This study was performed to evaluate the influences of the passive glenohumeral rotation on the scapulothoracic motion. We took anteroposterior radiograms of the right shoulders including the thoracic vertebrae with supine position in 10 normal male adults, at 0 degree abduction, 45 degrees abduction and 90 degrees abduction in scapular plane and in neutral rotation, maximal internal rotation and maximal external rotation in each abduction view. The scapulothoracic motion was measured as the distances between the vertical line drawn from the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra and the inferior and superior angles of the right scapula respectively. At 0 degree abduction, the distances were not changed in internal rotation relative to neutral rotation, but decreased significantly in external rotation, that is, the scapula shifts medially on external rotation. At 45 degrees abduction, the distances were increased significantly only in internal rotation, that is, the scapula shifts laterally on internal rotation. At 90 degrees abduction, the scapula rotated laterally on internal rotation and medially on external rotation. In conclusion, when a physician examines the rotation of the shoulder joint, he cannot exclude the scapulothoracic motion just by examining the patient with supine position. And we concluded that the rotatory movement of the shoulder is not solely contributed to the glenohumeral motion.

This paper deals with the flexural free vibrations of circular strip foundation with the variable breadth on Pasternak soil. The breadth of strip varies with the linear functional fashion, which is symmetric about the mid-arc. Differential equations governing flexural free vibrations of such strip foundation are derived, in which the elastic soil with the shear layer, i.e. Pasternak soil, is considered. Effects of the rotatory and shear deformation are included in the governing equations. Differential equations are numerically solved to calculate the natural frequencies and mode shapes. In the numerical examples, the hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped end constraints are considered. Four lowest frequency parameters accompanied with their corresponding mode shapes are reported and parametric studies between frequency parameters and various system parameters are investigated.
The paper describes the vibration and stability of tapered beams on two-parameter elastic foundations. The two-parameter elastic foundations are constructed by distributed Winkler springs and a shearing layer as of ten used in soil models. The shear deformation and the rotatory inertia of a beam are taken into account. Governing equations are derived from energy expressions using Hamilton\`s principle. The associated eigenvalue problems are solved to obtain the free vibration frequencies or the buckling loads. Numerical results for the vibration of a beam with an axial force are presented and compared when other solutions are available. Vibration frequencies, mode shapes, and critical forces of a tapered Timoshenko beam on elastic foundations under an axial force are investigated for various thickness ratios, shear foundation parameters, Winkler foundation parameters and boundary conditions.

The nature of the interactions between the vestibular and autonomic systems is complex and has not been fully defined. Vestibuloocular reflex induced by sinusoidal rotation and activity of the autonomic nerves in the heart were measured to investigate the interactions between the vestibular system and the autonomic nervous system in healthy adults. Eye movement induced by sinusoidal rotation of the whole body or optokinetic stimulation at 0.04 Hz was analyzed in gain, phase, and symmetry. EKG was measured during vestibular stimulation and analyzed in heart rate variability including mean R-R interval, standard deviation (SD) and coefficient of variance (CV) of R-R interval, and power spectrum of low frequency region (LF) and high frequency region (HF). Gain of eye movement was 0.65${\pm}$0.03 by ratatory stimulation, 0.70${\pm}$0.02 in optokinetic stimulation, 0.08${\pm}$0.02 in visual suppression, and 0.84${\pm}$0.04 in visual enhancement. In R-R interval, resting condition (control) was 0.82${\pm}$0.03 sec, and visual suppression showed significant increase and visual enhancement did significant decrease compared with control (p<0.01).CV was 0.06${\pm}$0.02 in control and visual enhancement increased significantly (p<0.05). In LF/HF control was 1.40${\pm}$0.23, which was not different from rotatory or optokinetic stimulation. But visual suppression decreased LF/HF significantly and visual enhancement increased significantly compared with control (p<0.01). These results suggest that degree of gain corresponds with LF/HF and increased gain in visual enhancement is deeply related to the activity of sympathetic nerves.
The purpose of this study, during the lifting task was researching the difference and a relationship between the ground reaction force and the grip strength by change of position. After grip strength has measured in symmetry position and asymmetry position at 45cm and 75cm of height of hand, ground reaction force was measured by same attitude lifting wooden box. We analyzed the difference of grip strength and ground reaction force in each position change. The results of grip strength, the grip strength of both hand were significant difference that in study subject symmetry and asymmetry position (p<0.01). The results of symmetry lifting task, the study subjects was significant difference of the ground reaction force difference by height (p<0.05). Asymmetry lifting task was significant difference of ground reaction force difference by direction of rotation was changed (p<0.01). The result of it will rotate with non-dominant hand side of lifting tasks from height 75cm where it easily maintains a balance possibility and decreasing the load of the hand. Therefore, from the workshop in the work people, it will be between the height 75cm and non-dominant hand side of trunk rotatory direction in the lifting tasks. Future study is necessary researched about the change of grip strength when the height of the hand is higher, and the difference of the ground reaction force when the change of weight.

This paper deals with the free vibrations of horizontally curved members resting on elastic foundations with continuity effect. Taking into account the effects of rotatory inertia and shear deformation, differential equations governing the free vibrations of such beams are derived, in which the Pasternak foundation model is considered as the elastic foundation with continuity effect. The differential equations are solved numerically to calculate natural frequencies and mode shapes. The experiments were performed in which the natural frequencies of such curved beams in laboratorial scale were measured and these results agree quite well with the present numerical studies. In numerical examples, the circular, parabolic, sinusoidal and elliptic curved members with the hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped end constraints are considered. The parametric studies are conducted and the lowest four frequency parameters are reported in tables and figures as the non-dimensional forms. Also the typical mode shapes are presented.
The literature regarding the free vibration analysis of Bernoulli-Euler and Timoshenko beams on elastic soil is plenty, but the free vibration analysis of Reddy-Bickford beams on elastic soil with/without axial force effect using the Differential Transform Method (DTM) has not been investigated by any of the studies in open literature so far. In this study, the free vibration analysis of axially loaded Reddy-Bickford beam on elastic soil is carried out by using DTM. The model has six degrees of freedom at the two ends, one transverse displacement and two rotations, and the end forces are a shear force and two end moments in this study. The governing differential equations of motion of the rectangular beam in free vibration are derived using Hamilton's principle and considering rotatory inertia. Parameters for the relative stiffness, stiffness ratio and nondimensionalized multiplication factor for the axial compressive force are incorporated into the equations of motion in order to investigate their effects on the natural frequencies. At first, the terms are found directly from the analytical solutions of the differential equations that describe the deformations of the cross-section according to the high-order theory. After the analytical solution, an efficient and easy mathematical technique called DTM is used to solve the governing differential equations of the motion. The calculated natural frequencies of one end fixed and the other end simply supported Reddy-Bickford beam on elastic soil using DTM are tabulated in several tables and figures and are compared with the results of the analytical solution where a very good agreement is observed and the mode shapes are presented in graphs.

The Senior-Loken syndrome was first described in 1961 as an oculo-renal disease consisting of familial juvenile nephronophthisis and Leber congenital amaurosis. It is a rare autosomal recessive disorder with a prevalence of 1:1,000,000 caused by mutations in nine genes (NPHP 1-8 and NPHP 10). Ocular manifestations (e.g., photophobia, nystagmus, and extreme hyperopia) occur within the first few years of life while renal manifestations (e.g., formation of multiple cysts impairing kidney function and end-stage renal disease) appear in late childhood to adolescence. Here, we report a case of a Filipino male presenting with rotatory nystagmus and progressive deterioration of vision since childhood. He had congenital amaurosis and juvenile nephronophthisis that progressed to end stage renal disease by age 19. All laboratory and imaging findings were consistent with chronic kidney disease. Molecular genetic testing of ciliopathy-related genes was performed revealing a homozygous mutation in exon 11 of the IQCB1/NPHP5 gene, c.1090C>T (p.Arg364⁎). This sequence change created a premature translational stop signal resulting in a truncated protein product, nephrocystin-5 and its consequent loss of function. His symptoms eventually improved with initiation dialysis. The prognosis of Senior-Loken syndrome remains dismal and a high index of suspicion, early diagnosis and timely intervention of renal complications are warranted.

In previous paper Pseudomonas sp. Ks-96 isolated from the bioconversion into pyrogallol from gallic acid . Continuous bioconversion of pyrogallol was carried out using rotatory disc contactor immobilized Pseudomonas sp. Ks-96 . Enzyme activity of gallate decarboxylase released from Pseudomonas sp. Ks-96 were shown at the highest activity on 24h incubation. Culture media containing gallic acid supplied on the flow rate of 20m${\ell}$/h until thickness of cells wall reached steady state. Bioconversion rate of pyrogallol from gallic acid showed at highest level ranging from 18hr to 36h according to time courses. Continuous bioconversion of pyrogallol using rotating disc contactor was about 82% and 80% between 6 and 8 days at the feeding rate of 300m${\ell}$ per hour in the medium containing 15g/${\ell}$ gallic acid.

Biomechanical preparation of root canals with accentuated curvature is challenging. New rotatory systems, such as Reciproc, require a shorter period of time to prepare curved canals, and became a viable alternative for endodontic treatment of teeth with root dilaceration. Thus, this study aimed to report a clinical case of endodontic therapy of root with accentuated dilaceration using Reciproc single-file system. Mandibular right second molar was diagnosed as asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis. Pulp chamber access was performed, and glide path was created with #10 K-file (Dentsply Maillefer) and PathFile #13, #16 and #19 (Dentsply Maillefer) up to the temporary working length. The working length measured corresponded to 20 mm in the mesio-buccal and mesio-lingual canals, and 22 mm in the distal canal. The R25 file (VDW GmbH) was used in all the canals for instrumentation and final preparation, followed by filling with Reciproc gutta-percha cones (VDW GmbH) and AH Plus sealer (Dentsply Maillefer), using thermal compaction technique. The case has been receiving follow-up for 6 mon and no painful symptomatology or periapical lesions have been found. Despite the difficulties, the treatment could be performed in a shorter period of time than the conventional methods.
