This thesis is about the system where the solar module is attached to the high functional guardrail posts with anti-weed, anti-plant, and road-kill applied to produce internal power, enabling the integrated control and real-time monitoring of appearance of wildlife and road conditions using the USN. The whole system consists of a photovoltaic module(PV), a detection sensor(pyroelectric), a controller(operation select and motion sensor), the USN system, the DB(sound and flash), an output unit of sound and flash, and the control system of road-kill prevention and safety induction for vehicles. Thus this study aims to address the remote control and monitoring system of multipurpose guardrails to improve road environment, prevent road-kills, protect wild animals, and guide cars safely by using the USN which is combined with new renewable energy and IT convergence technology. As a result of the study on the remote control and monitoring system using the USN, it was ascertained that the response time of the unmanned sensing system was within 5.1 ms with the current consumption of 0.328 mA, and the data transmission speed of the remote control system was 250 kbps with the current consumption of 0.283 mA.
The position of autonomous driving vehicle is basically acquired through the global positioning system (GPS). However, GPS signals cannot be received in tunnels. Due to this limitation, localization of autonomous driving vehicles can be made through sensors mounted on them. In particular, a 3D Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) system is used for longitudinal position error correction. Few feature points and structures that can be used for localization of vehicles are available in tunnels. Since lanes in the road are normally marked by solid line, it cannot be used to recognize a longitudinal position. In addition, only a small number of structures that are separated from the tunnel walls such as sign boards or jet fans are available. Thus, it is necessary to extract usable information from tunnels to recognize a longitudinal position. In this paper, fire hydrants and evacuation guide lights attached at both sides of tunnel walls were used to recognize a longitudinal position. These structures have highly distinctive reflectivity from the surrounding walls, which can be distinguished using LIDAR reflectivity data. Furthermore, reflectivity information of tunnel walls was fused with the road surface reflectivity map to generate a synthetic reflectivity map. When the synthetic reflectivity map was used, localization of vehicles was able through correlation matching with the local maps generated from the current LIDAR data. The experiments were conducted at an expressway including Maseong Tunnel (approximately 1.5 km long). The experiment results showed that the root mean square (RMS) position errors in lateral and longitudinal directions were 0.19 m and 0.35 m, respectively, exhibiting precise localization accuracy.

Propeller performance measurement system for high altitude UAV was designed and applied to the wind tunnel test for 2 propeller models with a diameter around 1 m. Mechanical power of the propeller was directly measured by using the torque sensor installed on the rotating axis. The thrust of whole operation body including the propeller was measured by thrust road cell. The guide rail system was suggested to reduce the weight influence of operation body on the thrust road cell. The influence of each measured variables on the aerodynamic coefficients was studied with the repeatability and uncertainty analysis. This analysis result shows that the accuracies of the road cell and the wind velocity were major factors for the thrust coefficient. Propeller performance with typical RPM was measured with various wind speeds and the test results was summarized by performance coefficients for 5 different RPM.

The farming and fishing village roads is located in a mountainous geographical feature, a resident's movement zone is followed by many restrictions in economic activities or social activities. Establishment of general planning gets into guide of long-term development direction for road in farming and fishing villages area. This study examined and analyzed a regional characteristics such as a regional environment and traffic condition, etc. and an actual condition of farming and fishing village roads, selected a factor affecting a priority to open a road, calculated a weight per each factor by AHP & Statistical analysis techniques, converted it into GIS database, and determined a priority for paying forming and fishing village roads. It is that development precedence and estimation calculation are decided applying result of research, GIS and AHP and statistical processing techniques.
In Algeria, wastes are often stored in such conditions that do not meet standards. Today and more than ever, we really must implement an environmentally management of wastes. Recovery of waste in Algeria has a considerable delay due to the absence of a policy favorable to the development of waste management. But many researchers have shown the possibility to reuse dredged sediments in road construction. Through Europe, recent research works have been already performed on dam sediments. Present study fits into the context of the valorization of dredged sediments from Fergoug dam. They are found in considerable quantities and mainly composed of mineral phases, organic matters and water. The reservoir sedimentation poses problems for the environment and water storage, dredging becomes necessary. Civil engineering is a common way of recycling for such materials. Dredged sediments have not the required mechanical characteristics recommended by the standards as GTR guide (LCPC-SETRA 1992). So as to obtain mechanical performance, dredged sediment can be treated with cement, lime, or replaced materials like quarry sand. An experimental study has been conducted to determine physical and mechanical characteristics of sediments dredged from dam. Then different mixtures of sediment and/or quarry sand with hydraulic binders are proposed for improving the grain size distribution of the mixes. Finally, according these mixtures, different formulations have been tested as alternative materials with dredged sediments.

This paper tried to verify whether the fixed fire fighting system (FFFS) that is installed in road tunnel improves evacuation performance or not. Verification was performed according to the Disaster Prevention Facilities Installation and Management Guide at Road Tunnel. Twenty seven different fire scenarios were set up for the verification and the cases that FFFS was installed were compared with the cases that FFFS was not installed. The result of the comparison showed that the average equivalent death was reduced in 26 cases out of 27 cases when water spray extinguishing system was installed. It was confirmed that the risk when was not installed was unacceptable in Hong Kong and the Netherlands. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the risk was reduced to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) when was installed. The cumulative frequency of average death in case with FFFS was compared against the frequency of death without FFFS: death of one or more is about 50 times less; 10 or more is about 100 times less; and the death of more than 100 is four times less. It was verified that FFFS makes improved conditions to escape from the fires in road tunnel.
PURPOSES: The objective of this paper is to select the confidential intervals by utilizing the second moment reliability index(Hasofer and Lind; 1974) related to the number of load applications to failure which explains the fatigue failure and rut depth that it indicates the permanent deformation. By using Finite Element Method (FEM) Program, we can easily confirm the rut depth and number of load repetitions without Pavement Design Procedures for generally designing pavement depths. METHODS : In this study, the predictive models for the rut depth and the number of load repetitions to fatigue failure were used for determining the second moment reliability index (${\beta}$). From the case study results using KICTPAVE, the results of the rut depth and the number of load repetitions to fatigue failure were deducted by calculating the empirical predictive equations. Also, the confidential intervals for rut depth and number of load repetitions were selected from the results of the predictive models. To determine the second moment reliability index, the spreadsheet method using Excel's Solver was used. RESULTS : From the case studies about pavement conditions, the results of stress, displacement and strain were different with depth conditions of layers and layer properties. In the clay soil conditions, the values of strain and stresses in the directly loaded sections are relatively greater than other conditions. It indicates that the second moment reliability index is small and confidential intervals for rut depth and the number of load applications are narrow when we apply the clay soil conditions comparing to the applications of other soil conditions. CONCLUSIONS : According to the results of the second moment reliability index and the confidential intervals, the minimum and maximum values of reliability index indicate approximately 1.79 at Case 9 and 2.19 at Case 22. The broadest widths of confidential intervals for rut depth and the number of load repetitions are respectively occurred in Case 9 and Case 7.
The KHC Test Road project was initiated on 1991 to develop Korean Pavement Design Guide. It was constructed along the Joongbu Inland Expressway line between Yeoju and Gamgok. It is two-lane wide expressway containing fifteen asphalt and twenty-five Portland cement concrete test pavement sections. Various sensors were installed in the Test Road to evaluate the behavior of test pavement sections under the influence of traffic load and environmental change. The most important issues in the sensor installation are the accurate location and long-term survivability. They are directly influenced by the sensor installation methodology. The methodology for asphalt strain gages is mainly discussed in this paper because it is the second important sensors in the KHC Test Road project. In order to find the best methodology, we evaluated existing methodology from prior experience and several conducted test installations. We have tried mound, block out, and trench cuts since 2000. Among three methods, block out was the most effective one in terms of accurate location, long-term survivability, and material homogeneity. However, this method cannot be applied to the wearing coarse so that the mound method was used as an alternative. The block out method was applied to base and intermediate layers while the mound method was used to the wearing coarse. Three hundred seventy-four asphalt strain gauges were installed on asphalt pavement sections from September 3rd to November 18th in 2002. According to the sensor measurement evaluation, 6.3% of sensor demonstrated over ranged readings for mound method installation and 2.5% did for block out method installation. We lost only two sensors during the installation. It is 99.5% survival and it is excellent survival rate according to other experience.

Recently various types of digital maps are widely available through the internet. Such e-maps have an advantage that user can easily get the information of destination by using only the search function. But these e-naps are based on 2D coordinate system so that they have limits that the virtual shapes of ground are very different from the real ones. Therefore, for more actual services of location information, we made a 3D model of Yonsei University with JAVA 3D and VRML technology and built the 3D e-map of Yonsei University, which is applied through the interaction between the web server and clients.

This study was undertaken to discuss the frameworks of the gorgeous and magnificent royal procession ceremonies in the Yi Dynasty, thereby exploring the classification systems of 'three stages and five segments' on the basis of cultural anthropology and Korean traditional shamanism of ancestral sacrifices. The ceremonies were classified into three phases of (1) cleanup stage, (2) primary objective attendance stage, and (3) completing stage. Among these phases, p. :mary objective attendance stage was further distributed into five segments of (1) road guide, (2) dressing, (3) royal procession, (4) attendants' procession, and (5) back row procession. The isolates and functions of the royal procession ceremonies in the Yi Dynasty were studied through the application of Levi Strauss's structural methodology.
