RoI 추출 방법에 따른 기계를 위한 영상 압축 성능 비교 (Comparison of Image Compression Performance based on RoI Extraction Methods for Machines Vision)

  • 기존 RDO(Rate Distortion Optimization) 기반 압축 방식은 압축 성능에 초점을 두기 때문에 영상 내 인지 특성이 무시될 수 있다. 따라서 RoI(Region of Interest)을 기반으로 압축률을 조절하는 연구가 고안[1, 2, 3, 4] 되었으며, HVS(Human Visual System) 관점에서 영상 내 중요한 부분에 대해 더 높은 품질로 영상을 압축하는 연구가 대부분이다. 최근 인공지능 기술이 발전함에 따라 지능형 영상 분석에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있으며, 이에 따라 머신 비전을 위한 영상 부호화 및 효율적인 전송에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 VVC(Versatile Video Coding)의 dQP(delta Quantization Parameter)를 활용하여 RoI(Region of Interest) 기반압축 방법을 제안하고, 두가지의 RoI 추출 방식을 소개한다. Detectron2 Faster R-CNN X101-FPN [5]의 첫번째 탐지기를 통해 후보 영역 기반 RoI 을 추출하고, 두번째 탐지기를 통해 객체 기반 RoI 을 추출하여, 영상 내 객체 부분과 비객체 부분으로 나누어 서로 다른 압축률로 압축을 수행하였으며, 이에 따른 성능을 비교하고자 한다.

역삼투 공정 파울링 지표로서 SDI(Silt Density Index)의 적합성 검증 (Verification of Silt Density Index (SDI) as a fouling index for reverse osmosis (RO) feed water)

  • Silt Density Index (SDI) has been used as a fouling index for reverse osmosis (RO) processes for decades. In order to decrease RO fouling, feed water should meet SDI standard, which was used to select a proper pretreatment system for RO processes. However, SDI is supposed to be sensitive only to particles larger than 0.45 ${\mu}m$ in terms of diameters while nanoparticles and dissolved organic matter can be potent foulants for RO processes. Our study started from the suspected performance of SDI as a RO fouling index. SDI data from pilot plants located world wide including South Korea were collected and analyzed. Suspended partcle concentration (i.e., turbidity and particle counts), and dissolved organic matter concentration (i.e., dissolved orgnaic carbon (DOC) concentration) data were also collected and compared to SDI values of same water samples. We found that SDI values were not only affected by suspended particle concentration but also by dissolved organic matter concentration. Therefore SDI can be used as a reasonable fouling index for RO feed water because the main foulants for RO processes are suspended particle and dissolved organic matter.

인공 위성 사진 내 선박 탐지 정확도 향상을 위한 Watershed 알고리즘 기반 RoI 축소 기법 (Watershed Algorithm-Based RoI Reduction Techniques for Improving Ship Detection Accuracy in Satellite Imagery)

  • 해상 안보, 국제 동향 파악 등 다양한 이유로 해상 사진에서 선박을 탐지하고자하는 연구는 지속되어 왔다. 인공지능의 발달로 인해 사진 및 영상 내 객체 탐지를 위한 R-CNN 모델이 등장하였고 객체탐지의 성능이 비약적으로 상승하였다. R-CNN 모델을 이용한 해상 사진에서의 선박 탐지는 인공위성 사진에도 적용되기 시작하였다. 하지만 인공위성 사진은 넓은 지역을 투사하기 때문에 선박 외에도 차량, 지형, 건물 등 다양한 객체들이 선박으로 인식되는 경우가 있다. 본 논문에서는 R-CNN계열 모델을 이용한 인공위성 사진에서의 선박 탐지의 성능을 개선하기 위한 새로운 방법론을 제안한다. 표지자 기반 watershed 알고리즘을 통해 육지와 바다를 분리하고 morphology 연산을 수행하여 RoI를 한 차례 더 특정한 뒤 특정된 RoI에 R-CNN 계열 모델을 사용하여 선박을 탐지하여 오탐을 줄인다. 해당 방법을 이용하여 Faster R-CNN을 사용하였을 경우, Faster R-CNN만을 사용했을 때에 비해 오탐률을 80% 줄일 수 있었다.

방사성이온으로 오염된 물의 역삼투막공정을 이용한 이온제거 (Ions Removal of Contaminated Water with Radioactive Ions by Reverse Osmosis Membrane Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 역삼투막공정을 이용하여 수용액 중 저준위 방사성이온인 세슘과 요오드 이온을 제거하는 실험을 수행하였다. 국내에서 생산되는 역삼투막모듈 두 가지와 그리고 폐모듈 세정한 후 세슘과 요오드 이온에 대한 제거성능을 비교하였다. 공급수의 농도와 압력을 달리하여 실험을 진행한 결과, 세 가지 모듈 모두 세슘에 비해 요오드의 제염계수가 높은 것을 알 수 있었으며, 특히, 세정한 모듈은 요오드에 대한 제염계수가 1140으로 확인되었다. 대체적으로 실험조건이 고압일 때보다 저압일 때 제염성능이 좋은 것으로 나타났으며 이는 저압조건에 가까운 압력을 갖는 수도수에 직접 모듈을 설치할 경우에도 사용이 가능하리라 판단되었다. 또한 EDTA와 SBS, NaOH, 마이크로버블 등을 사용하여 세정한 막의 제염성능이 세정 전의 제염성능보다 높아졌으며 저압, 저농도 조건에서 요오드에 대한 회수율이 세정 후에 6.3% 증가한 결과를 얻었다.

Visual-Attention-Aware Progressive RoI Trick Mode Streaming in Interactive Panoramic Video Service

  • In the near future, traditional narrow and fixed viewpoint video services will be replaced by high-quality panorama video services. This paper proposes a visual-attention-aware progressive region of interest (RoI) trick mode streaming service (VA-PRTS) that prioritizes video data to transmit according to the visual attention and transmits prioritized video data progressively. VA-PRTS enables the receiver to speed up the time to display without degrading the perceptual quality. For the proposed VA-PRTS, this paper defines a cutoff visual attention metric algorithm to determine the quality of the encoded video slice based on the capability of visual attention and the progressive streaming method based on the priority of RoI video data. Compared to conventional methods, VA-PRTS increases the bitrate saving by over 57% and decreases the interactive delay by over 66%, while maintaining a level of perceptual video quality. The experiment results show that the proposed VA-PRTS improves the quality of the viewer experience for interactive panoramic video streaming services. The development results show that the VA-PRTS has highly practical real-field feasibility.

제주도 삼양 수원지 RO 시설 도입 연구 (A Study on the Introduction of RO Facility for Jeju Samyang Water Source)

  • Pollutants removal efficiency in pretreatment(GAC filter, multi-media filter, disk filter) and RO facilities was investigated for the Jeju Samyang spring water source where raw water intake has been stopped due to sea water intrusion. In addition, preliminary feasibility analysis was conducted between RO and groundwater intake systems. Turbidity removal in 4 different pretreatment processes was less than 25% due to low concentration of turbidity(i.e., less than 0.21 NTU), while multi-media filter is recommended for the pretreatment facility based on the low organic content in raw water as well as cheaper operation and maintenance cost. The average concentration of $Cl^-$ in raw water was 691.4 mg/L, while that of RO permeate was 9.1 mg/L(i.e., removal efficiency was 98.4%). In addition, TDS removal efficiency was 98.1%, which was quite high. The production cost for RO system($Q=4,000m^3/d$) was $362.1won/m^3$ considering installation, operation and maintenance cost for 30 years. While that of groundwater was $262.6won/m^3$ which was low compared to the RO system. However, it is recommended to introduce RO system for Samyang water source rather than new groundwater development because Samyang water source has been discharged to the sea without any usage, while groundwater can be used for other purpose as a sustainable water source.

정밀여과·나노여과·역삼투 막에 의한 세슘과 요오드의 제거 (Removal of cesium(137Cs) and iodide(127I) by microfiltration·nanofiltration·reverese osmosis membranes)

  • This study was evaluated the applicability of the membrane filtration process (Micro Filtration (MF), nanofiltration membranes (NF), reverse osmosis (RO)) on the major radioactive substances, iodine ($I^-$) and cesium ($Cs^+$) using membranes produced in Korea and domestic raw water. Iodine ($I^-$) or cesium ($Cs^+$) in the microfiltration membrane (MF) process could not be expected removal efficiency by eliminating marginally at the combined state with colloidal and turbidity material. At the domestic raw water (lake water, turbidity 1.2 NTU, DOC 1.3 mg/L) conditions, nanofiltration membrane (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) showed a high removal rate of about 88 ~ 99% for iodine ($I^-$) and cesium ($Cs^+$) and likely to be an alternative process for the removal of radioactive material.

흰쥐의 뮤시몰투여에 의한 배뇨반사억제효과에 대한 벤조디아제핀수용체의 영향 (Central Involvement of Benzodiazepine Receptor on the Muscimol-induced Inhibition of Micturition Reflex in Rats)

  • The correlation between GABA receptors($GABA_A$ and $GABA_B$ receptor) and benzodiazepine receptor on the saline infusion-induced micturition reflex contraction was studied in the female rat. To investigate the effect of ${\gamma}-aminobutyric$ acid(GABA) on the micturition reflex, exogenous GABA(10 mg/kg) and GABA transaminase inhibitor(aminooxyacetic acid; AOAA $1\;{\mu}g$) were administered intravenously(i.v.) and intracerebroventriculary(i.c.v.), respectively. In result, both GABA and AOAA inhibited the saline induced micturition reflex contraction. This AOAA induced inhibition of micturition reflex was blocked by both bicuculine. $GABA_A$ receptor antagonist, and Ro 15-1788, benzodiazepine receptor antagonist. Muscimol, $GABA_A$ receptor antagonist($0.1\;{\mu}g$ i.c.v., $3\;{\mu}g$ intrathecal; i.t., 1 mg/kg i.v.) and baclofen, $GABA_A$ receptor agonist($1\;{\mu}g$ i.c.v., $3\;{\mu}g$ i.t., 1 mg/kg i.v.) also inhibited the bladder contraction. Pretreatment of bicuculline($1\;{\mu}g$ i.c.v.), but not of 5-aminovaleric acid(AVA, $1\;{\mu}g$ i.c.v.), $GABA_B$ receptor antagonist blocked the central inhibition of muscimol. These inhibitory effects were reversed by Ro15-1788 but were potentiated by flurazepam, benzodiazepine receptor antagonist. On the other hand, the inhibitory effects of baclofen were not affected by Ro 15-1788. Diazepam and flurazepam also inhibited the micturition reflex contraction when they were administered $3\;{\mu}g$ i.c.v., $10\;{\mu}g$ i.t., $10\;{\mu}M$, $30\;{\mu}M$ transurethrally, respectively. In conclusion, these results suggest that the micturition reflex is mediated by $GABA_A$, $GABA_B$ receptor and benzodiazepine receptor. The bezodiazepines increase the receptor binding of GABA to the $GABA_A$ receptor, so that the benzodiiazepines show the synergistic effect on the inhibition of the micturition reflex contraction, but not to the $GABA_B$ receptor.

Development of a Fluorescent Sensor Based on Resazurin and Hydrotalcite for the Determination of Ethanol in Alcoholic Beverages

  • In this study, a fluorescent ethanol sensor is developed to determine the ethanol concentration in the liquid phase. The sensor is developed using a complex of resazurin (RA)/resorufin (RO) and a hydrotalcite (HT) catalyst in a sol-gel matrix of methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) to produce a fluorescent ethanol-sensing membrane (RA/RO*HT membrane). The operation mechanism of the RA/RO*HT membrane is based on (i) the oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde and (ii) the reduction of RA to RO, through electron flows followed by EtOH ↔ HT ↔ RA/RO ↔ EtOH interactions. These possible redox reactions can lead to an increased fluorescence intensity of the RA/RO*HT membrane as the ethanol concentration increases. The RA/RO*HT membrane shows a linear detection range of 1-20 vol.% EtOH with limit of detection (LOD) of 0.178%. Additionally, the RA/RO*HT membrane has high sensitivity and accuracy for determining the alcohol content in several Korean alcoholic beverages.

  • Hominis placenta have been studied as herbal acupuncture because of it's limitation of use. The properties of Hominis placenta are warm and supplement of Jeong-Hyeol, Jin-Ki and I thought that Hominis placenta have various effectiveness. So I considered Hominis placenta in Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam which is famous comprehensive korean traditional medical book. Hominis placenta was mentioned parts of Sin, Chung, Hwa, Heo-Ro, Bu-In and most of them are mentioned in Heo-Ro part. As a source book, Eui-Hak-Ib-Mun was used the most. Prescription used in various parts as mental disease, forgetfulness, tuberculosis, fever, various malnutrition disease, sterility, but it's basic principle action is all supplement of Heo-Ro. In management of Hominis placenta, most useing method is heating with steam and most of additional medicinal stuffs had action of supplying Eum, Yang, Ki, Hyeol in composition of prescription.
