  • An international standard for the product model data, STEP, and a standard for the distributed object technology. CORBA, will play a very important role in the future manufacturing environment. These two technologies provide background for the sharing of product data and the integration of applications on the network. This paper describes a prototype CAD/CAE enviroment that is integrated on the network by STEP and CORBA. Several application servers and client software were developed to verify the proposed concept.

  • In this article, we discuss a Grobner basis algorithm related to the stability of algebraic varieties in the sense of Geometric Invariant Theory. We implement the algorithm with Macaulay 2 and use it to prove the stability of certain curves that play an important role in the log minimal model program for the moduli space of curves.

  • Autonomic nervous system keep the balance of internal environments against internal and external environment changes which affect the presence. These works play an important role of keeping our health as balancing homeostasis. But the abnormality of these abilities makes our presence feeble. To obtain these information of body, this paper will propose system-measure model which decides whether one is health or not, studying Heart Rate Variability.

  • A simple general equilibrium model, where risk aversion and dividend process switching play a key role, shows that a stock price in a bubble-free economy can be observationally equivalent to that of the intrinsic bubble economy. Specifically, I seek a set of conditions under which the functional form of asset prices in the bubble-free economy is the same as that in the intrinsic bubble approach.

  • In this paper, the synchronous generator model which is derived from the swing equation and the Park's equation is transformed to an adequate form for feedback linearization. And the single controller is designed in order to play the role of both PSS and AVR. The result of the simulations shows that the stability of the system is guaranteed in the wide range of operating points.

  • The contact pressure behavior is examined by means of a finite element analysis. The oil film between the piston ring and cylinder liner is analyzed on the basis that it behaves like a polymer material. The calculated results indicate that a shape of sloping edge with a straight line, which is designated as a Model III, shows a good performance on the contact pressure behavior for the increased speed. Obviously, the ring face profiles play an important role on the contact pressure between compression ring and oil film.

  • Greenhouse gases (GHGs) such as carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), methane (CH$_4$), nitrous oxide ($N_2$O), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), sulphur hexafluoride (SF$_{6}$), together with water vapour ($H_2O$) and ozone play an important role in determining the earth's climate. The primary cause of the enhancement of GHGs is the global use of fossil fuels to generate heat, power, and electricity for a growing world population, as well as the changes in the land use, especially for agriculture. In addition, biomass buring and biofuel emissions play major roles in the GHG emissions in the Asian region because they produce large amounts of carbon monoxide (CO), nonmethane volatile organic compounds(NMVOC), black carbon(BC) and other gases. • Recently, due to the increase of the use of scanned images, the text segmentation techniques, which play critical role to optimize the quality of the scanned images, are required to be updated and advanced. In this study, an algorithm has been developed based on the modification of Gaussian mixture model (GMM) by integrating the calculation of Gaussian detection gradient and the estimation of the number clusters. The experimental results show an efficient method for text segmentation in natural scenes such as storefronts, street signs, scanned journals and newspapers at different size, shape or color of texts in condition of lighting changes and complex background. These indicate that our model algorithm and research approach can address various issues, which are still limitations of other senior algorithms and methods.

  • In general, long-term changes of ecological factors take a pulse form in which they interact with other factors and go through a repeated increasing and decreasing cycle. The coupling of the two approaches the grid model and the box model in ecological modeling can lead to an in-depth understanding of the environment. The study analyzes temporal variations of major storages with an energy system model that formulizes effectively the relationships among nutrients, phytoplankton, and zooplankton in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea. An increase of light intensity and standing stock of nutrient increase the magnitude and frequency of pulsing. Also, an immense reduction of nutrient concentration can cause extinction of the pulsing and bring about a steady state. It is concluded that the nutrient loads in freshwater discharge from the Yangtze affect the cycles of major ecological components as well as water quality variables and play an important role in the marine ecosystem.

  • The Weibull family of lifetime distributions play a fundamental role in reliability engineering and life testing problems. This paper investigates the potential usefulness of transmuted new generalized Weibull (TNGW) distribution for modeling lifetime data. This distribution is an important competitive model that contains twenty-three lifetime distributions as special cases. We can obtain the TNGW distribution using the quadratic rank transmutation map (QRTM) technique. We derive the analytical shapes of the density and hazard functions for graphical illustrations. In addition, we explore some mathematical properties of the TNGW model including expressions for the quantile function, moments, entropies, mean deviation, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves and the moments of order statistics. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the model parameters. Finally the applicability of the TNGW model is presented using nicotine in cigarettes data for illustration.
