japan) and a riding-type cultivator (CFM-1200, Asia Technology, Deagu, Rep. Korea), respectively. Conclusion: The pivot turning trajectory on both soil and concrete surfaces achieved similar results within the typical operating speed range. Overall, these results prove that the pivot turning mechanism is suitable for improving conventional headland turning by reducing both turning radius and turning time.
This study establishes a numerical analysis model of the finite element overhung rotor supported by a DTRB and describes the stiffness properties of the DTRB. The vibration characteristics and contact pressure of the RBR system are predicted according to the DTRB support characteristics such as the initial axial compression and roller profile. The stiffness of the DTRB significantly varies depending on the initial axial compression and external load owing to the occurrence of rollers under the no-load condition and increase in the Hertz contact force. The increase in the initial axial compression increases the rigidity of the DTRB, thereby reducing the displacement of the RBR system and simultaneously increasing the natural frequency. However, above a certain initial axial compression, the effect becomes insignificant, and an excessive increase in the initial axial compression increases the contact pressure. The roller crowning radius, which gives a curvature in the longitudinal direction of the roller, decreases the displacement of the RBR system and increases the natural frequency as the value increases. However, an increase in the crowning radius increases the edge stress, causing a negative effect in terms of the contact pressure. These results show that the DTRB support characteristics required for reducing the vibration and contact pressure of the RBR system supported by the DTRB can be designed.
Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to investigate if the relative legibility of optotypes affects the corrected visual acuity in visual acuity test. Methods: After measuring the relative legibility of 'Landolt ring target', 'arabic number target', 'alphabet target' by showing as a single-letter-target in 24 subjects without specific ocular diseases and ocular surgery experience, the relative legibility of 0.8, 1.0, 1.25 row of vision according to type of target in 7 types of chart were compared. After then we compared by measuring the corrected visual acuity according to type of target by using binocular MPMVA test (#7A) in 60 myopic subjects. Results: In 3 types of target the worst relative legibility target was 'Landolt ring target' with legible distance of $98.97{\pm}4.57cm$ and the best relative legibility target was 'alphabet target' with legible distance of $108.42{\pm}3.46cm$. There was no difference of the relative legibility according to type of chart or visual acuity level in the row of vision if other conditions are the same. In 1.0 and 1.25 row of vision the difference of relative legibility according to type of target was shown the statistically significant difference between 'Landolt ring target' and 'alphabet target' as $-0.07{\pm}0.06$ (p=0.02) and $-0.06{\pm}0.06$ (p=0.04) respectively. In myopia the difference of corrected visual acuity according to type of target was statistically significant difference between 'Landolt ring target' and 'arabic number target' as $-0.04{\pm}0.02$ (p=0.02) and it was especially remarkable in the low myopia. Conclusions: Measuring visual acuity with different optotypes could cause the errors in best vision measurement value because there was difference of the relative legibility according to type of target even though visual acuity level is same in the row of vision.
This study was carried out to define the variations of important quantitative characters and correlations among them accoding to the planted location under the shadow by planting density. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Growth of leaf and stem of 6 rows and 8 rows planting plots was decreased at front and back rows, but that of root was increased at front row and also decreased at back row. However, at 4 rows planting plots, front row was better for the growth of leaf, stem and root. 2. Average root weight of 6 rows planting plot was 34.29g but that of 8 rows planting plot was ]8.20 g. And total weight of root per unit area was increased and quality of ginseng was better in 6 rows planting plot compaired with 8 rows. 3. Variation by planting locations under the shadow was smallest in stem diameter and highest in root length at 8 row planting plot, but at 6 rows planting plot, that was smallest in leaf blade and greatest in stem length. However, in 4 rows plant ing plot, variation of leaf length was smallest and that of root weight biggest. 4. In all Planting densities, root weight was significantly correlated with root diameter and high correlation was recognized between root diameter and stem diameter. 5. Rate of variations of all characters among plant individuals was different by planting location and that of correlations between quantitative Characters too.
