  • This study analyzes critical factors that affect issues of resolving time in BIM-based coordination using a case study. According to recent buildings that are meant to be more complex, BIM-based design coordination is regarded as an essential stage of the project delivery process. In the design coordination phase, a relocation of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical elements is conducted to avoid interference. In addition, the procedure of the development of each element in detail for the actual construction is carried out. Delays in coordination can affect delays in the entire delivery schedule of the project, and therefore many researches have focused on efficient coordination methods and how to shorten the period. In this study, we conducted a detailed analysis of the issue-resolving process using a case study, and found out that the participation of decision-makers for issue-resolving and the physical combination of trades affect delays in coordination time. In particular, we proposed the concept of organizational relation, indicating the level of decision-makers for issue-resolving, and the concept of physical relation, indicating the physical complexity of the issue, and we analyzed the effects of coordination delays.

  • This research develops a framework for resolving time and worker conflicts in the Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) method, expressed in the form of a Max-Plus Linear (MPL) system. Our previous work proposed a method for resolving time conflicts. However, in practical cases, both time and worker conflicts may occur. Hence, we propose a method for resolving both time and worker conflicts for a single project. We first consider how to detect a resource conflict. Then, we define an adjacency matrix to resolve the detected conflicts. Using the proposed method, we confirm that the resource conflict can be resolved through a numerical example.

  • The number of disputes between physicians and patients caused by medical malpractice are showing a sharp increasing over the past several years. The disputes on medical malpractice may be resolved either in court or by direct negotiation between both sides concerned. There are no special acts relating to the civil or penal liability of the physicians in Korea. The medical disputes are decided merely through legal technicalities and without reference to actual medical practice. The current system which does not compensate injured patients adequately or equitably leads to taking a long time consuming for dispute resolution processes. The things make worsed, the problem is due to not being of insurance system or a proper funds for compensation. This research proposes a outline of new and comprehensive alternative for these problems and failure of conventional resolution of medical disputes. So far, we have learned lessons from the excperiencies of resolving medical malpractice disputes of Japan and the United States. The proposal first calls for an administrative arbitration and pretrial screening panels as a condition precedent to trial. The proposal also includes to facilitate with the funds for compensating the injured.

  • PURPOSES : This research is a study on the changes in the road network of the surrounding area is installed according to the Kiss & Ride Zone. METHODS : Estimating the transportation mode of students by using the Metropolitan household Surveys(2006) and estimating the O/D by Kiss & Ride ratio with the estimated data, then being applied to a method of reducing the number of lanes for certain sections of the road which would be installed with Kiss & Ride Zone. RESULTS : The reason why it is different for delay resolving time and the affected roads as the Kiss & Ride percentage change, was the impact of the Kiss & Ride Zone's installation position. CONCLUSIONS : The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of the road network in accordance with the installation of Kiss & Ride Zone by using speed and queue delay resolving time, and it is a need to develop a quantitative evaluation technique which was using various indicators in impact analysis according to the installation of the traffic safety facilities in the future.

  • In order to support a cell-independent traffic asymmetry, the conventional TDD system cannot avoid crossed time slot (CTS) interference. Moreover, the TDD/FDD hierarchical overlay cellular systems is taken into account as a generally accepted cell model in a heterogeneous radio environment. In this paper, we propose an interference resolving radio resource allocation technique in a TDD-OFDMA cellular system that overlays a FDD-CDMA cell. In our proposed scheme, we exploit under-used FDD-CDMA uplink resource by TDD mobile abiding by a region based time slot(TS) allocation which in turn mitigates CTS interference considerably. It is demonstrated that combined with under-used resource utilization scheme based on mobile's location, the proposed technique can reduce CTS interference considerably and support the asymmetric traffic in TDD system.

  • In this study, for the purpose of reflection level analysis of high school students in HW design learning which is based on online simulation, we carried out 5 lessons of HW learning and analyzed there reflection levels for 5 individual time of reflection content. The reflection level analysis results for each time of learning shows that the reflection level of the $3^{rd}$ time learning of D-Flip Flop is the highest score with 1.23. The correlation analysis result between the reflection contents presents that high positive correlation between learning content and task resolving method(r=.781, p<.01), and negative design correlation between task resolving method and alternative resolving method. The HW learning satisfaction survey result shows 4.2, and most of the participant students provided opinions that the HW design learning is required and current learning contents is a bit difficult to follow. We could recognize HW design learning is required to have composition of curriculum with basic and advanced contents, and on-off lines combined.

  • Real-Time Kinematic GPS positioning is widely used for many applications.Resolving ambiguities is the key to precise positioning. Integer ambiguity resolution isthe process of resolving the unknown cycle ambiguities of double difference carrierphase data as integers. Two important issues of resolving are efficiency andreliability. In the conventional search techniques, we generally used chi-squarerandom variables for decision variables. Mathematically, a chi-square random variableis the sum of mutually independent, squared zero-mean unit-variance normal(Gaussian) random variables. With this base knowledge, we can separate decisionvariables to several normal random variables. We showed it with related equationsand conceptual diagrams. With this separation, we can improve the computationalefficiency of the process without losing the needed performance. If we averageseparated normal random variables sequentially, averaged values are also normalrandom variables. So we can use them as decision variables, which prevent from asudden increase of some decision variable. With the method using averaged decisionvalues, we can get the solution more quicklv and more reliably. To verify the performance of our proposed algorithm, we conducted simulations. We used some visual diagrams that are useful for intuitional approach. We analyzedthe performance of the proposed algorithm and compared it to the conventionalmethods.

  • For efficient noise reduction in a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectrum, a new algorithm was proposed. The suggested algorithm reduces white and electrical noise, and it improves signal-to-noise ratio. This algorithm has been optimized to reduce the noise more efficiently using the traces of signal level. The algorithm has been efficiently combined with derivative window to improve the resolution as well S/N. Time domain data was corrected for DC voltage interference. $t^n$ window was applied in time domain data to improved the resolution. However, $t^n$ window can improve the signal resolution, it will also increase the noise level in frequency domain. Therefore, newly developed noise reduction algorithm will be applied to make a balance between resolving power and S/N ratio for magnitude mode. The trace algorithm can determine the current data point with several data points (mean, past data, calculated past data). In the current calculations, we assumed data points with S/N ratio more than 3 were considered as signal data points. After the windowing and noise reduction, both resolution and signal-to-noise ratio were improved. This algorithm is applicable more efficiently to frequency dependent noise and large size data.

  • We present an interactive cloth simulation method based on the mass-spring model, which is the most widely used one in the field of cloth animation. We focus especially on the case where relatively strong forces are applied on relatively small number of mass-points. Through distributing the forces on some specific points to the overall mass-points, our method simulates the cloth in pseudo-real time. Given a deformed cloth, we start from resolving the super-elasticity effect using Provot's dynamic inverse method [9]. In the next stage, we adjust the angles between neighboring mass-points, to finally remove the unexpected zigzags due to the previous super-elasticity resolving stage.
