The Study on Pullout Resistance Characteristics of the Compression Anchor by Pullout Tests on the Field (현장실험에 의한 압축형 앵커의 인발거동특성 연구)

  • The mechanism of pullout resistance of compression anchor is analysed. This anchor is developed through the field pullout tests and the laboratory element test. The compression anchor is characterized by decrease of progressive failure, simple site work, economy and durability compared with tension anchor. The characteristics of compression anchor, compared with tension anchor. mainly are summarized as follows ; (1) The plastic displacement of anchor body is very small during pullout of anchor. (2) Total anchor length decreases by the shortening of free length; (3) The progressive failure is decreased.; (4) The safety factor for pullout resistance increases with time after construction of anchor.

  • The bar-shaped electrode is very popular in earth construction for its easy obtainments of the regulative grounding resistance values on power distribution systems in many countries. For these reason, a lots of researches are being proceeded on its deformation and materials. But the grounding construction has limit for improvement the grounding resistance characteristics not only by the improvement of the driven electrode, because that the grounding characteristics are very sensitive to soils(hard, soft). This study is about the construction methods on which the driven electrode can be serially or parallely connected using by hollow screw rod for obtaining the regulative grounding resistance values. The experimental results show that the grounding resistance values are reduced more than 30[%] comparing with the other construction methods under the same conditions(earth resistance, numbers of driven electrode, construction method of serial and parallel, chemicals for reducing grounding resistance, water).

Negative Resistance Characteristics and Oscillation Phenomena of Oriented Polypropylene Film (OOP 필름의 부성저항 특성과 발진 현상)

  • In this paper, the electrical conduction phenomena of oriented polypropylene film were studied. Especially, as for the range of negative characteristics, it is observed that as increasing ambient temperature, the characteristics are shifted gradually towards the low intensity side of applied field with the decreasing width of the range as well as the fact that the current oscillation takes place at the both transition points of the characteristics. Finally, it is also suggestive that the oscillation characteristics observed on the negative resistance range of the biaxially oriented specimen show the possibility to utilize it as active element materials.

  • This research was about shielded trench gate power MOSFET for low voltage and high speed. We used T-CAD tool and carried out process and device simulation for exracting design and process parameters. The exracted parameters was used to design shieled and conventional trench gate power MOSFET. And The electrical characteristics of shieled and conventional trench gate power MOSFET were compared and analyzed for their power device applications. As a result of analyzing electrical characteristics, the recorded breakdown voltages of both devices were around 120 V. The electric distributions of shielded and conventional trench gate power MOSFET was different. But due to the low voltage level, the breakdown voltage was almost same. And the other hand, the threshold voltage characteristics of shielded trench gate power MOSFET was superior to convention trench gate power MOSFET. In terms of on resistance characteristics, we obtained optimal oxied thickness of $3{\mu}m$.

Mechanical and Durability Characteristics of Latex-Modified Concrete Using Ultra Rapid Hardening Cement (초속경 시멘트를 이용한 라텍스 개질 콘크리트의 역학성능과 내구성능)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanical and durability characteristics of latex-modified concrete using ultra rapid hardening cement : four types of mechanical tests including compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, flexural strength and bond strength were performed; and seven types of durability tests including resistance of concrete to chloride ion penetration, freeze-thaw resistance, scaling resistance, coefficient of thermal expansion, cracking tendency, abrasion resistance and drying shrinkage were performed. Required material performance of each test was determined in accordance with the Korea specification for repair of concrete and pavement repairing materials. The test results satisfied the required material performances, and presented a good mechanical and durability characteristics. In particularly, the materials showed early development of compressive strength, flexural strength and bond strength at 3 and 4 hours after curing. SEM photos were also taken to investigate the micro structures of the materials after chloride ion penetration test.

A Study on the Safety Estimation of Wiring Connection Connector Manufactured by Housing Type (하우징 형태(Housing Type)로 제작된 배선 연결 커넥터의 안전성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of a wire connector fabricated for the effective installation of a lighting fixture including its contact resistance, insulation resistance, withstanding voltage characteristics, etc., and to provide the basis for the analysis and judgment of PL(Product Liability) dispute by presenting a damage pattern due to a general flame and overcurrent. This study applied the Korean Standard (KS) for the incombustibility test of the connector using a general flame and performed an overcurrent characteristics test of the connector using PCITS (Primary Current Injection Test System). The contact resistance of the housing connector was measured using a high resistance meter and the insulation resistance was measured using a multimeter. In addition, a supply voltage of AC 1,500V for testing the withstanding voltage characteristics was applied to both ends of the connector. Measurement was performed on 5 specimens and the measured values were used as a basis for judgment. Since the connector is fabricated in the form of a housing, it can be connected and separated easily and has a structure that allows no foreign material to enter. In addition, since it has a structure that allows wires to be connected only when their polarity is identical, any misconnection that may occur during installation can be prevented. When the incombustibility test was performed by applying a general flame to the connector, it showed outstanding incombustibility characteristics and the blade and blade holder connected to the housing remained firmly secured even after the insulation sheath (PVC) was completely destroyed by fire. In addition, the mechanism of the damaged connecting wire showed a comparatively uniform carbonization pattern and it was found that some residual melted insulation material was attached to both ends. In the accelerated life test (ALT) to which approximately 500% of the rated current was applied, the connector damage proceeded in the order of white smoke generation, wire separation, spark occurrence and carbonization. That is, it could be seen that the connector damaged by overcurrent lost its own metallic color with traces of discoloration and carbonization. The contact resistance of the connector at a normal state was 2.164mV/A on average. The contact resistance measured after the high temperature test was 3.258mV/A. In addition, the insulation resistance after the temperature test was completed was greater than $10G\Omega$ and the withstanding voltage test result showed that no insulation breakdown occurred to all specimens showing stable withstanding voltage and insulation resistance characteristics.

Experimental Study on Slip Characteristics of Floor Surface Roughness and Slider Materials (바닥 거칠기 및 미끄럼판 재질에 따른 미끄러짐 특성 연구)

  • This paper presented an experimental study of slip resistance characteristics of shoes and floor surface contact with special focus on the effect of surface roughness, outsole material and mechanical abrasion. The factors that affected the results of slip resistances were investigated for four kinds of rubbers and five kinds of floor samples using the VIT(English XL) tribometer. The slip resistance was observed to increase gradually with increasing roughness for five kinds of floor roughness. In the higher surface roughness (larger than $11.5{\mu}m$), the slip resistance increased more rapidly and exceeded safety criteria at $22.60{\mu}m$. The slip resistance was observed to decrease with increasing hardness of outsole, except for butylenes rubber, which seemed to show the material property. The slip resistance decreased with number of trials. In the first several times(5 or 6 trial), the slip resistance decreased more rapidly, whereafter it approached gradually constant value. The slip resistance of surfaces has generally been shown to increase with floor surface roughness and to decrease with hardness of outsole and number of trials under the wet condition.

  • We have measured the I-V characteristics and contact resistance of jointed BSSCO tape in the superconducting state. Electrical joint was made by various type of solder. Estimated critical current was about 30 Amp, and the contact resistance of the joint was about 350 nOhm.

Effects of Plasma-Nitriding on the Surface Characteristics of Stainless Steels Containing Nb (Nb함유 스테인리스강의 표면특성에 미치는 플라즈마질화의 영향)

  • In order to develop the corrosion and wear resistance of stainless steels, effects of plasma-nitriding on the surface characteristics of stainless steels containing Nb were investigated by utilizing a potentiostat. It was found that plasma nitriding at $350^{\circ}C$, compared with $500^{\circ}C$, produced a good corrosion resistance as nitriding time increased, whereas stainless steel containing low Nb content showed that pitting potential and corrosion potential decreased.
