Design of a Messaging System for B2B Workflow (B2B 워크플로우의 메시징 시스템 설계)

  • B2B(business-to-business) commerce has become the prime driver of contemporary electronic commerce. Under B2B commerce, corporations often must operate across organizational boundaries to share their business processes. Workflow management was proposed by Aalst(4, 5) to support several business partners that are involved in shared workflow processes in B2B commerce. We designed a messaging system for B2B workflow, where heterogeneous workflow management systems on each organization for trade were integrated. Based on Aalst's example in(4, 5), we analyzed B2B workflow by using class diagram, use case diagram, activity diagram, and statechart diagram of UML, and designed the messaging system, We also demonstrated a prototype system which was implemented by using Java API and XML. To compare with a holistic system such as EDI systems, the messaging system allows the business partners in B2B commerce to communicate with each other by dedicated messages and integrate each B2B interoperable workflow without any restrictions.

Effective Arthroscopic Treatment of Huge and Anteriorly Extended Spinoglenoid Cysts

  • Spinoglenoid cyst of the shoulder is a rare clinical entity and several treatment modalities have been reported. Recently, arthroscopy is effectively used via communication hole or posterior capsulotomy through the glenohumeral joint. With this method, the complete cystectomy is impossible if the cyst is a large size or extended anteriorly and there are few reports about such cases. We present extra-articular complete cystectomy through bursal space in 3 cases of huge and anteriorly extended spinoglenoid cysts. All patients were able to return to work with no restrictions and 2 patients who performed the follow up MRI demonstrated complete resolution of the cyst and some recovery of the mass of infraspinatus muscle.

  • This study deals with the development of noncontact vibration measuring system for monitoring the safety of structures as bridges, buildings, stadiums, tall chimneys, and dams where vibration measurements are very difficult because of various restrictions. Final object is to develope the system and be commercial by theoretical and experimental studies using IT technology for three years.

  • A dynamic absorber is used to protect the primary vibration system under the steady-state harmonic disturbance. In a number of cases it appears expedient to install several absorbers of smaller masses instead of one. This may be due to the need of distribute the absorber's response along the construction, restrictions on the absorber's installation. So, we studied characteristics of the primary vibration system for the optimal natural frequency ratio and the optimal damping ratio of serial multi-dynamic absorber. Also we obtained the optimum values of the serial multi-dynamic absorber parameters using computer simulation for the damped primary vibration system. In designing multi-dynamic absorber, we presented for the optimal natural frequency and the optimal damping ratio of multi-dynamic absorbers.

  • This paper describes the experimental method to monitor the structural integrity. The crack on structures changes the wave propagation characteristics of structures. To monitor this change, frequency dependent variation of dynamic stiffness of beam structures is obtained by using beam transfer function method, and its trends are compared to undamaged one for identifying the location and size of the crack. Piezoelectric actuators were used to generate flexural vibrations. It eliminated various restrictions of continuously measuring wave propagation characteristics and monitoring structural integrity. The structural integrity was identified with minimal number of measurements and smart structures employing PZT actuations.

  • The determination of the optimal machining parameters in metal cutting, such as cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, is an important aspect in an economic manufacturing process. The main objective in general is either to minimize the production cost or to maximize the production rate. Also there are constraints on all the machining operations which put restrictions on the choice of the machining parameters. In this paper as an objective function the production cost is considered with two constraints, surface finish and cutting power. Genetic Algorithm is applied to determine the optimum machining parameters, and the effectiveness of the applied algorithm is demonstrated by means of an example, turning operation.

  • Spare part problem of MIME (Multi Indenture Multi Echelon) system under availability constraint has been studied for several decades. In most of existing studies, it was very difficult to obtain the optimal numbers of spare parts and some approximate methods were proposed under many restrictions. In this paper, we consider a simulation to estimate the total cost rate and system availability and a genetic algorithm to obtain the optimal numbers of spare parts. Some numerical examples are also studied.

  • Let P and Q be probability measures of a measurable space $(\Omega, F)$, and ${F_n}_{n \geq 1}$ be a sequence of increasing sub $\sigma$-fields which generates F. For each $n \geq 1$, let $P_n$ and $Q_n$ be the restrictions of P and Q to $F_n$, respectively. Under the assumption that $Q_n \ll P_n$ for every $n \geq 1$, a zero-one condition is derived for P and Q to have the dichotomy, i.e., either $Q \ll P$ or $Q \perp P$. Then using this condition and the Kolmogorov's zero-one law, we give new and simple proofs of the dichotomy theorems for a pair of Gaussian measures and Poisson processes with examples.

Comparison of parameter estimation methods for normal inverse Gaussian distribution

  • This paper compares several methods for estimating parameters of normal inverse Gaussian distribution. Ordinary maximum likelihood estimation and the method of moment estimation often do not work properly due to restrictions on parameters. We examine the performance of adjusted estimation methods along with the ordinary maximum likelihood estimation and the method of moment estimation by simulation and real data application. We also see the effect of the initial value in estimation methods. The simulation results show that the ordinary maximum likelihood estimator is significantly affected by the initial value; in addition, the adjusted estimators have smaller root mean square error than ordinary estimators as well as less impact on the initial value. With real datasets, we obtain similar results to what we see in simulation studies. Based on the results of simulation and real data application, we suggest using adjusted maximum likelihood estimates with adjusted method of moment estimates as initial values to estimate the parameters of normal inverse Gaussian distribution.

  • FEM numerical models have been known to provide an extensive applicability to the field of water resources development. However, some of restrictions such as requiring considerable number of input data and numerous subprocess were the problem of using such FEM numerical models. Especially, where the model is applied to the complex coastal area, difficulties will be intensified. Therefore it is necessary that the profitable user interface, data optimization, and structured system should be developed if the models could be used effectively. In this study, it is intended that development of integrated system for simulations of FEM numerical models to give better applicability in the field of water resources development. By using integrated system which was developed in this study, it would be concluded that the efforts to need some treatments for subprocesses of the FEM numerical model were decreased and GUI environment proved to be convinient for use for the on-the-job users.
