The shock test of shipboard equipments is performed for the evaluation of the shock-resistant. capability by analyzing the maximum acceleration, the effective time duration and the shock response spectrum, etc. But some measured signals have impulsive noise and gaussian white noise because of the ambient noise, the acquisition equipment error and the transient movement of cables during the shock test. The improved transient signal analysis method which removes the noise of measured signal using the threshold policy of the median filter and the orthogonal wavelet coefficients is proposed. It was verified that the signal-to-noise ratio was improved about 30dB by the numerical simulation. And the shock response spectrum was extracted using the denoised shock response signal which was applied by this proposed method.

In this paper, we propose and analyze three viral infection models with humoral immunity including an eclipse stage of infected cells. The incidence rate of infection is represented by bilinear incidence and saturated incidence in the first and second models, respectively, while it is given by a more general function in the third one. The neutralization rate of viruses is giv0en by bilinear form in the first two models, while it is given by a general function in the third one. For each model, we have derived two threshold parameters, the basic infection reproduction number which determines whether or not a chronic-infection can be established without humoral immunity and the humoral immune response activation number which determines whether or not a chronic-infection can be established with humoral immunity. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functions we have proven the global asymptotic stability of all equilibria of the models. For the third model, we have established a set of conditions on the threshold parameters and on the general functions which are sufficient for the global stability of the equilibria of the model. We have performed some numerical simulations for the third model with specific forms of the incidence and neutralization rates and have shown that the numerical results are consistent with the theoretical results.

With the recent rising project complexities and competitive environments in the construction projects, a risk management is recognized as more important management tool than the others. However, as most risk management techniques applied to the construction projects are centered around their initial phases and risk analyses, they are not developed into general project management technique such as time management, cost management and quality management, etc., that are usually applied in the process of construction. Thus, this paper proposes a response process to construction project risks based on the risk threshold and its calculation methodology applying a concept of VaR to establish risk management as general management technique in the construction projects.
The purpose of this study is to prove how magnetic field (MF) acts on sympathetic neuro-transmissions using thermal response. Mice were divided into two groups and each one was exposed to MF (20 G, 24 hrs) or sham. Every vehicle or drugs were treated a half hour before the thermal response test. The pain threshold was lowered by MF (20 G, 24 hrs) alone. This reduction of pain threshold by MF was not blocked by a single treatment of $\alpha$-receptor antagonist (prazosin), $\alpha$$_2$-receptor agonist (clonidine, guanabenz), $\beta$$_1$-receptor antagonist (atenolol) or $\beta$$_1$,$\beta$$_2$-receptor antagonist (propranolol). But administration of $\alpha$$_2$-receptor antagonist (yohimbine) completely inhibited the decrease in pain threshold by MF. Moreover, it increased by high dose of yohimbine over normal condition. These results suggest that MF acts on sympathetic nerve terminal to induce hyperalgesia, in which pre-synaptic az receptor might be involved.

Purpose: This study was designed to investigate possibilities for quantitative analysis using the electromyography and sonography. For better understanding, we evaluated the correlation between the pressure pain threshold and sonography, spontaneous electrical activity in trigger points located in the upper trapezius muscle. Methods: Thirty three active subjects volunteered to participate in this study (n=33). They had a palpable taut band, exquisite spot tenderness of a nodule in a taut band, spontaneous pain, referred pain, jump sign, local twitch response, and a painful limit to full stretch range of motion. We measured Pressure pain threshold, density, white area index, root mean square, and reaction. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was calculated to estimate the relationship between the pressure pain threshold and other variables including density, white area index, root mean square, and reaction time. Results: There were significant correlations between pressure pain threshold and density (r=-0.75, p<0.01), and between pressure pain threshold and white area index (r=-0.74, p<0.01). A significant correlations between pressure pain threshold and root mean square (r=-0.59, p<0.01). The significant correlation was found between pressure pain threshold and reaction time (r=-0.64, p<0.01). Conclusion: These should indicate whether quantitative analysis can be done using the characteristics of electromyography and sonography.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of dental therapeutic agent on conduction velocity and threshold current of intradental A- and C-fibers in the cat. Inferior alveolar nerve of cat anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital was exposed and dissected until response of functional single pulp nerve until could be evoked by monopolar electrical stimulation of the crown of the lower left canine teeth. 10ms rectangular pulse was used to determine the threshold current and 1ms rectangular pulse was used to determine conduction velocity. After application of calcium chloride (1, 2, 6M), calcium hydroxide mixed with saline, potassium chloride (0.2, 0.8, 1.6M), eugenol, zinc oxide eugenol to the cavity on the labial surface, conduction velocity and threshold current of single pulp nerve unit were compared with the control. In 10 cats, 24 $A{\delta}$- and 11 C- pulp nerve units were recorded. The mean conduction velocities of $A{\delta}$- and C-fibers were 7.5m/sec (SD=5.8) and 1.2m/sec (SD=0.4), respectively. The mean threshold current was $12.3{\mu}A$ (SD=5.3) for $A{\delta}$-fibers and $24.9{\mu}A$ (SD=8.1) for C-fibers. 1, 2, 6M calcium chloride caused decrease of conduction velocity and remarkable increase of threshold current in $A{\delta}$- and C-fibers. The effect of calcium hydroxide mixed with saline was similar but smaller than calcium chloride solution. 0.2M potassium chloride had insignificant effect. In 0.8M potassium chloride, the threshold current was increased although conduction velocity was not affected. In 1.6M potassium chloride, the threshold current was increased and the conduction velocity was slowed down. Spontaneous activity was recorded frequently for first 5 min but gradually reduced both in $A{\delta}$- and C-fibers. Eugenol had irreversible effect on pulp nerve in that initially there were not certain changes in the conduction velocity and threshold current of $A{\delta}$- and C-fibers, but the responses to electrical stimulation were abruptly disappeared after sustained application and were not recovered. Contrary to eugenol, zinc oxide eugenol did not caused significant increase of the threhold current and caused time dependent decrease of the conduction velocity, and did not show any irreversible change.
A new stochastic process is introduced for describing a mechanism of viruses. The process generalizes the $Bartoszy\'{n}ski's$ process ($Bartoszy\'{n}ski$, 1975a, 1975b, 1976) by allowing the stochastic perturbation between consecutive jumps to take into account the persistent infection (the infection without breaking infected cells). It is shown that the new process can be obtained by a weak limit of a sequence of Markov branching processes. Along with the construction of the new process, we study how the stochastic perturbation influences the risk of a symptom in an infected host. For this purpose, the quantal response model and the threshold model are investigated and compared through their induced survival functions.

Recently data mining techniques have been used for analysis and classification of data related to industrial accidents. The main objective of this study is to compare performance of algorithms for data analysis of industrial accidents and this paper provides a comparative analysis of 5 kinds of algorithms including CHAID, CART, C4.5, LR (Logistic Regression) and NN (Neural Network) with ROC chart, lift chart and response threshold. In this study, data on 67,278 accidents were analyzed to create risk groups for a number of complications, including the risk of disease and accident. The sample for this work chosen from data related to manufacturing industries during three years $(2002\sim2004)$ in korea. According to the result analysis, NN has excellent performance for data analysis and classification of industrial accidents.
The visible threshold of Oreochromis niloticus responded to high light intensity under short wavelengths, whereas the response to low light intensity under long wavelengths was low, with a minimum visual threshold of 574 nm of LED lights. Movement distance of O. niloticus was dropped at 31℃ and increased abnormally at 37℃ under natural light. Comparing movement distance under red (622 nm) and green (518 nm) lights of LED, movement distance and swimming speed under red and green lights were higher than under natural light. However, the movement distance decreased rapidly at 31℃ under red light and lowest at 33℃ under green light. After that, there was a tendency to adapt to high water temperatures gradually. Consequently, red and green lights may be recommended for O. niloticus's aquaculture because the red and green lights have a positive effect on growth performance, survival rate, and metabolism, as shown in previous studies. It is necessary to control the water temperature below 32℃ because abnormal behavior above 32℃ revealed under red and green LED lights and natural light.

To compare an electrical and optical characteristics of indium tin oxide (ITO) and carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode on flexible and reflective display, we fabricate two charged particle-type display panels under the same panel condition of which the width of ribs is 10 ${\mu}m$, the cell size is $300{\mu}m{\times}300{\mu}m$, the q/m value of the white particles is -4.3 ${\mu}C/g$ and that for the black is +1.3 ${\mu}C/g$, and the cell gap is 75 ${\mu}m$, 125 ${\mu}m$, and 175 ${\mu}m$. We use plastic substrates coated with ITO and CNT electrode. To evaluate optical property, we measure a response time of particles using a laser and a photodiode. Threshold and driving voltages of CNT electrode according to the sheet resistance of 300, 600, 1,000 (ohm/sq) are compared with ITO electrode of 10 (ohm/sq). A response time of the CNT panel is similar to that of ITO panel, but the threshold and driving voltages of CNT panel are higher than that of ITO panel, inducing a large bombardment of the particles and shortening the lifetime of the panel. High difference of a threshold and a driving voltage of CNT panel will induce an particle clumping, resulting degradation of the panel. A bending radius of the fabricated CNT panel is 18 ${\mu}m$.
