Regional Path Re-selection Period Determination Method for the Energy Efficient Network Management in Sensor Networks applied SEF (통계적 여과 기법이 적용된 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율적인 네트워크 관리를 위한 영역별 경로 재설정 주기 결정 기법)

  • A large-scale sensor network usually operates in open and unattended environments, hence individual sensor node is vulnerable to various attacks. Therefore, malicious attackers can physically capture sensor nodes and inject false reports into the network easily through compromised nodes. These false reports are forwarded to the base station. The false report injection attack causes not only false alarms, but also the depletion of the restricted energy resources in a battery powered network. The statistical en-route filtering (SEF) mechanism was proposed to detect and drop false reports en route. In SEF, the choice of routing paths largely affect the energy consumption rate and the detecting power of the false report. To sustain the secure routing path, when and how to execute the path re-selection is greatly need by reason of the frequent network topology change and the nodes's limitations. In this paper, the regional path re-selection period determination method is proposed for efficient usage of the limited energy resource. A fuzzy logic system is exploited in order to dynamically determine the path re-selection period and compose the routing path. The simulation results show that up to 50% of the energy is saved by applying the proposed method.

Analysis of Preference for UAM of Public Transportation Users Following UAM Adoption (Incheon Airport - Incheon Gil Medical Center Line) (도심항공교통(UAM) 도입에 따른 대중교통 이용자들의 UAM에 대한 선호도 분석 (인천공항-인천길병원 노선사례))

  • In this study, in order to analyze the preference for UAM of public transportation users following the introduction of urban air transportation(UAM), A preference consciousness(SP) survey was conducted on 840 users of Incheon public transportation using the Incheon International Airport-Incheon Gil Hospital route, which is the urban air traffic(UAM) demonstration route section. In addition, the means selection model was estimated based on the results of conducting a preference consciousness (SP) survey. As a result of analyzing the time value for travel using the established means selection model, it was found to be 56,428 won/hour, As a result of verifying the elasticity of travel cost (won), in-vehicle time (minutes), and out-of-vehicle time (minutes) in the model, the effect on the urban air traffic (UAM) share in this model was found that travel cost (won), in-vehicle time (minutes), and out-of-vehicle time (minutes) were in order, and the effect was greater when the travel cost (won) decreased than when it increased.

Estimation and Application of the Value of Travel Time by Time Period: A Case Study of Downtown Highway Expansion Project (시간대별 통행시간가치 추정 및 적용: 도심부 도로 확장 사업 사례연구를 중심으로)

  • The travel time value is important factor for the evaluation of feasibility the transportation facility investment. The existing method for calculation of the travel time for each mode uses daily average trip purpose. So the value of travel time is constant because it is estimated with only daily average proportion. This daily constant time value can distort the results of future demands of toll roads or economic appraisals for the projects. The proportion of the trip purpose varies by time periods. Accordingly the value of travel time also varies by time periods. In this study, times periods are classified as morning peak, evening peak, business time off-peak, and non-business time off-peak. And trip purpose proportions are sorted by each time period from raw data of Seoul household trip study, then the value of travel time for each time period is estimated with these sorted purpose proportions. A case study of Seoul Jung-gu and Yongsan-gu performed with newly estimated time value by time periods. The result of benefit calculation with the daily constant time value is overestimated approximately annual 2.5 billion Won compared by time values by time periods. The demands of toll roads are also overestimated with the existing daily constant time value by daily 3,500 vehicles and total revenue of toll roads are overestimated by annually 1 billion Won. In conclusion, the value of travel time by each time period enables the more precise economic evaluation of the transportation facility investment projects, mode choice behavior, and route choice behavior especially for toll roads.

  • Ad hoc sensor network is characterized by decentralized structure and ad hoc deployment. Sensor networks have all basic features of ad hoc network except different degrees such as lower mobility and more stringent energy requirements. Existing protocols provide different tradeoffs among some desirable characteristics such as fault tolerance, distributed computation, robustness, scalability and reliability. wireless protocols suggested so far are very limited, generally focusing on communication to a single base station or on aggregating sensor data. The main reason having such restrictions is due to maximum lifetime to maintain network activities. The network lifetime is an important design metric in ad hoc networks. Since every node does a router role, it is not possible for other nodes to communicate with each other if some nodes do not work due to energy lack. In this paper, we suggest an experimental ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing protocol to optimize the communication of energy of the network nodes.The load distribution avoids the choice of exhausted nodes at the route selection phase, thus balances the use of energy among nodes and maximizing the network lifetime. In transmission control phase, there is a balance between the choice of a high transmission power that lead to increase in the range of signal transmission thus reducing the number of hops and lower power levels that reduces the interference on the expense of network connectivity.

  • Traffic jam densified day by day is phenomenon to occur lack of the road capacity in comparison with traffic density, but lack of the road cannot be concluded by main cause of traffic ism. Because the central function of a city would be concentrated upon the downtown and traffic demand would not be evenly distributed by the classification of an hour. Therefore, this study based on the fact that each driver will select the route generating traffic delay very low when path choice from origin to destination in travel plan estimating the quality of passage could be maintained the speed he want will approach to a characteristic grasp of a road, traffic, driver changing every moment by traffic-demand of road increased as a geometrical series with analysis a classification of a street, a intersection along the path on traffic density and highway capacity analysis the path using GIS techniques about complex street network, also will get the path of actual optimum for traffic delay trend creating under various condition the classification per a hour, a day of week and an incident through network such as analysis for traffic generation zone adjacent about street, intersection, afterward will expect the result increasing efficiency of the road-use through a good distribution of traffic by optimum-path choice, accordingly will prepare the scientific, objective, appropriate basis to decide the reasonable time of a road-widen and expansion through section analysis along a rate of traffic volume vs. road capacity.

Dynamic traffic assignment based on arrival time-based OD flows (도착시간 기준 기종점표를 이용한 동적통행배정)

  • A dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) has recently been implemented in many practical projects. The core of dynamic model is the inclusion of time scale. If excluding the time dimension from a DTA model, the framework of a DTA model is similar to that of static model. Similar to static model, with given exogenous travel demand, a DTA model loads vehicles on the network and finds an optimal solution satisfying a pre-defined route choice rule. In most DTA models, the departure pattern of given travel demand is predefined and assumed as a fixed pattern, although the departure pattern of driver is changeable depending on a network traffic condition. Especially, for morning peak commute where most drivers have their preferred arrival time, the departure time, therefore, should be modeled as an endogenous variable. In this paper, the authors point out some shortcomings of current DTA model and propose an alternative approach which could overcome the shortcomings of current DTA model. The authors substitute a traditional definition for time-dependent OD table by a new definition in which the time-dependent OD table is defined as arrival time-based one. In addition, the authors develop a new DTA model which is capable of finding an equilibrium departure pattern without the use of schedule delay functions. Three types of objective function for a new DTA framework are proposed, and the solution algorithms for the three objective functions are also explained.

A Study on the Choice of Proper Region for Moving Cage Culture Facilities (이동식 가두리 양식장의 이동적지 선정에 관한 연구)

  • A Study on the choice of proper region for moving cage culture facilities were carried out in the South Sea of Korea. Optimum temperatures of habitats for cage culture fishes, Sebastes schlegeli, Paralichthys olivaceus, Seriola quinqueradiata, Lateolabrax japonicus, Pagrus major, Takifugu vermicularis, and Mugil cephalus were 18~26$^{\circ}C$, 10~$25^{\circ}C$, 15~29$^{\circ}C$, 15~29$^{\circ}C$, 15~3$0^{\circ}C$, 15~$25^{\circ}C$, and 19~27$^{\circ}C$, respectively. In winter, wintering regions for continuous growth of fishes were proper around Komundo, Sorido, Soimal, Gadukdo and Chejudo for Paralichthys olivaceus and Lateolabrax japonicus, while Seoguipo and Udo for Seriola quinqueradiata, Pagrus major and Takifugu vermicularis. Sanji was not proper for wintering region because variation of water temperature is large by effect of strong northwestern wind. Wintering regions of Sebastes schlegeli and Mugil cephalus were not in the south of Korea. In summer, proper regions for fishes to avoid from damage by red tide were Komundo and around Chejudo. No red tide has occurred in these regions for 6 years. Mokpo and Yoja Bay were not proper for moving region because the former had strong tides and the latter had only one exit out of the bay which made it impossible to move cages in other route when dangerous red tides burst into.

A Model and Algorithm for Optimizing the Location of Transit Transfer Centers (대중교통 환승센터 입지선정 모형 연구)

  • This paper deals with the passenger transfer trips counted from smart bus-card data from Seoul transit network to understand the current operational condition of the system. Objective of this study is to relocate the location of the transit transfer centers. It delivers a bi-level programing model. The upper model is a linear 0-1 binary integer program having the objective of total travel cost minimization constrained by the number of transfer centers and the total construction budget. The lower model is an user equilibrium assignment model determining the passengers' route choice according to the transfer center locations. The proposed bi-level programming model was tested in an example network. The result showed that the proposed was able to find the optimal solution.

Optimal Design of Fuzzy-Neural Networkd Structure Using HCM and Hybrid Identification Algorithm (HCM과 하이브리드 동정 알고리즘을 이용한 퍼지-뉴럴 네트워크 구조의 최적 설계)

  • This paper suggests an optimal identification method for complex and nonlinear system modeling that is based on Fuzzy-Neural Networks(FNN). The proposed Hybrid Identification Algorithm is based on Yamakawa's FNN and uses the simplified inference as fuzzy inference method and Error Back Propagation Algorithm as learning rule. In this paper, the FNN modeling implements parameter identification using HCM algorithm and hybrid structure combined with two types of optimization theories for nonlinear systems. We use a HCM(Hard C-Means) clustering algorithm to find initial apexes of membership function. The parameters such as apexes of membership functions, learning rates, and momentum coefficients are adjusted using hybrid algorithm. The proposed hybrid identification algorithm is carried out using both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. Also, an aggregated objective function(performance index) with weighting factor is introduced to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. According to the selection and adjustment of a weighting factor of an aggregate objective function which depends on the number of data and a certain degree of nonlinearity(distribution of I/O data), we show that it is available and effective to design an optimal FNN model structure with mutual balance and dependency between approximation and generalization abilities. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the time series data for gas furnace, the data of sewage treatment process and traffic route choice process.
