  • This paper introduce basic study how to restrain the vibration of multi-layer structure. We have modeled mathematically for four-layer-structure and have gotten a reduced nominal model through model analyzing method. And the H$\infty$ control theory was used in this control system to get robust controller. Its shown that the desirable performance is confirmed through the mathematical simulation and the experiments. That is the robustness of this control system which use H$\infty$ control theory is confirmed for ability of disturbance rejection and modeling error.

  • In this paper, we design the optimal satellite-tracking antenna $H_{\infty}$ control system using genetic algorithm(GA). To do this, we give gain and dynamics parameters to the weighting functions and apply GA with reference model to the optimal determination of weighting functions and design parameter ${\gamma}$ that are given by Glover-Doyle algorithm which can design $H_{\infty}$ controller in the state space. These weighting functions and design parameter ${\gamma}$ are simultaneously optimized in tile search domain guaranteeing the robust stability of closed-loop system. The effectiveness of this satellite-tracking antenna $H_{\infty}$ control system is verified by computer simulation.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of designing H$\infty$ state feedback controller for the generalized time systems with delayed states and control inputs in continuous and discrete time cases, respectively. The generalized time delay system problems are solved on the basis of LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique considering time delays. The sufficient condition for the existence of controller and H$\infty$ state feedback controller design methods are presented. Also, using some changes of variables and Schur complements, the obtained sufficient condition can be rewritten as a LMI form in terms of transformed variables. The propose controller design method can be extended into the problem of robust H$\infty$ state feedback controller design method easily.

  • This paper presents a novel application method of H$_{\infty}$ optimization method to the design of Power System Stabilizer(PSS) and experimental results through hardware simulator. The approach is focused on decision of performance index and selection strategy of weighting functions together with its tuning for direct design. As the Purpose of the PSS is to increase system damping at very narrow frequency band, weighting functions are determined differently from the case of general servo system control. The designed PSS was confirmed through experiments on a hardware simulator.

  • This paper discusses Robust $H{\infty}$ control problems for networked control systems (NCSs) with time delays and subject to norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. Based on a new discrete-time model, two approaches of robust controller design are proposed. A numerical example and experimental verification with an NCS test bed are given to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed design methodologies.

  • This paper deals with designing a ground-based longitudinal landing controller which is robust to datalink time delays. Time delays occur because forward velocity measurements are downlinked and the controller output commands are uplinked. An $H_{\infty}$ controller was designed by using the input/output decomposition where time delay is modeled as a first-order system with Pade approximation. Linear simulations show that the system tracks well the predefined path and is robust to the variation of time delay.

  • This paper presents a robust hybrid control system for seismic response control of a cable-stayed bridge. Because multiple control devices are operating, a hybrid control system could alleviate some of restirctions and limitations that exist when each system is acting alone. A LQG algorithm with on-off control scheme, H$_2$ and H$_{\infty}$ control algorithms with various frequency weighting filters are used to improve the controller robustness of the active control part in the hybrid control system. The numerital simulation results show that control performances of robust hybrid control systems are similar to those of the hybrid control system with LQG algorithm. Furthermore, it is verified that robust hybrid control systems are more robust than the hybrid control system with LQG algorithm and there are no signs of instabilities in the $\pm$5% stiffness matrix perturbed system. Therefore, the proposed hybrid control system have a good robustness for stiffness matrix perturbation without loss of control effectiveness.

  • In the Industrial motor drive system, a torsional vibration is often generated because of the elastic element in torque transmission. Such system is simply modelled as a two-mass system. In this paper, it is proposed control system which is based on the two-degree-of-freedom PI control and resonance ratio control with the $H^{\infty}$ filter which is robust in disturbance and noise. The control performance of the proposed control system are examined by the computer simulation.

  • This paper presents a position control of a platform at the seaport cargo handling system. After brief description of the operating principles of the cargo handling system, the governing equation of the moving platform is derived. The equation is described in the state space model, and a robust H$_{\infty}$ controller to achieve position tracking of the moving platform. which can carry 200ton of containers, is formulated. In the synthesis of the controller, the weight of the container is treated as uncertain parameter. Both regulating and tracking control responses are analyzed for the loading and unloading procedures of the proposed automatic cargo handling system.
