UV Roll 임프린팅 공정을 이용한 렌티큘러 렌즈 제작 (Fabrication of Lenticular Lens by Continuous UV Roll Imprinting)

  • With increasing demands for large-scale micro-optical components in the field of digital display, the establishment of large-scale fabrication technology fur polymeric patterns has become a priority. The starting point of any polymer replication process is the mold, and the mold often has flat surface. However, It is very hard to replicate large-scale micro patterns using the flat mold, because the cost of large-scale flat mold was very high, and some uniformity and releasing problems were often occurred in large scale flat molding process. In this study, a UV roll imprinting system to overcome the financial and fabrication issues of large-scale pattern replication process was designed and constructed. As a practical example of the system, a lenticular lens with radius of curvature of $223{\mu}m$ and pitch of $280{\mu}m$, which was used to provide wide viewing angle in projection TV, was designed and fabricated. The roll stamper was fabricated using direct machining process of aluminum roll base. Finally, the shape accuracy and uniformity of roll imprinted lenticular lens sheet were measured and analyzed.

Development of Process and Equipment for Roll-to-Roll convergence printing technology

  • The process of manufacturing printed electronics using printing technology is attracting attention because its process cost is lower than that of the conventional semiconductor process. This technology, which offers both a lower cost and higher productivity, can be applied in the production of organic TFT (thin film transistor), solar cell, RFID(radio frequency identification) tag, printed battery, E-paper, touch screen panel, black matrix for LCD(liquid crystal display), flexible display, and so forth. In general, in order to implement printed electronics, narrow width and gap printing, registration of multi-layer printing by several printing units, and printing accuracy of under $20\;{\mu}m$ are all required. These electronic products require high precision to the degree of tens of microns - in a large area with flexible material, and mass productivity at low cost. As such, the roll-to-roll printing process is attracting attention as a mass production system for these printed electronic devices. For the commercialization of this process, two basic electronic ink technologies, such as conductive ink and polymers, and printing equipment have to be developed. Therefore, this paper addressed basis design and test to develop fine patterning equipment employing the roll-to-roll printing equipment and electronic ink.

속도감은 강건제어에 의한 롤 운동 특성개선 (Enhancement of Roll Stability by Speed-Adaptive Robust Control)

  • This paper presents design of active roll controller of a vehicle and experimental study using the electric actuating roll control system. Firstly, parameter sensitivity analysis is performed based on 3DOF linear vehicle model. The controller is designed in the frame work of gain-scheduled H$\infty$ control scheme considering the varying parameters induced by laden and running vehicle condition. In order to investigate a feasibility of an active control system, experimental work is performed using hardware-in-the -loop setup which has been constructed by the devised electric actuating system and the full vehicle model with tire characteristics. The performance is evaluated by experiment using hardware-in-the -loop simulation under the conditions of some steer maneuvers and parameter variations.

  • Printing technology has begun to get into the spotlight in many ways due to the low cost effectiveness to existent semi-conductor process. It also has very useful application areas, not only paper printing but also patterning for LCD color tilter, Photovoltaic patterning, RFID antenna, OLED, and so on. In this study, an apparatus of gravure offset printing was developed for fine line width printing. The pattern was composed of $20{\mu}m$ size of continuous lines of which pitch size was $40{\mu}m$. The printed pattern shows that it is possible to make around $20{\mu}m$ line-width printing pattern. The roll-to-roll printing system for fine line-width printing based on primary experiment is presented. For testing of multi-layer printing, the system was designed to be capable of printing two different materials from each printing unit using gravure-offset printing method and have a function of alignment of two printed materials.

  • The determination of roll speeds in continuous rolling system is an important factor along with the design of roll profile and roll gap. The tensile force on the workpiece induces reduced cross section area and the compressive force induces wrinkles. To determine the optimal roll speeds of current rough rolling system for wire rod, FE analysis was performed. We could predict the workpiece shape and the stress level more precisely by considering the elasto-plastic behavior of workpiece. Also the efficient analysis methodology is presented to reduce the calculation time by combining the ALE and lagrangian method.

PSD를 이용한 플라스틱 박막 필름의 경사 각도 측정 시스템 개발 (Development of Tilt angle measurement system of plastic thin-film using Position Sensitive Device)

  • 스마트폰 등에서 사용되는 고성능 디스플레이에는 다양한 종류의 정밀한 플라스틱 박막 필름(Plastic Thin Film)이 사용되고 있다. 롤투롤(Roll-To-Roll) 공정으로 제조되는 플라스틱 박막 필름은 생산 공정 중에 실시간으로 필름의 두께가 계측되고, 정확하게 관리되어야 한다. 필름 제조 과정에서 필름에 장력이 작용하면서 주름이 발생되고, 이러한 주름 발생은 필름의 두께 방향과 두께 측정기의 광축이 서로 경사지게 한다. 결국 두께 측정기는 필름의 수직 두께가 아닌 경사진 두께를 측정하게 됨으로써 실제 두께보다 더 큰 값으로 측정하게 된다. 본 연구에서는, 플라스틱 필름의 경사로 인하여 발생하게 되는 두께 측정기에서의 계측값 오차를 보정하기 위하여, 필름의 경사 각도를 계측하는 연구가 진행되었다. 플라스틱 필름에 슬릿 빔 레이저를 조사하고, 필름에서 반사되는 슬릿 빔 레이저가 PSD(Position Sensitive Device)에 맺히는 광학 시스템을 구성하였으며, 실험을 통하여 필름의 경사 각도와 PSD 출력값의 관계를 1차 방정식 형태로 구하였다. 이를 이용하여 필름의 경사 각도를 측정하는 장치가 구축되었으며, 250KHz의 속도로 경사 각도의 측정이 가능하였다.

라면 면대의 균일한 두께를 위한 압연공정 자동화 (Rolling Process Automation For Uniform Thickness of Dough Sheet of Ramen Noddles)

  • The basic processing unit for instant ramen noodles includes mixing, rolling, boiling, frying, cooling, and packing processes. For uniform thickness of dough sheets in rolling process, the roll-gap in rolling process needs to keep uniform thickness of flour sheets in spite of different kinds of raw materials. In this paper, we have developed a roll gap adjustment system using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) with a touch panel and an AC servo-mechanism to make dough sheets with a good gluten starch-network structure and uniform thickness and to contribute to process standardization by transferring from tacit knowledge of skilled workers to explicit knowledge. The developed system can adjust the roll gap in units of 0.01mm and correspond to various product items which have different thickness specification by recalling the presetting values of the desired thickness from database.

  • Register control of roll-to-roll printing system for printed electronics requires accurate measurement of register errors. The register marks used for the recognition of patterns position between layers have inherently defects due to low printability of register marks themselves, which brings out inaccurate register accuracy and consequently low performance of printed electronics devices. In this study, the compensation methods for the unrecognized or missing register data are proposed to improve the recognition and consequently the control performance of register accuracy in roll-to-roll printing equipment. The compensation methods using the prior data and the linear interpolation are proposed and compared with the case without compensation for the simulation as well as experiment. Only the linear interpolation method could successfully compensate the missing data and consequently improve the register control performance. We should apply the compensation process of the register errors to improve the register control accuracy in the roll-to-roll printing equipment.

연속공정기반 저온 상압 원자층 증착 시스템을 이용한 유무기 멀티레이어 배리어 박막에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Organic-Inorganic Multilayer Barrier Thin Films Using R2R Low-Temperature Atmospheric-Pressure Atomic Layer Deposition System)

  • In this paper, the organic material Poly(methyl methacrylate) PMMA is used with inorganic $Al_2O_3$ to fabricate organic-inorganic multilayer barrier thin films. The organic thin films are developed using a roll-to-roll electrohydrodynamic atomization system, whereas the inorganic are grown using a roll-to-roll low-temperature atmospheric pressure atomic layer deposition system. For the first time, these two technologies are used together to develop organic-inorganic multilayer barrier thin films in atmospheric condition. The films are grown under optimized parameters and classified into three classes based on the layer structures, when the total thickness of the barrier is maintained at ~ 160 nm. All classes of barriers show good morphological, optical and chemical properties. The $Al_2O_3$ films with a low average arithmetic roughness of 1.58 nm conceal the non-uniformity and irregularities in PMMA thin films with a roughness of 5.20 nm. All classes of barriers show a notably good optical transmission of ~ 85 %. The hybrid organic-inorganic barriers show water vapor and oxygen permeation in the range of ${\sim}3.2{\times}10^{-2}g/m^2/day$ and $0.015cc/m^2/day$ at $23^{\circ}C$ and 100% relative humidity. It has been confirmed that it can be mass-produced and used as a low-cost barrier thin film in various printing electronic devices.

수중운동체의 순수 횡동요 시험 기구 개발 (Development of Apparatus for Pure Roll-Motion Test of Underwater Vehicles)

  • 동유체력 미계수는 수중운동체의 조종성능을 예측하기 위해 정확히 추정되어져야 하며 추정 방법의 일환으로 다양한 모형시험이 수행되어오고 있다. 수중운동체는 횡동요 모멘트 변화에 민감하므로 관련 동유체력 미계수를 추정하는 작업은 정확히 수행되어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 횡동요 운동과 관련한 동유체력 미계수를 간단하게 추정할 수 있는 순수 횡동요 장비를 새롭게 설계하였다. 횡동요 운동은 간단한 기계적 메커니즘을 통하여 구현하였으며, 메커니즘의 원리와 적용과정 그리고 설계한 장비의 system identification에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 순수 횡동요 시험의 해석방법을 제시하고 설계한 장비에 대해 반복시험을 거쳐 결과의 재현성을 확인하였다.
