This study conducted RIII reflex measurement to examine degree of pain depending on polarity of high voltage pulsed current of primary and secondary hyperalgesia site in hyperalgesia rat by local thermal injury. Hind paw which was injury site was taken as primary hyperalgeisa site, sole which was injury adjacent site was taken as secondary hyperalgesia site, and mechanical pain threshold, thermal pain threshold and root mean square of RIII reflex were measured. This study was conducted with control group I of hyperalgesia rat at hind paw by thermal injury and experimental groups divided into cathodal high voltage treatment group II, anodal high voltage treatment group III and alternate high voltage treatment group IV, applied active electrode of high voltage pulsed current to hind paw directly, placed reference electrode on the sole of injury adjacent site and applied pulse frequency. It measured RIII reflex and obtained the following results: Root mean square of RIII reflex at primary hyperalgeisa site was significantly reduced in group II after 2 days of hyperalgesia. Group II showed significant decrease after 5 and 6 days of hyperalgesia. Root mean square of RIII reflex at secondary hyperalgesia site showed significant reduction in group II after 6 days of hyperalgesia. Consequently it was found that application of high voltage pulsed current of hyperalgesia site reduced RIII reflex at primary hyperalgeisa site and secondary hyperalgesia site by electrical stimuli. Effects by polarity of high voltage pulsed current showed the greatest reduction of pain threshold when cathodal active electrode was used.

In the last years, fault problem in power electronics has been more and more investigated both from theoretical and practical point of view. The fault problem can cause equipment failure, data and economical losses. And the analyze system require to ensure fault problem and also rectify failures. The current errors on these faults are applied for identified type of faults. This paper presents technique to detection and identification faults in three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) by using time-frequency distribution (TFD). TFD capable represent time frequency representation (TFR) in temporal and spectral information. Based on TFR, signal parameters are calculated such as instantaneous average current, instantaneous root mean square current, instantaneous fundamental root mean square current and, instantaneous total current waveform distortion. From on results, the detection of VSI faults could be determined based on characteristic of parameter estimation. And also concluded that the fault detection is capable of identifying the type of inverter fault and can reduce cost maintenance.

This study reviewed the theory of acoustic emission applying generation of acoustic emission in metal cutting and proposed a relationship between fundamental cutting parameters and the root mean square (RMS) voltage of the acoustic emission on the basis of the mechanics of the orthogonal cutting operation. Experimental results are presented for 6063-T5 Auminum and the validity of this relationship is evaluated by a series of tests varying cutting speed, feed rate and rake angle in orthogonal cutting. The original formula derived theoretically has been modified in order to utilize independent of fundamental cutting parameters. RMS voltage of acoustic emission depends on cutting speed and strain rate, but it is not much affected by feed rate. Applying lubricant, the drop of RMS level has been observed.

This paper presents an offset error compensation algorithm for the accurate phase angle of the grid voltage in single-phase grid-connected inverters. The offset error generated from the grid voltage measurement process cause the fundamental harmonic component with grid frequency in the synchronous reference frame phase lock loop (PLL). As a result, the grid angle is distorted and the power quality in power systems is degraded. In addition, the dq-axis currents in the synchronous reference frame and phase current have the dc component, first and second order ripples compared with the grid frequency under the distorted grid angle. In this paper, the effects of the offset and scaling errors are analyzed based on the synchronous reference frame PLL. Particularly, the offset error can be estimated from the integrator output of the synchronous reference frame PLL and compensated by using proportional-integral controller. Moreover, the RMS (Root Mean Square) function is proposed to detect the offset error component. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through simulation and experiment results.
This paper presents an adaptive recursive least squares algorithm (ARLS) for detecting voltage sag and voltage swell events in power systems. Different methods have been developed to detect voltage sag and voltage swell. Some of them use window techniques, which are too slow when voltage sag or swell mitigation is required. Others depend on the extraction of a single non-stationary sinusoidal signal out of a given multi-components input signal, and therefore they don't consider the harmonic components in calculating the voltage root mean square value (rms). The method, proposed in this paper, is capable of estimating the voltage rms taking into account all harmonic components. The method is tested by applying it to different, simulated signals using ATP program, and compared with voltage sag detection algorithms.
This paper describes a new voltage recorder for the voltage management of a power distribution line by using a new voltage measurement technique. The RMS(Root Mean Square) voltage measurement for the power line under the assumption of a sinusoidal input voltage is taken by the full-wave rectifier, half-adder utilizing operational amplifier(OP) circuit. A/D converter utilizing a dual slope converter converts an analog voltage signal into a serial pulse. The pulse is counted with a single chip micro-controller, converted with the RMS voltage, and saved into a flash memory. In the last, a new voltage recorder with compact size and multifunction is developed. Also, Voltage Management System that can analyze the stored data via RS-232C cable is developed based on Windows 95 and Visual C++.

This paper presents a discrete wavelet transform approach for determining the beginning and end times of voltage sags. Firstly, investigations in the use of some typical mother wavelets, namely Daubechies, Symlets, Coiflets and Biorthogonal are carried out and the most appropriate mother wavelet is selected. The proposed technique is based on utilizing the maximum value of Dl (at scale 1) coefficients in multiresolution analysis (MRA) based on the discrete wavelet transform. The results are compared with other methods for determining voltage sag duration, such as the Root Mean Square (RMS) voltage and Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) methods. It is shown that the voltage sag detection technique based on the wavelet transform is a satisfactory and reliable method for detecting voltage sags in power quality disturbance analysis.

Purpose: This study conducted quantitative sensory test and nociceptive flexion reflex(NFR) measurement to examine degree of pain depending on polarity of high voltage pulsed current(HVPC) of hyperalgesia site in hyperalgesia rat by local thermal injury. mechanical pain threshold, thermal pain threshold and root mean square of NFR were measured. Methods: This study was conducted with control group I of hyperalgesia rat at hind paw by thermal injury and experimental groups divided into cathodal HVPC group II, anodal HVPC group III and alternate HVPC group IV. It measured pain threshold and root mean square(RMS) of NFR and obtained the following results. Results: Mechanical pain threshold of hyperalgeisa site was significantly increased at groups II, III and IV applying HVPC group compared to control group, but there was no difference among HVPC groups. Thermal pain threshold of hyperalgesia site showed a significant increase in group II. Group III showed significant difference after 4 days of hyperalgesia. RMS of NFR at hyperalgeisa site was significantly reduced in group II after 2 days of hyperalgesia. Group III showed significant decrease after 5 and 6 days of hyperalgesia. Conclusion: Consequently it was found that application of HVPC of hyperalgesia site increased pain threshold at hyperalgesia site by mechanical stimuli and thermal stimuli. NFR by electrical stimuli was similar to pain threshold by mechanical stimuli. Effects by polarity of HVPC showed the greatest reduction of hyperalgesia when cathodal electrode was used.
The traceability maintenance system for the AC voltage and current has been developed at the frequency range of 20 Hz to 100 Hz without using any compensation technique which is used at thermal converter (TC) ac-dc transfer system at low frequencies. The system uses a digital voltmeter (DVM) as a data acquisition system of the input waveform and stored data in memory. The developed algorithm acquires and processes the sampling data to calculate the root mean square (rms) value of the input voltage of DVM which operates at DC 10 V range for better accuracy. The best uncertainty of the AC voltage measurements is $3 {\mu}V/V$ within the frequency range. The best uncertainty of the AC current measurements is better than the $5 {\mu}A/A$ and mainly depend on the current to voltage converter, ac-dc current shunt or Current Transformer (CT), used for the measurement
