A Study on Constant Current Boosted Squarewave Driving Electronic Ballasts for High Pressure Mercury Are Iamp (정전류 쵸핑을 이용한 구형파 구동형 고압 수은 방전등용 전자안정기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • There are many articles about the HID lamps about it's characteristics and simulation methods for lamp design or ballast design. For the electronic ballasts of HID lamps, There are some problems caused by acoustic-resonance which destabilizes the arc of HID lamps. So, some studies suggest the methods to avoid it. For example, the methods suggested are high frequence driving over 100[kHz], and mixed frequence driving which alternates high frequence and low frequence, and squarewave driving etc. This study suggests the electronic ballast of HID lamps that solves the problems of acoustic-resonance, and can control the luminance by constant current boostes chopper of which frequence is 30[kHz] and by the squarewave driving of which frequence is 55.5[Hz.] As follows, we have the good electronic ballast for HID lamps which has the characteristics of a light weight, and a function of luminance control and a high quality luminosity and which saves electrical energy.

  • According to electrical output up rating of a permanent magnet motor and request to operate for a large variable speed range, resonance between structural natural vibration and electromagnetic force inside the motor can take place and make noise. This paper describes the mechanism of a resonance between them and noise lowering procedure by frequency shift when they are applied to the reluctance torque largely employed new motor named Permanent magnet Reluctance Motor (PRM).

  • Recently, the machine tools have been needed for high speed and accuracy to increase productivity. The most Important thing to get a more stabilized machine is to know the frequency response which has an effect on manufacture a lot. This problem should be considered seriously by many researchers. There are many application programs about FEM but Just using FEM program to get information of the object is not enough to put our confidence in the stability of the machine tool design. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to make a study for proving one of the ways to design to produce stabilized a machine more efficiently by comparing FRT method and FEM. At these two tests, we can learn about the frequency response area causing resonance and we can reconfirm the result to trust.

  • In this paper, the electronic ballast was developed to control 250W metal halide lamp. To avoid acoustic resonance phenomenon, we calculated the acoustic resonance band and determined the driving frequence to from 70kHz to 100kHz. Due to the switching loss of MOSFET, many problems are caused in the inverter circuit during lighting the lamp, so we have reduced the loss by connecting the capacitor to reduce inrush current In this paper, main research area is to find the methods to operate the Iamp on regulated constant output. After detecting the current I and voltage V of the lamp, we changed the driving frequency by changing the DC voltage level.

  • By introducing a compressive-strained quanternary InGaAsP quantum-wells instead of a conventional ternary InGaAs quantum-wells in 1.55.mu.m DFB-LD, the lasing performances canb e improved and the problems caused by the thickness non-uniformity and the compositional abruptness among the hetero-interpaces canb e relaxed. In this paper, we investigated an iptimum InGaAsP/InGaAsP multiple-quantum-well(MQW) structure as an active layer in a direct-modulated 1.55.mu. DFB-LD from the view point of threshold current, chirping charcteristics, and resonance frequency. The optimum compressive-strained MQW structure was revealed as InGaAsP/InGaAsP structure with strain amount of about 1.2%, number of wells $N_{w}$ of 7, well width $L_{w}$ of 58.agns.. The threshold current density J of 500A/c $m^{2}$, the linewidth enhancement factor a of 1.8, and differential resonance frequency of d $f_{r}$/d(I-I)$^{1}$2/=2GHz/(mA)$^{1}$2/(atI=2 $I_{th}$) were expected in 1.55.mu.m .gamma./4-shifted DFB-LD with the cavity length of 400.mu.m long and kL value of 1.25. These values are considerably improved ones compared to those of 1.55um DFB-LD with InGaAs/InGaAsP MQW which have enhancement factor and the resonance frequence frequency by the detuning of lasing wavelength and gain-peak wavelength. It was found that the linewidth enhancement factor of 20% and differential resonance frequency of 35% without the degradation of the threshold current density could be enhanced in the range of -15nm~-20nm detuning which can be realized by controlling the thickness and Incomposition of InGaAsP well. well.and Incomposition of InGaAsP well. well.

  • Resonant characteristic of Whispering modes(W. G. mode) on a dielectric disk resonator is influenced by an external circuit that is placed near the disk to excite this type of modes. In order to evaluate this phenomenon, we divide the disk resonator as two parts; a coupling part in which the mode coupling occurs and on uncoupled region. In the coupled part, we regard the part of the disk as a curved waveguide which is loaded with matched circuit, and derive a coupled mode equation for nonparallel dielectric waveguides. From the coupled mode equation, we calculate coupling coefficients and a coupled electromagnetic field. By using the complex coupling coefficients, we can calculate power transfer. We also calculate a resonant frequency in consideration of the mode coupling phenomenon. The calculated resonance frequence is confirmed by experiment for the resonance characteristics. As the results, it is found that the discrepancy between the theoretical and the experimental resonance frequencies is about 1.28% and the discrepancy between theory and experiment of FSR is about 0.6%.

  • Currently, so many approaching methods are being developed to optimize the antenna size. In this paper, We fabricated Inverted-F type antenna attaching lumped components to solve the limitation of antenna size. Through experiments, a basic Inverted-F type antenna was fabricated and satisfied the adequate radiation pattern. After this, we researched the effect of antenna varied by matching circuit consist of chip type resistor, inductor, and capacitor. Using that elements, the antenna was matched at aim frequency. The proposed antenna's size is $7\;{\times}\;24\;mm$ that is very small size against the resonance frequence. Measuring the developed antenna, Its return loss was -18dB. Thus, this antenna can be used for Z-wave systems.

  • This paper is a study on electromagnetic wave absorption properties for the composition ratio of Ni-Zn-Fe$_2$O$_4$. Li-Zn-Fe$_2$O$_4$was composed of Fe$_2$O$_3$ 48∼51mo1%, LiO 18 ∼22mo1%, ZnO 34∼27mo1%. and sintering was carried out at 1200$^{\circ}C$. Through the experiments, the resonance phenomenon occured at low frequence range for high permeability, and vice versa. Specialy, In the case of Fe$_2$O$_3$49mol%, NiO 20mo1%, ZnO 3lmol% ,and the matching thickness was 10mm , the absorbing bandwith was 0.35 ∼0.95GHz. Also, In the case of Fe$_2$O$_3$51mo1%. NiO 22mo1%, ZnO 27mol%, we could get the absorbing bandwith of 0.45∼1.2GHz when the matching thickness was 6mm. Therefore. it is proved that electromagnetic wave absorbers with the above bandwidth range can be fabricated successful1y.
